Hi, I’ve been watching this thread and thought I would update for anyone still waiting. My 3 year old has been awarded middle rate care until October 2025. Scan date was 13.11. Good luck to everyone.

Shaf89 · 07/03/2024 12:22

Congrats on all the awards today! So happy for your little ones 🙏🏼

EasygoinyAmy · 07/03/2024 12:22

MrsW12 · 07/03/2024 12:24

Cut me off twice now🤦‍♀️ third time lucky getting through hopefully!

Fudgie9922 · 07/03/2024 12:29

@Lolly966 I hope so but to be fair the guy said he wasn't even with a cm yet and then when I questioned it he said oh let me check and was typing away for about 10 mins then said oh yeah you will here by the 11th of March I said oh yay that's my birthday he was a sweet chap but didn't give me much hope as the questions I asked such as do I send this in and whatever I don't feel I have enough evidence he said oh you will be alright and yeah never answered my original questions so 😀

Has anyone done and MR?
my scan date was 9th July, asked for a birth certificate to prove I had a child (which they lost), then asked for more information At Christmas- which i sent first week in January- second week in January I got a letter saying it had been declined, called and they hadn’t scanned the additional information…I’ve appealed it via MR, not heard anything- called today to be told it’s going to be another 6-8 weeks!

I thought MRs were done within 2 weeks!

I’ve had to take 9 days off work in February for All my daughter’s appointments! She’s under 3 different consultants, has ng top ups & on multiple medications per day! WTF?!

@NGTMamma I started a MR just over 2 weeks ago - was told on phone 6-8 weeks but I have since received a letter stating 11 weeks.

If I recall there's a few people who are at the 11 and 9 week MR time

Lolly966 · 07/03/2024 12:37

@Fudgie9922 sorry so it’ll be with a dm by the 11th of march or a decision? I feel the same as you that I haven’t sent enough evidence but been on the waiting lists for months and not heard anything yet it’s just a waiting game! Well I hope you have good news on your birthday!

@kristie198 yes again😩 Honestly I feel like it’s a sign for me not to call up😩😂 but I’ve not called once in the 15 weeks waiting so wanted an update x

MrsW12 · 07/03/2024 11:59

This is fantastic news. I’m so pleased for you. Thank you for replying x

I wish you all the best. It's so hard. My son (twin 2) hasn't got a diagnosis but on the ASD pathway, he does have a grade 2 HIE (brain injury) from birth not sure what affects that's had but he is under senco in mainstream. He has been given a higher award than his twin sister who has had an asd diagnosis learning disabilities and sensory diagnosis a month after her 3rd birthday. She is on her second year in reception (her twin brother in year 1) and going to tribunal for a Sen school due to refusal as lack of space. She has swallowed stuff at school, been on a reduced timetable, non verbal, in nappies behind by 3 years no understanding etc. (done a coc forms for her 28th Nov) she gets MRC.

The point of the rambling is no one knows your child best but you. You fight and you keep fighting. I wish I done an MR for my daughter 2 years ago but I didn't have the energy, I also wished I applied before her diagnosis. You all need to keep going. I wish everyone the best. The struggle is huge and the stress is massive. I hope everyone gets the awards they need for there children. Massive respect for any parent doing there best x

Try calling with private number. Not sure why but in previous threads I’ve seen people write this and when I’ve ever been cut off, I’ve done the same and it’s worked that way.

Lolly966 · 07/03/2024 12:44

@Shaf89 ooo I didn’t know that! Thank you I’ll give that a try if I get cut off again, How do you call with a private number?

Fudgie9922 · 07/03/2024 12:44

@Lolly966 he said a decision will be made by that date i will know via text and a letter but because at first he said it hasn't even been looked at so how a decision can be made in 4 days is shocking I doubt I will hear anything by that date if I do it will be a decline because no way is that enough time to ring docs and nursery because I asked them yesterday the dla hasn't contacted them about my son so far ... so pass

Muvva1981 · 07/03/2024 12:46

Just got off the phone after speaking to a lovely man. My little man has been awarded MRC . Backdated to 15th Nov which is the first Wednesday after I called for forms on the 9th Nov. Scan date was 30/11. Two days ago when I called the lady said no decision had been made and it would be another 3-4 weeks. So glad I called again. What a relief.

As my son doesn’t have his diagnosis yet all I submitted was senco reports, SLT reports and copies of acceptance onto the asd pathway letter.

Any idea when the backpay lands in the bank ? I’m with Monzo so it shows incoming pending payments 2-4 days in advance so now I’m watching the bank like a hawk.

Do i notify UC now as I know the date he was awarded from or wait for the letter to arrive ?

Lolly966 · 07/03/2024 12:48

@Fudgie9922 ohhh that is strange isn’t it, saying it’s not been looked at but you should have a decision in 4 days time.. it’s shocking how they don’t stick to one answer when you call; some people get told it’s not even with a DM then get a text on the same day saying they qualify, there’s no system to it at all, well I’ve got my fingers crossed you that you’ll get the decision your child deserves! Nothing worse than waiting this long x

I think you can update straight away from what I've read so you put claiming dla from whatever date it was awarded from also a huge congratulations I must have the slowed dm known to the dla 🤣🤣🤣

EasygoinyAmy · 07/03/2024 12:51

@Muvva1981 that's such good news. I want to phone now sooo bad.

Fudgie9922 · 07/03/2024 12:51

@Lolly966 I know its so frustrating but he genuinely seemed like he was helping and like I said previously he was typing away and looking at it for a good 10 mins so maybe he found that it was with a dm already but yet didnt tell me just said 11th March decision I have my fingers crossed for you and everyone who is still waiting x

Lovingangels01 · 07/03/2024 12:51

Would anyone be able to help? I’ve been awarded MRC & LMR and I claim ESA I’ve seen people commenting on universal credit but as I don’t claim that I’m not sure what I do? Do I have to call ESA am I entitled to extra. Thank you

bonz2023 · 07/03/2024 12:52

@Muvva1981 I was told on Monday she's been awarded and I received back pay today, it showed in my monzo on Tuesday

Motti · 07/03/2024 12:54

Reading all these responses I’m wondering how likely we’ll be to be awarded anything. I partly ask as I was declined for PIP first time for incurable cancer but should hopefully be awarded after Macmillan supported me with the claim. But DD is autistic & no longer attending school as it was too overwhelming (now has an EHCP). Requires a lot of support with outings & needs a lot of prompting in terms of care needs. Have people found there is quite a lot of inconsistency in who is awarded & who isn’t?
