@mummyto3littlebeautys no I've never heard of that x I'm going to look into it x I know some places do private assessment - he is diagnosed with a global delay so I'm unsure if that's the same thing as a learning disability but it doesn't go into much depth about capabilities just his observations from his diagnosis appointment x

Oh yeah 🫣 thanks for letting me know, ill call them Thursday and hopefully someone can tell me what my decision was, its so stressful

The researcher I’ve read on intellectual disability is all to do with problem solving processing speed adaptive functionings and so much more. He was put down the pathway to complete intellectual disability assessments and autism assessment! I had never heard of it before till I got a letter stating what he had to have it’s funded as well so they have to apply for it to take place! How old is your little one x @Aussielover

Haha!! I think I'm going to call in the morning, and speak to the normal one so I get a straight answer...or maybe not, who knows 🤔🤷‍♀️ lol x

@Sloulou20 I’m not actually sure when I was awarded as I hadn’t called in a couple of weeks and just saw the money there. It was 17+1 weeks after my scan date so I must have been awarded in the 16th week. Never got a text message.

@4beautifulkiddies that’s good to know - didn’t want to have to wait a further 6 weeks or so for a letter! I’ve worked out rates but don’t know length of award and really don’t want to have to call.

Just wanted to add my 3yr 5m DD has GDD. I was under the impression this is the term used between the ages of 3-5. Once they hit 5, then I believe they can investigate if its an intellectual disability.

I rang and somehow got put through to someone saying all I can do is send out claims. What are the options other than 512? Because I can't get through. I'm fuming I rang dead on 9 as well. 😭😭. Think I've been blocked from ringing haha x

I believe an Education Psychologist would, so perhaps the education setting they are in can arrange this? Have they done things like an IEP or EHCP? Because surely the natural progression once child is 5 would be to seek the assessment. Failing that I'd seek advice via the peadiatrician if you are still under them or your HV if you still speak with them as your child is not quite 5 yet? My daughter is under the Specialist HV team who deal with SEN children so I'd probably ask there.

That's as much as I can gather from it as were not at that stage yet, so maybe others are more in the know!

Yes I just re did it and got 523. I'll have to do it tomorrow now, I haven't got it in me to sit on hold for an hour with a teething baby 😭😭😭. Let me know how you get on? X
