@Mommy2boys30 yeah it was pretty straightforward. She asked me a few questions and updated everything. Said roughly 2-3 weeks but obviously easter will slow things down abit. She said its good to let them know as soon as possible. They will backdate to when DLA backdates too, as long as you let them know within 1 month of the DLA decision xx

This appeared on my Facebook on a DLA page I’m on. Surely it can’t be right?!

I was thinking the same, surely it was a MR and not a new claim?

@MrsLove5 thankyou hun going to call up Tuesday and ask what rates he was awarded then update UC. Uc we’re aware we was waiting on outcome of his dla. I cried with relief I’ve been off work since January had to give up my job to be a stay at home mum with him due to his reduced timetable. We have only one special needs school in my area and there is no spaces and huge waiting list , so he’s still in mainstream and they admitting failing him😭 his award will help him in so many ways 😭 this thread has been a saviour ! Thankyou girls ! I don’t want to leave 😭😂

For those of you who have a child who is nearly 16 how long after their birthday were you awarded?

It should be 18 a 16 year old is completely different to an 18 year old.

Would definitely be strange if it was a new claim. Comments on the post were switched off too so couldn’t ask details x

should only be a few weeks I would drop a message on your journal and just say your asking for an update should get back to you after Easter.

Just seen on fb someone's been awarded today after having a call off a DM, so they must be in today, atleast some of them for overtime 🤞

I’m not too sure though because I’m only 7 weeks in and I called before I found this thread to see where he is in the process and she said all she could tell me is that it’s been assigned to someone, not DM x

Apparently they say it’s with dm when it’s actually in a holding pile and not been assigned to anyone

Fee89 · 29/03/2024 16:20

@kristie198 iv just read someone got their childs NI number and award after having to send in a complaint 😬

LittleOldMe2024 · 29/03/2024 16:48

I’ve seen a few posts on Facebook saying people have either had payments today or been told they’ve been awarded today but when I tried to call it said they’re closed all over the holiday 🤯

Got text on Wednesday to say awarded
No idea of the process as I never bothered with phoning, just waited it out
Can now see a payment of £2100 is due into my account on Wednesday which I calculate to be MRC and LRM.

This is such a relief but I'm also kicking myself I didn't claim earlier ... although to be fair I'm only talking 2-3 months earlier as before that I had no idea that I did quite so much to support my child's needs, or that her needs qualified as a disability.

So happy for you! Mine was scanned a day after yours but I’ve heard nothing yet 😂
