Scan date 12 April, with a DM, no sign of a decision yet.

I’m currently calling them.
it’s obviously been a quick decision, scan date 12th of July and letter to say not entitled was dated 27th July.
mum really upset as I’ve seen people get claims for the exact things my daughter needs extra care for. Feels a bit hopeless doing a MR but going to anyway.

@Mumof2gurls I wasn't aware I could claim it until a coach worker on uc told me I could.I got a nice back pay off 1900 but the uc take carer allowence of ur uc but add carers element and I think that's around 160 a month also get higher child emelmet off 414 a month.

Did your uc back pay this for you hun xx

I’ve applied for carers and sent everything off, just a waiting game now xx

I called for an update on our MR today and we have been awarded high rate care until 2024 😱😭 cried so much after the phone call! Made myself believe they would decline again but they didn't!

Anyone feeling drained and stressed after a decline still go for the MR!!! Will be worth it in the end!

Not child element as I wasn't on uc when my sons dla was awarded July last year i was self employed but had to give up my job to care for him so in the November that's when I went on uc

So i received the text message to say that my son is entitled to dla. I phoned up to find out he had been awarded lcr and no mobility. I will be doing a MR and have requested a statement of reasons. Is there anyone that can give me some advice to being heard? Also will his present claim be stopped while i am asking for a MR?

Hello everyone, waiting for my sons renewal that runs out the end of this month, I sent it back and got confirmation they received it on May 12th. I was wondering if anyone's going through a renewal an when did yoj actually hear back? or anyone around them dates waiting to hear for a renewal? X

We're similar to you, claim received 11 may and our current claim runs out towards the end of the month.
I phoned them last week and it wasn't even with a decision maker yet, I was told that renewals are dealt with literally days before they run out.

Slightly worried as I've had a letter from Carers Allowance saying that payments will stop so I'm hoping I don't need to reapply for that, also we go on hols this week and really thought the renewal would have been sorted by now.

Any updates on were dla think they are at on new claims

@MrsFortSQ ah it's a nightmare waiting isn't it, I really thought they would have been getting looked at by now I can't believe they wait till a couple of days before that's ridiculous. So we'll not even know till after they run out cause the letters take awhile to come. Fingers crossed they get sorted before but I highly doubt it now. Oh have you? I haven't received a letter from carers yet but I'll be expecting one thanks for letting me know 😊

I caved and rang said looking at may 17th atm and will be couple more weeks as there taking 11.5 to 12.5 weeks currently

so I’ve been following this thread for a little while now.
currently have a new claim pending for son who’s 6 with suspected ADHD, SEMH,ODD
scan date was 24th may.
rang a few times just to be told to ring back in few weeks. Rang back this morning and I also was told working on 17th may and taking 11.5 to 12 weeks.

Decision maker just called me to talk about night time needs and specifically whether it’s every night or some nights. Also asked whether we had a confirmed diagnosis of ASD as this would affect the length of award she is looking to make.

My anxiety is through the roof. Our scan date is 7th June so wasn’t expecting them to look at our claim for another 3-4 weeks. Knowing a decision is being made today is making me panic.

Do you think she is weighing up middle rate and high rate care? Has anyone been called, told that they are looking to award and then been declined?

@Leanne0790 I’ve had dla in the past for my daughter and the Decision maker called me and I think was defo to decide wether the rate was higher or middle. And they will be asking about wether ur child has a diagnosis because they know the waiting times are massive so will probz award for about 2 year I’d imagine.

@Leanne0790 decision maker called me as well asking questions. My son hasn't been diagnosed yet and is awaiting ASD,PDA and ADHD assessment he was awarded HRC and HRM but the decision maker did say because there is no formal diagnosis that is why he was only awarded 2 years

How long after they called did you receive the decision? I’m debating calling up before the end of the day to see if it’s showing on their system. Driving myself insane.

@Leanne0790 mine was made same day but because it was Saturday didn't find out till Monday might be worth calling before they close this evening

Hi I have been following this thread the past few weeks. My scan date is 10th May but I have still not heard anything. At the beginning of July I had a sorry we still haven't made a decision letter, and 2 days prior to that I rang and the lady said I was looking at getting a decision around the middle of July as they were currently working on a 10 week wait at that point but still I have not heard anything, but I have read on this thread people from 9th of May being rewarded (1 to 2 weeks ago) and people in June being awarded. As anyone with a scan date of 10th of May had a decision yet or anyone still waiting? Any help would be great thank you
