DLA wait time 2022 Part 3

Scan date 12 April, with a DM, no sign of a decision yet.

Been following the thread the last week, after the wait finally got to me. My scan dates May 25th, spoken to three call handlers since last Tuesday who have all told me my claims with the DM!? I’m not sure I can take this waiting malarkey much longer, especially having seen people with June/July dates getting responses before what seems to be the entire of the May claims.

@Mumthreeboys my scan date was 11th May I rang on Thursday they told me decision was made nd I should get paid Tuesday. I didn’t get no letter yet and no text best to ring up Nd find out.. most likely ur decision is made check ur bank if u got online bank or call in morning nd get update on ur claim x

@Mummyofangel thank you for your reply. I'm glad you got awarded hopefully if your decision was made on Thursday and your payment is tomorrow I should hear this week I'm hoping fingers crossed as I'm the 10th May. If I don't hear by Friday I will try to pluck up the courage to ring and find out as I get anxiety talking to people I don't know especially over the phone. Hoping I hear before then so I don't have to ring lol thank you x

Is it normal for DM’s to have their decisions checked by someone else?

I’ve been waiting since scanned date 17th June.
haven't heard anything. This wi be 8 weeks Friday.

ive seen people be declined early, does this mean no news is good news?

@Mummyofangel they add it to your next payment on uc really quickly it’s just the back pay that takes ages x

@Mumof2gurls oh do they that’s okay then thank u x yesterday they msgd me asking y I told them late when I msgd on same day as Dla told me.. x

Yeah it’s really bad because they ask why you told them late! Honestly how can you tell them about somthing you haven’t been awarded! They told me I should have told them bin April when my claim was awarded from but I didn’t know I would be awarded they are hard work ….. have you claimed carers? Xx

Plus I don’t know about yours but mine ignores all my journel messages they are a pain in the ass xx

Do ur msgs as appointment they reply back quickly.. Yh I applied for carers but no reply from them either..

I am going off 19th may and called today they said it is with case manager, daughter has biscupid aortic valve, aortic stenosis, chronic asthma and also suffers panic attacks night and day along with hyperventilating. Sent to a of evidence along with EHCP Hoping for a yes. Does anyone know how long it takes after sitting with case manager, TIA XX

Same day as it went to case manager? So I’m not looking at waiting another 12 weeks 😂🙏

Our scan date is 6th of June and I must say my anxiety is through the roof. I'm on week 9 now. Good luck to all on their claims. Hopefully not too much longer to wait for my sons claim and we get good news that I know my son is entitled to and deserves.

Has anybody applied recently and know how long it's taking to scan forms? Posted mine on 27th July and heard nothing to say they've scanned them...

my dla for my daughter was scanned 10june, I got a letter 8th august to apologise for the delay.
shes not been diagnosed with anything yet, first peadeatrition appointment next week, waiting on a ECHP decision also which should be next week.
she self harms and have overdosed numerous times.
paedeatrion appointment is to assess for adhd or rule it out as may be bipolar.
does anyone think she’ll get dla? She’s 14.
jusging by this thread I shouldn’t be worried it’s taking so long as everyone else also waiting!

@HairyIgglePiggle I sent my sons a week before you and got the letter last week, took around 2 and a half weeks. The letter said they had received about a week after I sent the forms, which I think is the scanned date people mention (I'm new to this!).

I've just called them about sons claim renewal as scan date was 9th June. She said that it hasn't been looked at yet and it'll be toward end of September that it gets looked at. His allowance is due to end at the end of September 🙄

Just a query about DLA. I sent my DS's claim off mid-June, so I don't expect an award / response until September. He has been diagnosed with ASD and is also on the waiting list for ADHD. We paid privately for the ASD diagnosis. I had never really thought of him as being that different to a child of his age. After the diagnosis, it made me realise how 'different' he actually is and how much care he does need compared to a child of his own age. There are lots of things I just thought were normal, which in hindsight, aren't.

Do you think this will go against me, as on the diagnosis interview it says I had 'never thought of DS as that different' ?

I’ve just called for an update, yesterday she said was with case manager and today decision maker, are these the same thing or different? Will be 12 weeks tomorrow since it was scanned

Scan date 26th May. Spoke to them yesterday and was advised I need to wait another week to 10 days. They are currently working up to 19th May apparently.
