@Emmajm85 I do hope putting in a child benefit claim doesn't confuse the nino up 😂

Leopardprintleelan · 03/04/2024 11:12

Scan date 22/12 received 2 letters and just got the "still looking at your claim" text today.

katiewil · 03/04/2024 11:18

Scan date 15/12
Been told today that it wasn't with case manager yet.. told them that I have been told it was with CM for past 3 weeks then he changed stories and told me that it is actually with CM but will still be 20 weeks for a decision

Then told me that I need to ring at 22 weeks as even though a decision is made at 20 weeks they don't tell me a decision until 22 weeks Confused

Wish I never rang now as he has stressed me out lol

😂 I thought the same. I called child benefit before I applied to check it wouldn’t cause problems, she said it will be absolutely fine and if a NIno is generated for DLA before child benefit they will just use the same number. Sometimes 2 numbers are generated, she said that’s fine too as they are only temporary NInos or reference numbers so won’t cause any problems. She sounded very convincing so I hope it’s right 😂 xx

Emmajm85 · 03/04/2024 11:02

🙄 I literally don’t think there’s anything we can do to hurry things along 🙈
hopefully after Friday they’ll get their arses into gear because we will be over 20 weeks. Here’s hoping anyway 😄 xx

Really hope so xx

I had this thought as I sent off my Child benefit claim. Because they are generating a NI number at the same time aren’t they 😂😂

Luckily I was expecting the text soon, so didn't have that heart stopping moment thinking it was a decision text haha

sjm100 · 03/04/2024 10:40

@Mammy1979 This is my concern also, my DD turns 16 in May, I've applied to DLA for ASD/ADHD issues, we were declined on 04/03 due to no diagnosis as I'm struggling to get her on the pathway as she masks in school, was put into MR straight away, which are now taking 11 weeks which is the day after my daughter turns 16.

I’m sorry to hear this, it’s such a concern as filling in the DLA forms in the first instance is I believe one of the most difficult things a parent can do for so many different reasons. Would be so helpful if helplines gave straight consistent answers instead of vague or cloak and dagger

It is, I didn't realise how much more I did for her compared to my son, especially as family member say I baby her, and she doesn't try to do things because I do them, honestly filling out that form was brutal!! Hand on heart I know if I didn't she wouldn't even get to school! Good luck with your case xx

Yes I thought it might confuse them 😂

MLW92 · 03/04/2024 12:32

@Nickij2024 - my son is diagnosed and had 30 pages of evidence & only got MRC & LRM with a 6 year award, but I've seen people with no evidence at all awarded HRC but they only seem to get a 1-2 year award, I think they give shorter awards for people with no diagnosis, but seem to be better rates for some strange reason which makes no sense, I assume they're only short awards so when they're due for a renewal that they have been seen by a professional as the waiting lists are shocking for a diagnosis.

@mrsclarke89 thats actually awful. 😞

@kristie198 howwww are you still here, what the hell.
