I think I called back end of March, I sent off on 12th April, scanned 19th April.

So does this sound like middle rate?

Hi everyone, what is the current wait?
I sent off my forms on Monday 11th July.

my daughter is 7 has significant Hypermobility which means she falls over constantly and can’t walk far without being sore and tired. She is also on the pathway for ASD. She struggles severely with uncontrollable emotions, cry’s 10+ Times a day and is sensory seeking constantly. She chews holes in all of her clothes and school tops. Pulls off buttons, chews holes in knees of leggings. Chews furniture etc. She falls so much she needs a new pair of clarks every term. She gets hugely over loaded by noise and finds general life difficult. She needs a lot of care and attention and we find her very difficult. She wakes in the night 1-2 times and needs carrying to the toilet as she’s always upset and says her knees are tired. She has stretches and massages before bed every night.
My son is 6 also on the ASD pathway, he is sensory sensitive to all types of clothing, everything feels ‘too big’ and he looks ridiculous in clothes too small because we just can’t deal with the kick offs, crying and hyperventilating at things feeling loose on his skin. He doesn’t sleep well, up 3 times a night, last night he was screaming ow ow, turned out he was so petrified he said he was in pain. He has bad night terrors. He’s Currently behind in school and has group help. Poor concentration and possible dyslexia as he writes back to front with his letters formed backwards too. He requires a lot of care and can not be left alone as he has no sense of danger, runs into roads, tells me he wants to be in a car crash to see if he would die. Just doesn’t underhand. Suspected ADHD aswell. He was 10 weeks prem, ventilated and a very poorly baby.

Do we stand a chance? All the extra money on clothes and shoes is wearing us so thin. The kids won’t walk far as it’s a nightmare so we spend so much on fuel.

kinzzzz · 08/07/2022 14:27

I would say so but dont take that as gospel x

kinzzzz · 08/07/2022 14:30

I would be shocked if you got turned down tbh and do u mean june? Sounds like u got it tough exhausted mumma 🥰

kinzzzz · 08/07/2022 14:30

Current way is between 8 and 10 by this thread x

Crazybrood · 08/07/2022 14:35

@2under2and1more im 8 weeks in and rang this morning for them to tell me they’re taking around 10 weeks to get to decision maker. Some who have recently put claims in are being told to wait 11 weeks before contacting. Be prepared for a hard long wait and good luck x

2under2and1more · 08/07/2022 14:43

Sorry I meant Monday 4th July. So this Monday. I’ve put off claiming for so long because of a comment a family member made about us ‘earning way enough to cope’ as we both work full time.
that said if we were given DLA I would drop hours so that I could care for them more as I’m exhausted working 40 hours and not getting a full nights sleep, so is my partner!

2under2and1more · 08/07/2022 14:58

I’ve heard of so many people getting declined that I’m not getting my hopes up. I sent in all GP letters, Paediatrician letters, diagnosis letters and the ASD pathway assessment. I didn’t get anyone to write in the someone that knows them section as I filled it out on the weekend. I hope this doesn’t stop it.
Daughter has a school councillor and is under SENDCO, wears knees and elbow pads to school as they wouldn’t allow her in without as she was tearing holes in herself falling over.

Son is under SENDO help and group help with reading and writing but compared with my daughter hasn’t been offered much other help as he’s ‘happy in himself’ at school. He seems to release it all at home, they both do.

Polly421 · 08/07/2022 15:14

@doadeer thats sounds about 14 weeks roughly of middle rate care.

doadeer · 08/07/2022 15:23

Thanks @Polly421 !

Kc1999x · 08/07/2022 16:03

o my son has been with the gp about all his development and care needs and it’s all on the medical record, should I send that in as extra evidence just because I know sometimes they don’t ring the people you’ve put on the form, but my sons medical record backs every thing I’ve said in my DLA forms🤷🏽‍♀️

Crazybrood · 08/07/2022 23:29

@GrapePearPea I got mine 2 weeks after my forms were sent. If you sent them next day they will get there in the deadline. Mine were due on the 13th May and I only got them sent on the 11th. They arrived the 12th so just scrimped it lol

Nicole220825 · 09/07/2022 16:24

Anyone had a scan date for 4th May? Just wanted to see if anyone has had anything back for then?

KJB88 · 09/07/2022 16:28

@Nicole220825 My scan date is also May the 4th, I got a sorry you are still waiting letter a couple of weeks ago and was told when I called before not to expect to hear anything before mid to late July! It is an agonising wait isn't it!

Spacemonkey2016 · 09/07/2022 17:42

I'm 5th May.....I called yesterday to check they received the additional evidencd I sent in, and the guy on the phone told me a couple more weeks he reckons. But he also said they were still working up to 24th April, so a fortnight seems optimistic.

Kc1999x · 09/07/2022 19:11

@Spacemonkey2016 , how long did it take for them to receive and scan your additional evidence onto the system
