Mrsm1987 · 13/07/2022 11:35

gobsmackedat my son getting middle rate

Kc1999x · 13/07/2022 12:13

@Ssabb90 brilliant thank you for letting us know!
@Mrsm1987 i feel like this about my son however I’m waiting to see paed as they’ll be the one dealing with my sons sleep habits, he doesn’t sleep at all and needs constant supervision during the night as well as the day. He’s a danger to himself, but the only evidence I have on this is notes on his medical record which the gp has sent to paed🤦🏽‍♀️ So from now until January I’ll be collecting all evidence I need. But for now I’m happy that we are getting MRC.
I believe that no one knows our children better than us and if you believe your child should have high rate definitely fight it, I’ll be doing the same once I have the correct evidence cause atm I don’t. Good luck and hope you have the best outcome x

Mrsm1987 · 13/07/2022 12:21

Good luck kc basically my son 8 is still in nappies through night due to bad bowels has clear out when he's asleep 3 changes and baths during night as well as his level off understanding way behind his years so needs constant simp

Mrsm1987 · 13/07/2022 12:23

Simple instructions not aware off danger I just feel middle rate is a case off has moderate care needs but with 3 hours sleep.a night he can't even dress him self I feel he should be entitled to higher

Kc1999x · 13/07/2022 13:03

Yes definitely sounds like you should be getting higher, I hate to say it but some of these decision makers are absolutely clueless, no understanding whatsoever x

Kc1999x · 13/07/2022 13:03

Seen someone from the 12th of may be awarded today also for anyone before or has this date x

Leanne12321 · 14/07/2022 05:57

Mrsm1987 · 14/07/2022 07:54

Leanne that's shocking didn't you get high rate care though I'm not sure how they work it out tbh my cousins bern who doesn't require much care at all her words gets high rate

1977s · 14/07/2022 11:36

Leanne12321 · 14/07/2022 14:52

Yes I did get HRC thats why I'm not fighting it.Aw 1977 that's amazing news!I'm so happy for you

Mrsm1987 · 14/07/2022 16:00

I know I risk loosing the middle rate care asking for mandatory reconsideration ill go.as far as appeal I just feel his care needs are so high just got to take tht risk

Tinker231 · 14/07/2022 17:06

I have had a quick scan through this post and was just wondering if anyone has heard anything from last month I sent letter back on 28th but not had any confirmation if they have received it? And how long do people generally wait for decision?

Leanne12321 · 14/07/2022 17:10

Thinker it took me 11 weeks for decision hope you dc gets the money they deserve

Tinker231 · 14/07/2022 17:12

Thankyou very much, I don’t have much hope as said can take up to a year to be diagnosed officially because of Covid backlog so only evidence I had to send was speech and language report and nursery reports which state concerns regarding to autism.

Kc1999x · 14/07/2022 18:03

Final heard back from UC, sent over to decision maker now

40anddoingitagain · 14/07/2022 18:05

@Tinker231 We had a confirmation they’d received it letter 3 weeks after we sent it in.

Tinker231 · 14/07/2022 18:22

@40anddoingitagain thankyou very much

Kc1999x · 14/07/2022 18:29

@Tinker231 honestly don’t worry. I sent no supporting evidence for my 2 year old and he just got awarded X

Tinker231 · 14/07/2022 18:34

@Kc1999x that’s great to hear Thankyou. I only applied after reading this thread between you all so thought I’d just give a go. So a massive Thankyou to all you wonderful ladies for sharing x

Kc1999x · 14/07/2022 18:45

Yes I did the same back in march, I never realised you could claim without diagnosis all about the extra care you give! because my son is 2 I never thought he’d actually be awarded but here we are. You’ll be absolutely fine, and you can always do an MR if needs be x

Leanne12321 · 14/07/2022 18:56

Tinker231theyvsay a year my son has waited 5 and still hasn't been assessed for autism. He has been assessed for other things and have had a diagnosis but that took 4 years!Uts so bad.I hope uts faster rin your area

Leanne12321 · 14/07/2022 18:58

Tinker you don't need a diagnosis tobgwt awarded as the DLA know they take such a long time I think you lil one will gwt it :)
