Carrying on the waiting right here!

Scan date 12 April, with a DM, no sign of a decision yet.

I'm the 10th May and still waiting which I think is strange has most mum's on here that had a scan date of 9th May had their decision around 2 weeks ago I think it depends on who's pile it is in and how quick they are getting threw them x

AuroraLilac · 10/08/2022 13:20

Mines the 25th and I was advised the same thing today when I rang. Last week when I rang I was told it was with a decision maker and i should hear this week, annoyingly I’ve seen on Facebook that people with scan dates in June already have decisions. I wish they would all say the same thing rather than getting our hopes up with the ‘it’s with the decision maker’ or ‘oh we are working to x date’.

MrsFortSQ recieved my letter today about carers stopping at the end of the month unless my sons dla gets renewed! His claim runs out on the 30th so I'll ring the Friday before I think to see if any decision has been made!

Hi!
Been following this thread for ages but didn't realise I still had an active account to post!
Just jumping in to join the endless wait 😭
My son (almost 3) has what I think they used to call 'classic' autism (not formally diagnosed yet thanks to VERY long waiting lists here but his GP, consultant, Portage worker - and me - all in agreement as it's just so painfully obvious in him). He's non-verbal, major sensory issues and meltdowns, huge sleep problems, very limited food (like, five safe foods currently) no reaction to pain, beyond clumsy, no spatial awareness, no sense of self, no sense of danger... the list goes on.
Applied for DLA late March of this year; got turned down start of July purely because "all children of this age have some difficulty sleeping" 🙄Like, they overlooked everything on the form, that was the only reason they gave for turning him down (they also spelt his name wrong and wrote 'she' twice)
Mandatory reconsideration went in the same day, so we're now at, what, seven weeks ish? And no decision yet. I rang yesterday and they said 'oh it's with a decision maker', but they've been saying that for weeks. It took three phone calls just to get them to send the statement of reasons out...
Firmly expecting another refusal and am already mentally preparing myself for appeal.
Just wanted to rant somewhere, now I'll go back to sitting quietly and waiting for the bad news and watching the thread again 😂

Hi I’m on week 12 waiting, I rang up Wednesday (yesterday) and they said it went too a case manager that morning. How long roughly does it take from there. Thanks x

SoleSurvivor111 · 11/08/2022 17:21

Ahhhh, apparently a good old whinge was all it took! Called them today and after literally an hour and a half on hold, I got through to a lovely chap who told me the boy is getting HRC, backdated to March. Thank god that's over (for now). I'm in absolute shock, I was expecting MRC at best.

Arne22 · 11/08/2022 17:23

Hi when did your forms get scanned x

SoleSurvivor111 · 11/08/2022 17:46

Noone ever told me a scan date, I didn't get a text or letter or anything. They've been proper rubbish. But I sent the claim 28.3 and so I'm guessing like, first few days of April.

Arne22 · 11/08/2022 18:08

ah ok. I’ve heard nothing either so thought I would call. Been waiting 12 weeks, yesterday they said it went too a case manager, I’m not sure how long it takes from now

SoleSurvivor111 · 11/08/2022 20:16

Mine was fourteen weeks from submission to the first decision, so probably about 13 weeks from scan date to decision. So hopefully not much longer for you now.

Momma25 · 11/08/2022 20:53

Looks like I’ll be waiting forever my letter came on the 14 July to say they had received it

Mummyofangel · 12/08/2022 10:27

Hi

just wanted to know if anyone else experienced similar thing to me I got my sons Dla which I was happy with til I saw on letter they said I only care throughout the day nothing about his night time when his awake all night til 5am... so I rang to see whys that she goes because all kids his age don’t sleep have problems sleeping seriously til 5am all kids r awake 🙄I’m like Yh okay but I’ll stil send his sleep diary take a look? Should I do MR or leave it..

Mummy2boys1520 · 12/08/2022 12:19

@Mummyofangel how old is your son. DLA are really strict when it comes to night award. What would you say your usual night look like for you.

