@Emma2345 when’s your scan date? Good luck to u too xx I got award mid January for my middle daughter that wait was a good 20 odd weeks it’s so tough we’ll worth the wait if successful I tried to forget about my youngest but it’s hit me now again 😂 she has epilepsy and suspected asd/adhd just hope she’s successful so can get her what she needs to make her life a bit easier xx

Marie156 · 19/02/2024 13:12

I had a text on Friday asking me to call them to give them bank details but have not heard anything since. It's been difficult to not get my hopes up, I was fine waiting until I received that text now I'm anxious and overthinking if that means my child has been awarded or not. My scan date is 08/11 so it's unlikely mine has gone to a DM yet

Any November scan dates been awarded lately x?

I'm November 6th just called to see if my more evidence has been received.

The lady told me currently working on 6th October to 31st lol. No idea how true that is and told me to call back in 4 weeks if I haven't heard.. the wait is killing me.

Emma2345 · 19/02/2024 13:17

@Kmc2303 oh really yeah wait is filling me 2 al asd 2 weeks to that then my scan date is 22/11 feels like a life time of waiting 🤣🤣 think it’s more the thought of getting a decline if I knew for sure we was getting awarded and it just took that long to process I wouldn’t be bothered one bit 😩😩 x

Literally just on hold to DLA when I came across this thread!

So, hearing anyone else’s experience would be helpful.

Daughter received a 7 year award in February of 2017. Massive oversight on my part but only thought to myself about 4 weeks ago about it being ‘up’ at the end of this month. Hadn’t recieved any letters or forms to fill in.

Contacted DLA and was told that forms had been sent out to me in October (I hadn’t recieved them) but that they’d send another form out. Filled it in as soon as I received it then sent it recorded delivery which they received just over a week ago.

I called DLA a couple of days before they received it to express how worried I was that my daughters DLA was going to stop at the end of this month along with my carers allowance too and would leave me in quite serious hardship. I was assured by the advisor that my renewal forms would be looked at and a decision made before the current award ends. I am however very sceptical about this given not only this thread but that I have also heard there is possibly a 20 week wait for a decision to be made?

Can anyone advise if the information I was given over the phone last week was correct please or if the wait is still expected to be around 20 weeks for a renewal decision?

Thanks all :)

Emma2345 · 19/02/2024 13:19

@Mariehanna 22/11 and yeah me too not it’s almost 15 weeks I’m stressing more I applied for suspected ASD for my almost 3 year old I was awarded last year for my other son but it’s not always straight forward some get awarded some get declined for the same things I think depends who’s desk it lands on 😩 zx

@Emma2345 fingers crossed for u and your little one, yeah it’s so hard waiting I’d be ok if I knew it was a definite award I’d be well more chilled about it then the worry of the renewals an stuff to come I can’t handle the stress 😂 xx hopefully by middle March u hear something! Xx. Let me know how u get on

Emma2345 · 19/02/2024 13:23

@Rubysmama77 hi hun I sent my forms off November for renewal due to end in march was really worried I rang out the blue begining of Feb to find out and we was awarded again I’m unsure how long it took as I wasn’t chasing it up all the time but i do not believe its taking 20 weeks for the renewal they usually make a decision 2 weeks before ur claom is due to end but I personally think they will look at your forms quicker due to how close the date is to award ending it isn’t ur fault you didn’t receive the forms when they supposedly sent them I wouldn’t worry tooo much x

Emma2345 · 19/02/2024 13:31

@Rubysmama77 your welcome hun hopefully you get some good news when they answer and they’ve made a decision to award again can I ask when your claim is supposed to end xx

OP posts:
Rubysmama77 · 19/02/2024 13:38

@Emma2345 my award is due to end on the 25th. I’ve literally just managed to get through and it was confirmed that they will make a decision before my end date so fingers crossed. He did say that since I’d called he was now going to send it to the relevant department so it might be worth you giving them another call a couple of weeks before your award ends lovely so if they haven’t already, then can then do the same for you. I’m currently on low rate mobility and middle rate care for my daughter, I’m just hoping they don’t decide to reduce my award! Xx

Entwistle03 · 19/02/2024 13:39

Scan date 25/10 calling now to see if any news. I'm becoming more and more certain it's a decline. Especially if they contact community paeds as I put had an upcoming appt but they gave as a 12 month discharge as say what me and preschool describe is more adhd and they don't do assesment for this at 4. Although this doesn't change his behaviour and his needs which what they supposed to decide on but dunno lost all confidence since this

Rubysmama77 · 19/02/2024 13:40

@Emma2345 sorry lovely, just seen you’ve already said you’ve been awarded again 🤦‍♀️ Xx
