@Kkh1 @Hayz0711 @WhereDidTheTimeGo888 So decided to call this morning. Told my daughter has been awarded till 22/03/2027. Payment due tomorrow. £2100 due (scan date 11/10) - not sure what is? Thank you for this platform - helped my anxiety. She said a few more claims were being dealt with from that week - so hopefully you will hear some good news.

I have just got off the phone to a lovely guy. He has confirmed waiting times have reduced and they are currently at 16 weeks. My scan date is 01/11 and he said it's not with a decision maker yet but its very close to being picked up by one. I sent in extra evidence on 05/02/24 and this has been scanned on and attached to my claim

Hi everyone could I please request some help
my son has been awarded HRC , I am currently receiving universal credit and am currently working 8 hours per week
what do I have to do now in terms of claiming careers allowance an updating universal credit ? Do I claim careers allowance or go through careers allowance through UC please ? I’m so confused guys ?!xx

WhereDidTheTimeGo888 · 19/02/2024 11:15

@Kkh1 did they say when it was awarded?

LancsMcG · 19/02/2024 11:21

Scan date 20/10

Awarded LRC (phoned this morning to get an update)- but have appealed (completed the form with the call handler)

Does anyone have any experience of appealing - how long you waited for new decision - and what the decision was

Thanks in advance

No they did not say they just said he was awarded not sure whether to call universal credit and update my circumstances now or wait for my letter ? Xx

WhereDidTheTimeGo888 · 19/02/2024 11:41

@Kkh1 I don’t really know how it all works with UC. I suppose if you know all the details and the dates then you could. I’ve seen other people on here mention it but I can’t remember what they’ve said. Sorry I’m not much help xx

BabaganooToo · 19/02/2024 11:42

Has anyone had an experience of being rejected for a young child? DS is only 18 months, he has vision problems which require assistance. His nursery suggested we apply for DLA, but unfortunately we've been rejected. I assume it's because of his age, as most children need a lot of assistance at this time. Is it worth appealing? Or should we reapply when he's older?

Mariehanna · 19/02/2024 11:43

JB233026 · 19/02/2024 12:36

Emma2345 · 19/02/2024 13:04

@BabaganooToo hi I would deffo appeal I applied for my LO before he was 1 and was awarded for him if you decide to appeal write as much information in appeal going in to as much detail as possible and wording things better helps so much more for example just writing my child can not see compared to my child has severe sight impairment due to this he requires a lot of care and attention as he falls down a lot and this can become dangerous or has become dangerous before as he bangs his head a lot or due to this he requires help to do such tasks as walking up and down stairs as he falls down them due to not being able to see them he requires help with and promoting to wear glasses he can not eat without help as he can not see food or drink fluids by himself as he can not see them ,, this is just examples of what ever extra care you may have to give him and what is required that you have give him due to the impairment excetra wording it better and writing all people he sees regarding this reports from them and appointments as much detail as possible and as much evidence you can get goes a long way hope advice this helps x
