@Nicole220825 aww I know the wait stresses you out. We applied for my daughter at end of last year and was awarded then was told in March to apply for our son. Only difference with him was it was the Scottish version. So I was stressing about that again but he was awarded too last month.

kinzzzz · 02/07/2022 13:40

So they could possibly be picking up my little ones this weekend too when did u start ur claim? They got mine on 4th march x

Mummy2boys1520 · 02/07/2022 14:16

@kinzzzz my change of circumstances was scanned December 13 they made decision in may, I asked for a mandatory reconsideration on may 24th and the decision maker called me today. But I reckon I'll find out Monday

kinzzzz · 02/07/2022 14:32

Ahh her being turned down was may 24th too all her new documents was scanned in on 14th ... i called to check if they received and they told me that it would be looked at on the 30th june but then when i called yesterday to see if she had been declined again they said it hadnt been picked up yet and can take 3-5 weeks 😫

Mummy2boys1520 · 02/07/2022 14:39

@kinzzzz see I was always told it would be 4 weeks. I also received a letter but that said could take up to 11 weeks. So all in all I think as long as I get the decision on Monday it would have been just under 6 weeks from asking for a mandatory reconsideration

kinzzzz · 02/07/2022 14:46

I think they just tell u stuff to get u off the phone sometimes lol cuz the guy told me when i asked for the receision that it would all be done and dusted by 8th july 🙈

Mummy2boys1520 · 02/07/2022 14:47

@kinzzzz I reckon you'll will be done week commencing 11th if it goes off 4 weeks

kinzzzz · 02/07/2022 14:53

I hope so its stressing me out 😫 its a long old process they gave my 11 year old it before the 8 weeks was up, 3 days before she was awarded. And i put those both in the same time. 11 year old is on medication for adhd/add i can only assume that is the reason she was awarded so quickly

Bournecrazy · 02/07/2022 16:16

I just got my 'sorry its took so long' letter. Going off the dates from others I'm estimating another 3 weeks before I hear anything again

Uz91 · 02/07/2022 16:31

@Legofigure thank you

Roseypossey · 02/07/2022 17:06

Hi polly, my daughters also 3 also not diagnosed and under assessment with cd, I sent a application scan date 28th April, can I just ask what evidences you sent if you don’t mind?

Polly421 · 02/07/2022 18:41

@Roseypossey I didn’t have a lot to send but what I did have was report from community nurse who referred her to see the paediatrician. It mentioned she showed signs of social communication disorder and autism traits. Then the community paediatrician told me during her assessment of my daughter to apply for DLA as she met criteria and would send us a report to send them. That covered diet, communication, behaviours, toileting and sleep routine and each section she wrote how my daughter was then wrote how it was different to child her own without extra needs. She wrote her observations from meeting my daughter, summary of plan going forward and one point was to apply for DLA as she met the criteria and shouldn’t be impact due to waiting list for autism assessment. She wrote on report to put her details down on form and if they required any further information to contact her directly. She then stated my daughter was referred for speech and language and her autism assessment.

Roseypossey · 02/07/2022 19:03

Thank you so much for your reply my daughters needs are exactly the same, I had a phone app with paediatrician after I sent my slags form, she has referred me to sleep, eat and toilet training workshops and sent over the report for the phone too, so u think it’s worth sending? Or shall I wait for a decision? I’ve sent over the first paediatric report, with speech and language, a nursery report, a copy of the application for ehcp and reports from sen and child development centre too. Thank you again x

Roseypossey · 02/07/2022 19:05

Omg dla forms not slag omg I don’t know how that happened mortified

Polly421 · 02/07/2022 19:29

@Roseypossey 🤣🤣 I knew what you meant. If you’ve still got time I would send it in, send anything in that can help back up what you’ve written on the form.

Polly421 · 02/07/2022 19:35

Plus it sounds like you’ve had a lot of evidence already that you sent in so fingers crossed your awarded without any hassle of MR. We didn’t have any nursery report or speech and language because she hasn't started them so I’m at her review we will have more stuff to send. Plus by them I’m hoping she transferred over to Scottish version. We applied earlier this year for my son and to me the form was much easier.

Roseypossey · 02/07/2022 20:01

Thank you, it’s been 10 weeks on Wednesday so not sure if I’ve got time left, she also has a face to face paediatric app next month so I might just wait and gather the rest.xx

kinzzzz · 02/07/2022 20:52

They refused my daughters claim shes 6 and currently having speech and language therapy 2ce a week at school shes seen a psychologist who has said she working at average for a 3 and a half and 4 and a half year old. His report says she needs an EHCP but they say she needs additional support but not extra attention 🙆‍♀️ she has no self care she cant dress herself properly but apparently this is all normal for a child of 6 🙈 she is also being referred for autism assessment and has no 3d vision or dept perception but her decision says she isnt deaf and blind 🤷‍♀️ i just dont understand how they work

Crazybrood · 02/07/2022 21:17

@kinzzzz this sounds a bit like my daughter. She has a GDD diagnosis but I feel she will get refused now after reading your comment. Did school write in agreement with what you had wrote?

kinzzzz · 02/07/2022 21:31

They have all information from senco teacher and referrals to psychologist direct line to contact the senco teacher ... but she never got the letter from herself for them in time for me to send off with other paperwork. I originally only sent the psychologist report off with the dla claim because i assumed that would be enough as it was the senco teacher who referred her and the fact she needed ehcp and has significant learning difficulties... but for the MR they have all paperwork from school referrals and my little ones emotional state and a letter from her eye consultant at the hospital just hoping that is enough for them now

GrapePearPea · 02/07/2022 22:56

My gosh how awful. More I read the more I’m convinced my dd will be turned down. She has been diagnosed with autism so I did try my best to get her needs across. I bet so many have to appeal.

kinzzzz · 03/07/2022 00:19

Im literally just thinking the MR is going to come back she isnt being awarded such a drag. Dont know what more i can do if she doesnt get it from all of the info they have now 😫

Lilbunnyfufu · 03/07/2022 01:59

DS (5) renewal paper work was scanned in March. His old award ended last month. When my husband called they told him a decision should be made before his next payment date this month.

Crazybrood · 03/07/2022 08:03

@kinzzzz I hope the MR decides in your favour. Maybe go into detail on your MR and explain it all like you’re explaining it to someone who needs it simplifying to understand. If not take it tribunal and have face to face so they can hear you tell them how much extra you have to do. I asked our senco if something my little one does is a typical 6 year old and she said no so if dwp think it is then she will get knocked back.
Think I may start preparing for an MR incase my little one gets knocked back because it’s sounding like she will. Your circumstances sound so much similar to mine except we haven’t had a physiologist yet. Our senco put on we are applying for an ehcp which has been done since I put the forms in.

good luck

@Uz91 yes inform tax credits once you get your award letter, ring them up and they’ll back date from the day you rang for the DLA form. Got my award letter Friday, rang them Friday afternoon & payment changes changed on the HMRC app yesterday. I’m being backdated £1303 then get £150 a week due to my son receiving HRC
