Hi.
Not same topic but wondering please if anyone had been on tax credits and then changed over to Universal Credit.

I applied for UC yesterday and am aware my tax credits will end as will my housing benefit however I am wondering if I will still receive next week's payment and would it be classed as an over payment when my UC claim comes through?

Worried as I work part time and don't get paid till 24th so wondering if I will still get some payments or will they stop altogether?

Thank you.

Nicky80catri · 15/08/2022 12:08

My claim started from 22nd April. Received the forms on 19th May. Finally got a decision yesterday , my sons been awarded high care component and low mobility component. It's been a nail biting time but this is gonna help my son tremendously

Tiredandweary1987 · 16/08/2022 22:20

@shellie1986 how did they inform you of their decision? My claim is also stamped date 19th May and I called last week but still not heard anything. I will be so sad for my daughter if it’s a no. I have so many things that I want to buy her that will improve her day to day life 😓

shellie1986 · 16/08/2022 23:25

I phoned them on the Monday and they told me it was going to the decision maker that week . I phoned the next Monday for an update and they told me the rates and back pay and when il be paid **

Tiredandweary1987 · 17/08/2022 06:14

Thank you, that’s helpful! Sounds like if I phone them at this point they’ll be able to tell me more