Mummyofangel · 12/08/2022 12:39

@Mummy2boys1520 hi his 4 diagnosed asd on waiting list for adhd...I’ve been keeping diary for few months now he wakes up 11:30 every second day til 3:30 am he would go sleep around 330 then b up again after 20 minutes or most days after hour til 5...sometimes crying most days just awake banging on walls making music sounds running around in his bedroom trying to climb safety gate to go downstairs... his bedtime is 8 pm his used to it he would go bed 8 nd fall asleep after hour.. In claim form I didn’t explain myself properly about sleep tbh I wrote like his awake this time not gone into detail..

Mummy2boys1520 · 12/08/2022 12:45

@Mummyofangel they probably are going off his age but I would do a mandatory reconsideration and put it into detail but it's worth knowing that they could also change the decision you have already got.

Mummyofangel · 12/08/2022 12:54

@Mummy2boys1520 only reason I wanted to know from them I’ve seen kids similar age getting for sleep too.. I think mybe cuz his turning 5 soon on ther they mentioned they gna send renewal form before he turns 5 so I was confused thought award is for 2/3 years not few months

Mummy2boys1520 · 12/08/2022 12:55

@Mummyofangel the renewal will be for mobility as when he turns 5 he might qualify

Mummyofangel · 12/08/2022 12:58

@Mummy2boys1520 oh okay thank u 😊 for mobility she mentioned he didn’t get it because there’s nothing from medical professionals..

Mummy2boys1520 · 12/08/2022 13:02

@Mummyofangel They don't award mobility to under 5 unless they qualify for HRM but the mobility is so hard to get for ASD but not impossible as my son is 7 and I had to do a mandatory reconsideration and he has no diagnosis for anything yet but managed to get HRC and HRM but I sent so much evidence off

Mummyofangel · 12/08/2022 13:06

@Mummy2boys1520 yh it’s really hard when I did Dla I didn’t think they would give anything tbh...I sent evidence but not a lot deep down I was thinking it’s no lol but hopefully next time il know what to do not rush into things x

JonjoMonjo21 · 12/08/2022 13:40

I’ve rang again today... on week 12 has been with case manager since Tuesday. She said to call back middle of next week. So tired of waiting. Her case is quite complex due to it being a heart problem and then on top asthma and acidity panic attacks breathlessness etc but I sent of tons of evidence including EHCP. I’m unsure wether we will even get it. Totally losing hope

Imjustme12 · 14/08/2022 12:31

Hi, Im new here, so sorry if ive posted wrong. Just wondering if anyone has advice. I posted two DLA forms at the same time, for both my children, daughter aged 8, son aged 6. Ive phoned the helpline and they were both scanned on 2nd august. Basically, my daughter has a confirmed genetic condition that affects her behaviour and speech, because of this she needs lots of support at home and school, and I sent loads of supporting evidence from school and differenct consultants that she is under. My son is still on the waiting list to be tested, he has a 50 percent chance of having same condition, but his behaviour is more severe than my daughters. He has SEN at school as well as outreach input, SALT etc, and no awareness of dangers. I sent supporting info from school SENCO, as well as IEP's. However, my question is, when I phoned the helpline to confirm that they had received the DLA forms, they said that my daughters would be an 11 week wait, but my sons would be a 19 week wait...I dont understand why the massive difference in wait times. Can anyone help?

Mumof3b · 15/08/2022 10:51

Just phoned for a update, scan date is 10th June and they said looking at another 3 weeks x

Geordiemam33 · 15/08/2022 10:53

I rang this morning said looking at claims up to 24th may which is my scan date said should have a Decision by the end of the week and to look out for the text if awarded. once received can either call up or wait for letter.

Lianney84 · 15/08/2022 15:27

Hi just had a letter from dla saying sorry we haven't dealt with you claim etc. Mines a change off circumstances and scan date 24th June. Anyone know how long roughly it takes after receiving letter saying above ^
