@Emma2345 I phoned up this morning and the lady I spoke to has put a note on the system to say its on the way but I've checked checked the tracking and it's finally there, hopefully I hear by the end of the week now! X

@LancsMcG I asked for help with MR from CAB everybody’s child is different but feel my son was penalised as no help needed at school they were amazing and would recommend anybody to use them if unsure quick phone call with my reasons of disagreement he then drafted a letter phoned me the next day to see if it sounded ok sent me it out in the post to sign then I forwarded it on if my son gets turned down again he advised to take it to tribunal really dont want this another 11 ish weeks is going to drive me crazy as it is lol

@Lisa3kids yes it's been bad enough waiting 18 weeks - let's hope that they get to them sooner (there was another post earlier today about them employing 100 new staff, including 50 case managers...11 weeks seems excessive

Beckylouise000 · 19/02/2024 15:54

@Linzi2girls4boys congrats! Did you receive a text at all or just find out over the phone?I rang up today and was told it’s with a dm and I’ll hear something this week scan date 20/10

Thank you.
I caved and decided to give them a call today, wasn't hopeful to be honest. But so pleased, I have been really anxious about it for the last 10 days or so.
Hope you get a decision soon and it's good news.

Marie156 · 19/02/2024 16:14

Does anyone know how many weeks in is best to call for an update? I will be 15 weeks since scan date on Wednesday, I've only received two letters and one text on Friday asking for bank details, nothing more.

Beckylouise000 · 19/02/2024 16:20

@Marie156 I’d ring if they’ve asked for bank details and use it as an excuse to ask for an update too, I phoned today (nearly 18 weeks) told them about a new upcoming paediatrician apt and used it as an excuse to ask for an update too

I already rang on Friday for the bank details but the lady wasn't nice, she said all they called for is the bank details and wouldn't tell me anything, she was rushing me off the phone so anxious to call again incase it's another rude call handler

Sammyjane26x · 19/02/2024 16:26

I just remembered my daughter has a peads appointment in 3 weeks so I could also mention that, what did you say when you called please if you don't mind me asking?

Beckylouise000 · 19/02/2024 16:31

@Marie156 yes definitely do!I asked them if I could update them on his appointment and the gentleman said that he’ll make a note on the system to flag up for dm and that it’s with a dm now but them knowing about appointments helps with decisions, I didn’t ask how long it had been with a dm but he just stated I’ll have a decision by the end of the week.

Literally just on hold to DLA when I came across this thread!

So, hearing anyone else’s experience would be helpful.

Daughter received a 7 year award in February of 2017. Massive oversight on my part but only thought to myself about 4 weeks ago about it being ‘up’ at the end of this month. Hadn’t recieved any letters or forms to fill in.

Contacted DLA and was told that forms had been sent out to me in October (I hadn’t recieved them) but that they’d send another form out. Filled it in as soon as I received it then sent it recorded delivery which they received just over a week ago.

I called DLA a couple of days before they received it to express how worried I was that my daughters DLA was going to stop at the end of this month along with my carers allowance too and would leave me in quite serious hardship. I was assured by the advisor that my renewal forms would be looked at and a decision made before the current award ends. I am however very sceptical about this given not only this thread but that I have also heard there is possibly a 20 week wait for a decision to be made?

Can anyone advise if the information I was given over the phone last week was correct please or if the wait is still expected to be around 20 weeks for a renewal decision?

Thanks all :)

they have to keep making payments for the current DLA award until the renewal is processed, so although it’s due to end at the end of the month, if it takes until June for them to process and make a decision then they have to continue the payments until June :)

Emma2345 · 19/02/2024 17:17

Does anyone know how long it takes for evidence to be scanned on to system ? They only received it today but if it’s taking 4 weeks like I think I’ve read I will be 19weeks from requesting forms and 17 weeks from scan date worried that it could go to decision maker before scanning evidence and they could make a decision without it and it not be awarded or not the rate I no he is entitled too do you think it’s best to ring for them put a note on system about extra evidence sent x

Scan date 3/11

Anybody heard back around this time please??

Haven't rang and I really haven't got the courage either😝😂

This wait is dreadful hahaha

mummyof3girlsx · 19/02/2024 17:25

@oliviaxxx I’m 2/11 called this morning to change bank details.. it’s due to go to DM this week so hopefully not much longer now! Apparently they’ve employed over 100 people and 50 of them are DM’s so they are working at around 16 weeks now before it hits DM but could be sooner.. fingers crossed for us x

Oh I really do hope it's not long for us both!! I've avoided all contact and put it to the back of my mind, but now it's all I'm thinking about🙁
I got a text on Monday saying they still looking at it, I'm a bag of nerves bloody hell xx

My daughter has a social skills assessment session with SALT this week and Paediatric Neuro appointment in March, is it worth me calling to update this do you think?

This wait is dreadful hahaha

I have a new claim for twin 1 scanned on 9th Nov an coc scanned 28th Nov for twin 2. The wait this time has been awful, 2 years ago when I applied for twin 2 it was 8 weeks! Hopefully ours will go to the DM at some point next 2 weeks and not long from there. Fingers crossed for you as well and everyone else waiting x

Emma2345 · 19/02/2024 17:35

@oliviaxxx im 22/11 so between 4-6 weeks wait for me I rekon you’ll be going to DM anytime and probably have a decision in the next week or 2 xx

@bonz2023 id say so! If it makes them make a decision easier I’d say update them about any new appointments you’ve had come through, I had my sons paediatric appointment come through a couple weeks after I’d sent the forms off and wasn’t going to bother saying anything but thought it’s more evidence so will probably help and being nearly 18 weeks I wanted an update lol!

I've got my phone on loud everyday, checking for texts hahaha. The wait wouldn't be bad if it was a yes but not knowing the outcome is killing me off.

I'll let everyone know when I get an outcome xx

Emma2345 · 19/02/2024 17:44

@oliviaxxx i was literally saying the same earlier like if we found out we was awarded but took 6 months to process claim and payments I wouldn’t be bothered about the wait it’s the not knowing and thought of being declined that gets me soo worried about it especially when we are entitled to it I don’t think I’ve got it in me for a MR if I get declined but I’ve got my 🤞for you and hope it’s good news x

I'm hoping I've sent enough evidence but really doubting myself now, I should've included her nicu records and other bits.
Should've would've could've and all that jazz😵‍💫🤣

I wish you the best of luck too. Let us all know how you get on ❤️ xx

Do you think informing them of an upcoming appointment will push the wait for a decision back further so they can see what the outcome of the appointment is first? I'm unsure what my child's paediatrician appointment in march is for, it will either be for panel results for diagnosis or genetic testing results

Beckylouise000 · 19/02/2024 18:00

@Marie156 im not sure, my sons appointment is for a Tourette’s diagnosis, dla isnt diagnosis based but needs based as far as I’m aware. I was just told I’ll get a decision this week and to make them aware in April when he has his appointment what the outcome of that is, you could ring up and ask but I can’t imagine they’d push it back with it not being diagnosis based to be awarded x
