@4outof4 they reply straight away usually the same day I write on my journal for an update but when I rang the lady said it could take a few hours with a dm or a few months my daughter was awarded the 8/3 and I updated uc straight away but I’ve heard a few people have waited months for it to be backdated from uc x

Omg really how the hell can it take months 😯 on the plus side at least it's with a DM xx

Gosh so sorry you already have enough to deal with. They have no empathy honestly. Maybe now that you’ve spoken to the manager things will be quick. One user I don’t remember her name her scan date was 3/11, after she spoke to the manager on a Friday, her award came on Monday.x

I'm now in receipt of child benefit for her now so I wonder if it will move a bit quicker now xx

Hey just want some help, scan date 15/12, can not believe it I was awarded mrc and Lrm. Just want to know I have informed uc about this change today. Awarded was made yesterday do you no how long it takes to clear in my bank? Also do uc take money off me now as I work?

I would call them @kristie198 and let them know you have child benefit now (if you haven’t already) and so have a NINO. I don’t think it’ll automatically flag their end.

My DLA application was sent in Nov and child benefit started shortly after but it stayed a clerical case and Nino was requested on 22nd March even though she already had a NINO. I wonder if It doesn’t flag on their systems if a Nino is generated after DLA application logged onto the system.

I called yesterday and it’s now back with a DM with NINO on file.

I also asked the lady if she could put a note requesting a text message once decision had been made. Up until now I’ve had 1 x letter and no texts xx

Oh really was they able to obtain ur child's nino quicker once you told them you are now in receipt of child benefit xx

Not sure if it possible can you not ring child benefit and ask them for ni number and ring doa and give it them mite be quicker if they have phone number.

Yes, she looked it up there and then whilst I was on the phone and the added it to my daughter’s file.

You just have to give your NINO and then it links to any children you’re claiming child benefit for. It was extra confusing for me as it was under my husbands NINO as he filled in the forms for the child benefit (but I filled in the DLA forms!)

Then I assume it went back to clerical team who cancelled the request made by them, and then put it back into dms pile.

I genuinely think I’d still be waiting for the request made on 22nd March by the clerical team if I hadn’t phoned and explained i am now in receipt of child benefit as I don’t think they get a notification of child benefit starting if it’s not being claimed at the initial scan date. It would also then become confusing as you could end up with 2 NINOS.
