I was updating the person on the phone but I'm not sure if he was understanding what I was saying, now do I call back to confirm what was written or do I leave it?

Lauste84 · 03/04/2024 14:33

Those who have been awarded lately have you had a text message to let you know you have been awarded?

No I called today because mine was with a DM from last Monday

I had a call very similar. The man either wasn’t listening or didn’t understand what I was saying. I ended up telling him, don’t write anything, I’ll just write a letter instead.

Maybe just write a letter to clarify whatever he wrote, that way you know it’s accurate.

Afternoon all, I’ve read over the last few threads and wow - isn’t this such a difficult, stressful and sometimes degrading process for us? I’m currently waiting another two years for my child to have their first assessment for Autism! I feel absolutely broken as it is, she’s been self harming and I’ve had to leave my job.

Just for info - My scan date was December 19th and I’ve had a text from DWP today to say they are looking at my claim. My daughter’s behaviour and emotions have only worsened since December but as she masks at school and we’ve no official diagnosis, I’m expecting a refusal.

Anxiouslywaitingmum · 03/04/2024 14:57

So I called again, I got straight through, no music just straight through. The man I spoke to said it's with a dm, and he also said putting notes on doesn't affect the claim, it's more for them to read when we call so not really worth doing. The DM doesn't read the notes!!!!
So I'm absolutely none the wiser!! 🤣 Half hour ago it wasn't with a DM and now it is 🤷🏻‍♀️ I won't hold my breath 🤣

Danielle000 · 03/04/2024 14:58

So I called this morning at 9am and was told my child was awarded MRC LRM my scan date was the 12/12🙌🏻

The lady I spoke to sounded confused that I hadn’t received a payment and checked my bank details all correct and said it could come anytime today how long do you wait to receive back pay does anyone know? I called last week on Thursday and they hadn’t made a decision then so I don’t even know what day they awarded my little one😩

I hope you all hear soon I’ve been a silent watcher for a while 🥰xx

Hi, my daughter was awarded mrc on the 30th March for anxiety and self harm,
I was fully expecting a decline as she has no "official" diagnosis, but all evidence from GP and hospital visits for self harm to back up what I had written was sent with the forms, don't give up hope x

I didn't receive a text, I called at 9am this morning, the man I spoke to told me it's not with a dm and he couldnt tell me when it would go to one, (.when I have been told since last week it was with one)
So when he hung up I called straight back and the lady I spoke to told me my daughter had been awarded on the 30th,
Couldn't make it up 🤦‍♀️

Thank you for this and also sending you a big hug. I hope she is as well and healthy as can be. Can I ask, did her emotions worsen after starting secondary school? With my daughter, the sensory issues around foods and clothings have been there since she was a toddler but it’s during the last year of primary that the emotions and anxiety became apparent and then starting secondary school last September has been absolutely awful. I’ve lowered demands over Easter and although she doesn’t wash, her bedroom is an awful mess (I’m not allowed in) and she only eats junk food, we’ve only had angry outbursts every other day which is much better.

Wow! And that's exactly why I called back, although not sure who I believe.
I called and was told not with a DM yet, I then called back half hour later and then it was with one

TheHeadOfTheHouse · 03/04/2024 15:38

Just rang, scan date 15/12. They have said it’s with the decision maker but the decision maker may have other cases to look at it and she couldn’t tell me how soon we would have a decision.

have been told it could take until 6th May

🙄

My daughter started secondary school 3 years ago, but has missed the last 2.5years due to anxiety and panic ,so yes it got massively worse after starting,
So last November I officially de-registered her so I could home educate, but that hasn't gone to plan either,
She spends 20+ hours a day in her room in the dark, her hygiene is extremely poor, her bedroom resembles the local tip,
I have to clear the house of anything u could think of to prevent her self harming, and when she can't find anything to use she will punch a wall untill her knuckles break or are deformed,

Camhs didn't think she was in need of their service,
But after another hospital visit over the weekend they have re-referred her,
But in the mean time we can now afford to get her private counselling thanks to her award.
I do feel for you as I know exactly what you're going through. X

The gentleman I spoke to first wasn't "english" (and no disrespect to him at all)
But he really sounded like he had no clue what he was talking about, and wouldn't tell me anything other than it wasn't with a dm,
When I re-dialled, the lady was English and told me everything from award start date to end date, amounts and dates when to expect payments,
I think it all depends on who picks up the phone when it's your turn to be answered.x
