@Amycroft I’m no good with number or anything regarding this kind of thing but the amount you get from uc is a monthly amount not weekly are you adding the element amount as per weekly instead of monthly ?

RainsbowandBunnies · 15/02/2024 17:23

@Amycroft ohh I see I don't know then maybe ask them how they calculated the amount? I don't trust UC as far as I can throw them the fact they don't apply the backdate and people have to beg for weeks is really wrong x
If you don't have any deductions it should be however many months your owes x the 642 surely... x

WhereDidTheTimeGo888 · 15/02/2024 17:32

@Jessyjay11 it sounds like school are just taking their time with stuff tbh. I wouldn’t pay too much attention to the DM or CM thing either, they seem to say different things all the time.

nothing is quick about this process but as long as you get a good outcome, that’s all that matters. 🤞🏻 for you x

mummyof3girlsx · 15/02/2024 17:35

@bonz2023 well I’m just stalking this page 🤣 if I start seeing people being awarded near our dates I’m going to give in and call 🙈 so just take it a day at a time haha x

panceke · 15/02/2024 17:36

Just to let you guys know that when you call DLA you can request for a text to be sent once a decision has been made from a DM (which is what I did) - I'm yet to get a text for mine though ❤

Scan date 16/10

Tiredmummy1235 · 15/02/2024 17:36

@1slamkh it’s crazy how they working mines the 9th. But someone from the 15th November was awarded today. It boggles my mind.

I'm not doing anything until at least 27th then it's 16 weeks, then I might call, I'm just to scared of the answer 😂😂

Emma2345 · 15/02/2024 17:44

@Amycroft hi hun have you taken in to account that some months have 5 weeks and sometimes when paid days early due to payment dates falling on weekends excetra if we have to wait 4 weeks and 5 days for UC payment again we don’t get any extra even tho it’s 4 days over UC isn’t paid every 4 weeks exactly so I rekon that’s why it might be lower then what you expected but I would definitely chase it up with them x

@panceke I requested a text numerous times when decision made still waiting 😂

Emma2345 · 15/02/2024 17:56

Hi guys also everyone confused on scan dates and people getting awarded after and before when I rang today I mentioned this and how it was all so confusing and unfair and they explained it by it goes off the day you ring up also for example if you rang up on the 9th of September to request forms and you took the full 6 weeks to send your forms back then your scan date would be late October begining November compared to someone who rang up on the 15th September and only took 1 week to send them back then your scan date will be around beginning of October but the person who took the 6 weeks would of been waiting longer he did say it’s between 17-20 weeks from the day you request your forms before your decision is made not sure how true this is but hope this helps x

@Emma2345 @mumtumok @RainsbowandBunnies ive added another note to my journal to see how it's been done but yeah I also didn't think about that tbh! It's all so confusing I just think sometimes They underpay unless someone questions them!

Emma2345 · 15/02/2024 18:16

@Amycroft yes I would 100% question it I did have something less then I calculated last year when I was awarded and that’s what they said to me but that was only about £200 difference yours it’s quite a lot x

They still haven’t updated to reflect disabled child element because it’s still sat in some decision makers inbox and has been since 18/1! The carer element was approved same day but no back pay because they said they’d wait for disabled child decision to approved and then pay the total backpay in one payment. Carer element was added to my next statement at end of Jan and had the payment for that month as part of normal payment, but they didn’t update previous statements until today when I asked. I’ve been nagging every few days but they just keep saying it takes as long as it takes and there’s no set timeframe which is even more frustrating than waiting for the DLA decision in the first place!

Edited

Both elements have been added to my most recent statement, dated today, but only had letter for CE but no back pay yet... Only updated on the 12th Feb though. No letter for DE yet neither... Think they just pick and choose how they do it half the time!

Hi, i phoned up 29/08 for my forms and took the full 6 Wks and was scanned on 12/10 (even though I sent it back beginning October) so just over 24wks since I phoned. I still haven’t heard anything yet. I’ve phoned and it’s with a DM, but they don’t know how long for.

Think I’ve lost the will at this point! 😂

UpsideDown12 · 15/02/2024 18:44

Just to add a little more context to my sons payment this morning, as I may have mistook the "scan" date. I don't want to bring false hope.

I submitted the forms on the 15th October (knew nothing about calling for forms). I got a letter on the 29th November stating they had "recieved" my documents on the 15th November. The 15/11 is the date I refer to as my scan date.

My 3yo son has mild ASD; though undiagnosed he is on the ASD pathway. He is pre-verbal, with quite a few S&L sessions under our belt for his age. We had the GDR pathway documents, S&L reports and a letter from his nursery - that's about it. We were as honest as can be on the forms, with his needs and abilities.

I am honestly surprised that the high rate was awarded. Hope this helps.

SipSipHooray · 15/02/2024 18:46

Parking here, scan date 30/10, 2 letters and one text so far, just a waiting game now!

mummyof3girlsx · 15/02/2024 18:50

@SipSipHooray I’m 2/11 good luck! Keep us updated x

SipSipHooray · 15/02/2024 18:52

@mummyof3girlsx thank you and I will do! Best of luck to you too! Getting very nervous now.

mummyof3girlsx · 15/02/2024 18:53

@UpsideDown12 i really didn’t send much so I don’t have much hope! Suspected adhd, I sent in letter from teacher that was sent to gp for referral for assessment with all difficulties and actions put into place at school etc. sen support plan that school have put into place & just filled in the form as best as I could. I then called and let them know she has been accepted for an assessment so we’re just waiting on the date.. let’s wait and see. My scan date 2/11 x

mummyof3girlsx · 15/02/2024 18:54

@SipSipHooray me too. The wait has been awful hasn't it. Really have everything crossed x

UpsideDown12 · 15/02/2024 18:56

@mummyof3girlsx You can only do your best. That's what I told myself. I really do hope everyone gets what they need and deserve.

Emma2345 · 15/02/2024 19:48

@WhereDidTheTimeGo888 oh no I wonder if they just tell you what you want to hear or maybe just give different information to people all the time hopefully not much longer for you now 24 weeks is a very long time waiting x

I honestly think they just say anything I rang Tuesday just for an update the lady looked but said she needed to go and speak to someone higher up so put me on hold she came back and told me I should have my decision by the last week in feb. Think everyone is just getting told something different every time . Scan date 15/11 x
