@Bizzlemizzle

thank you I put it in my journal this evening! Hopefully someone will get back to me tomorrow.

Sarah3587 · 19/05/2022 02:22

@AReallyUsefulEngine

one of the reasons I took her out of the school she was in was because her taxi escort left and she was left without transport. I ended up having to drive the 80 mile round trip everyday (expenses were paid) whilst they organised a new escort. It took them 3 months to find someone who was willing to do the journey but she left the job after a month,
they do send people to our home to do certain therapy’s and tutoring but of course I have to be there. There isn’t a facility that exists that I can drop her off at every day to work.
we have a lot of support from different agencies but since covid there’s always a covid related excuse for why things can’t happen straight away,
im hoping the note I left in my journal will get the ball rolling for the commitments to be amended,
thank you so much for you Advice.

@Leaf1216 hey lovely! I rang this morning and my little one is with a DM which is fabulous news, im crossing my fingers so much that it’s a good decision. Might be worth you ringing up too as your scan date is same as mine! X

Ltb17 · 19/05/2022 09:35

@Sarah3587 yeah tbh I kind of expected that. I think with this claim I mentally prepared myself to be waiting until the end of June. I guess it helps I've just waited 22 weeks for my other child's change of circumstances so 8 weeks seems like a breeze at the moment lol.

AReallyUsefulEngine · 19/05/2022 09:40

No, you don’t. You cannot be compelled to facilitate the EOTAS package. There are many parents, myself included, whose DC receive their EHCP provision at home or elsewhere but not in a school who have PAs/carers/TAs/HLTAs/mentors funded by the LA to provide the care/2nd adult.

If DD has high care needs you should look at continuing care funding too.

Leaf1216 · 19/05/2022 11:14

@Masonandme great news, hopefully not long for you! I will phone a little later and let you know.

RobynC19 · 19/05/2022 11:16

After applying on the 14th of Feb and been rejected we did and mandatory reconsideration and have gone from declined to middle rate of care for my son, such a relief I can now afford private speach and language cause the wait list is awful the money went in to my account but I am waiting for my letter to see how long we have been awarded it for.

Leaf1216 · 19/05/2022 11:39

@RobynC19 well done winning your appeal! Great news that you can finally get the support your little one needs going forward.

Can I ask how long the appeal took? Useful for the rest of us who might have to appeal.

RobynC19 · 19/05/2022 11:45

Yer I called up the day I got rejected and the lady on the phone did my mandatory reconsideration over the phone I just gave a spoke statement about why I thought my son required more help than most and she typed it up and its took 4 weeks from then. I have to admit I didn't have much hope as I was saying it to the lady on the phone while dealing with my son mid meltdown and trying to collect my other child up from childcare.

Leaf1216 · 19/05/2022 11:57

@RobynC19 thanks, Im preparing for a negative decision so really helpful to know.

glad it's all sorted for you!

Leaf1216 · 19/05/2022 12:15

@Masonandme I phoned, mine is also with a decision maker! I don't know if I'm excited or nervous.

For reference for everyone else, the application was scanned march 11th and with dm now. Lovely lady on the phone said it's roughly a 9 week wait, we are 10 weeks tomorrow. She said to allow a couple of days because of the two bank holidays.

Masonandme · 19/05/2022 12:20

@Leaf1216 I am sooo nervous too but excited! I feel like I have waited so long for this decision and it would really help so much for my little one.
good luck ❤️

Naomis121 · 19/05/2022 12:48

regarding change of circumstances, has anyones application been out through as urgent?
mines been marked as urgent today
im just wondering usually how long that takes for a decision after they put through as urgent

Nicky80catri · 19/05/2022 15:59

For anyone waiting for march 18th rang today and was told it will be end of next week for a decision x

Mummy2boys1520 · 19/05/2022 16:49

Just got of the phone as my change of circumstances was from 14th December and still haven't heard. They told me it is with the decision maker and I should here by no longer then this weekend. She has marked it as urgent and left note for decision maker and if I don't here by Monday call back up. I'm starting to panic now

Ltb17 · 19/05/2022 16:51

@Mummy2boys1520 I cannot believe yours hasn't been done yet?! Let's hope them flagging it actually makes a difference!!

Mummy2boys1520 · 19/05/2022 16:54

@Ltb17 that what I said to them, I said they are working on January now which is a whole month after I sent mine. The Decision maker has had it over a week now and I haven't heard anything

Scanner20 · 19/05/2022 17:22

Thanks @Nicky80catri mine is 21st March so looking more likely for early June for a decision maybe, end of May if lucky!

Nicky80catri · 19/05/2022 17:24

@Scanner20 I will let you know when I have a decision Hun x

@Naomis121 they didn't say but she seems to think it will be done by this weekend I'm hoping so as I don't fancy being on the phone for an hour Monday to be told the same thing
