Carrying on the waiting right here!

Scan date 12 April, with a DM, no sign of a decision yet.

Hello
Can I ask, those who have been awarded child DLA did you all get a text telling you?

I put my mobile number on the form and it's 12 weeks since my form was scanned on 11 May. Still waiting and too scared to phone 😂

MrsFortSQ · 02/08/2022 10:15

Also did the text say if you got HRC /LRM etc.

Cheers xx

Mumof2gurls · 02/08/2022 11:32

hey I didn’t get a text, I was the 6th and was awarded last Tuesday so may be worth a phone call! Good luck x

Skittles1410 · 02/08/2022 11:47

Hey new here, been reading through this thread. Sent off for forms in April (first claim) they were scanned 13th May. Rang yesterday and was told isn’t with DM yet 😩 god the wait is horrible! Seen people on the Facebook page after me in later May and June been awarded already!

Naomi153726 · 02/08/2022 13:24

I sent my sons renewal which runs out 17th august, it was scanned 13th july, the woman on the phone told me i havent sent it in time and its going to be a15 week wait, is this correct?

MrsFortSQ · 02/08/2022 14:24

@Naomi153726
When did you get the renewal form? DWP normally send it out around 6 months before the claim runs out.
I've been waiting 12 weeks for DS's renewal, his claim runs out later this month so hopefully it's decided before then.

You'll get it backdated but I'm not sure if any other benefits /CA are backdated too.

Naomi153726 · 02/08/2022 15:26

@MrsFortSQ i received them around march/april, sent them back in july as we was waiting for his paediatrician appointment which was delayed by 3 months, the appointment still never happened in time we had it last week, i called dla and gave them an update over the phone what happened at the appointment

Poppysmum14 · 02/08/2022 18:21

Not everyone gets a text I didn’t. I rang up around 12 week mark and was told on the phone my daughter was rewarded. Few days later the was money in my bank and then a couple of days later I got the reward letter. You might be lucky and get a text but even if you do it doesn’t tell you what rate x

Uz91 · 02/08/2022 19:42

Could someone offer me advice or help on MR please, my child who has JIA was awarded MRC which I am fine with but didn’t qualify for the mobility which took me by suprise, as she can not walk, so how do I go about doing a MR and do I need to send of any more proof as I had already sent of everything the first time round. TIA x

Poppysmum14 · 02/08/2022 21:02

You don’t need to send more proof no they just get someone else to take a look at it. How old is your daughter?

Uz91 · 02/08/2022 23:25

@Poppysmum14 she is 3 years old, would you recommend me writing up a letter and sending it in or to ring up?

Poppysmum14 · 03/08/2022 03:07

I think because of her age being 3 she’s been declined mobility because they try to say that most 3 years are in pushchairs at that age. It’s daft I know but that’ll probably be the reason. Definitely do a MR. I’ve seen some people do MR and then been rewarded the high rate care and mobility. Whoever looked at your form didn’t do a very good job. Goodluck x

Mummy2boys1520 · 03/08/2022 08:47

@Uz91 you'll only get mobility for a 3 year old if they get the HRM I believe because other wise it is only paid from the age of 5

SallyCinnamon30 · 03/08/2022 08:50

H everyone. I feel like I may not have sent enough evidence. All I sent off with the form was my sons autism diagnosis. I think I want to send the latest educational psychologist's report. How do I go about this ? What address should I be using and what will I need to put in the envelope along with the report to make sure it links up with his form and diagnosis ? So worried it will just get lost. Does anyone have any advise who has sent in extra evidence? Thank you

Boymummax · 03/08/2022 09:48

So I called for yet another update on my mr, scanned 23rd of June, told it had been with the dm since 22nd of July, called again on Friday 29th July to be told still with dm. Called Monday the 1st of August and they said "it isn't with the dm I will mark as urgent as should of been with them by 5 weeks (Thursday 28th) I called again Monday afternoon to confirm it was actually marked as urgent and they confirmed this and told me was picked up by a dm within an hour of it being marked urgent. I then called today to be told "its not with a dm yet its in the over time pile" I said I am unsure where you are reading from but none of your stories are adding up, she said "it was handed to a case manager on monday" I said OK so it is with someone then? And she said "no its under an old case managers name, he no longer works for us but when it goes under his name its for over time on the weekend" she then said "they don't pick it up until its been 6 weeks because they give you 6 weeks to get evidence in" I said well it's 6 weeks tomorrow since it's scanned on your system..... she then came back with "needs to be 6 weeks since decline" so I said "well then that would be close to 8 weeks then!" She had no clue what to say to that just repeated its in the overtime pile.

Has anyone else experienced something like this? It has infuriated me to how their stories never add up etc. Now in overtime pile for the weekend..... I would assume marking ad urgent should be picked up straight away.

Does anyone know how to complain about this?

Uz91 · 03/08/2022 10:18

@Mummy2boys1520 is that even if her disability affects the joints in her knees and ankles?

Mummy2boys1520 · 03/08/2022 10:25

Yeah, so they will only award HRM for a 3 year old if they think she doesn't qualify for HRM she won't get anything till she 5 but if you believe she is entitled to HRM then that's when you do the MR but it's also good to know that the can also change the decision you have already got to more or lower

Mummyofangel · 03/08/2022 10:36

Hi

This is the address I sent extra evidence to, it’s best if u call them nd tell them ur sending extra evidence nd ask for address also there’s reference number you write that on your form nd envelope, reference should be on letter you received from Dla when u sent application form x

Crazybrood · 03/08/2022 10:39

Can someone please help with something. I’ve just got off the phone and experienced my 1st rude person. My form was received on the 12th May. I got a letter on the 19th May saying they had received my claim on the 12th May and if I hadn’t heard after 8 weeks ring (the standard letter). The woman on the phone was trying to tell me I’m not on week 12, I’m on week 11 because it goes off the date they sent that letter. Is she right or talking crap? I was told last week I was going dm this week.

FightingForMyBoy · 03/08/2022 13:18

@Crazybrood I’m the 12th of May as well and when I phoned Monday for an update as it’s been 12 weeks she worked it out to be 11 weeks and 4 days and would be 12 weeks on Thursday, it’s ridiculous waiting times and especially annoying when children are being awarded for June, I’m obviously pleased that children are being awarded quickly but it’s not fair on the children that are being left to wait!
