Yes, she looked it up there and then whilst I was on the phone and the added it to my daughter’s file.

You just have to give your NINO and then it links to any children you’re claiming child benefit for. It was extra confusing for me as it was under my husbands NINO as he filled in the forms for the child benefit (but I filled in the DLA forms!)

Then I assume it went back to clerical team who cancelled the request made by them, and then put it back into dms pile.

I genuinely think I’d still be waiting for the request made on 22nd March by the clerical team if I hadn’t phoned and explained i am now in receipt of child benefit as I don’t think they get a notification of child benefit starting if it’s not being claimed at the initial scan date. It would also then become confusing as you could end up with 2 NINOS.

Hey just want some help, scan date 15/12, can not believe it I was awarded mrc and Lrm. Just want to know I have informed uc about this change today. Awarded was made yesterday do you no how long it takes to clear in my bank? Also do uc take money off me now as I work?

Bin a long wait and I cried on the phone when they told me I was just so thankful that my daughter gonna get support she deserves. By the way I did not send no evidence as still on waiting list but I was as honest as I cud be in form and explain a day in life at home and how difficult it is to just do normal things like brushing teeth going to shops everything has to be explain to my daughter on a day to day basis on what happen that day and times.

when I phoned yesterday (if it wasn’t back with the dm yet) I was planning on asking the person I was talking to on the phone if there was any way they could ping an email to my DM to just let them know the Nino was now on file rather than it needing to go back to clerical team to see if that would speed things up a bit (assuming that’s how it worked?!)

It is with the dm so I didn’t need to ask though. I phoned thursday, then had the bank hol weekend, and it was with the DM on Tuesday so it didn’t take long xx

Yay! Lots of awards to end the week on a good note. I am getting invested in all your stories and so wishing you guys as easy a ride as possible. My DC got awarded DLA nearly a decade ago and we couldn’t have managed without the help so I do feel for those of you who have just started walking this path, the fight goes on.
