@Needanewadventure2021 yes I hear of people being declined and hear thier needs and it just doesn't make sense at all. I had a look last night and couldn't find the comments sorry, if you search "dla" or "dla mr' there are a few chats active now where you might find some tips from people going through the same. Good luck, I'm sure you'll get it sorted soon!

@Ltb17 Congratulations! Mine was stamped Jan 12th so I’m on 17th week of COC, my case is very similar to yours, hoping for my Son to be awarded HRM as been on LRM for over a year now and sent more evidence of his difficulties with his COC, also read the contact.org website which gave loads of tips. I’m so happy for you and your family! I’ve become to know that we are our children’s voices and we will be heard, we just have to a speak loud enough and never give up until we get what our children deserve.

Mine is 17th January! I’m hoping to get a decision soon. Although other then calling up I’m not sure how we find out

Naomis121 · 11/05/2022 12:16

Called today for COC they are working on claims from the 9th January

Needanewadventure2021 · 11/05/2022 12:49

@Leaf1216 perfect. I'll do that later when I get home. I'm more angry today as I still can't get my head around it and I'm so annoyed they are telling me he doesn't need any help or assistance when I know I'm his claim I gave specific examples of all the help he needs

Mum2Two91 · 11/05/2022 13:01

Called today for update on my COC stamped 12th Jan. The advisor told me my Son’s claim has been allocated a case worker and they are working on claims stamped 5th Jan. Told me to call back up if I haven’t heard anything in the next 2 weeks. I’m guessing it depends on what case worker you have and where there at with their case load, maybe that’s why everyone gets different updates?

Mine is stamped 17th

it must definitely depend as I was told anytime from 9th to the 23rd of this month. As that’s the 18 week mark

I am so confused right now, yesterday call handler confirmed my award had been done and my son had been awarded hrm, I called back today to check dates etc as when they told me yesterday I wasn't paying full attention I was in shock. Anyway today call handler tells me it's not been done!!!! Explained what was told to me yesterday and he said they would have someone call me back. The dm just called me back and said it's with him now and he's unsure why I was told that yesterday as decision has NOT been made yet!!!!! He's having this looked into because it never should have happened! I'm confused frustrated and angry right now!! Back to waiting for an actual decision and an answer to why this happened!!

Omg that’s ridiculous!

I called and they are working on claims from 9th January for COC? So yours should definitely have been done surely? X

@Ltb17 omg that is so shocking who would say you have been awarded and then not how do they make that mistake. I've called again today as mine still hasn't even been given to a dm yet and I was 14th December and they said they are going to flag it and hopefully I will here by beginning of next week. But if I don't hear anything by Monday to call back

Ltb17 · 11/05/2022 14:19

I just don't understand how it's happened, the dm I spoke to was so angry, not at me he was really nice and apologetic to me. He said he will try and get mine done as soon as possible and he will personally ring to let me know once it's done. I just feel like it was waved in my sons face and then snatched away. I know I didn't expect hrm in the first place only really expected lrm because I see so many people struggle to get hrm but when they told me that yesterday I felt so relieved because it would make a massive difference to my sons life. But hey ho, here we go again. Just feel deflated

Also not sure what’s going on, I got a text to state my child is eligible I rang as it’s a chnage of circumstances not a new claim.

when I rang this morning I was told it wasn’t even looked at yet. So nothing makes sense

Ltb17 · 11/05/2022 15:49

@Naomis121 that's exactly what happened to me originally I received a text to say he qualified, called to check as have the coc and a new claim in, had to wait for a call back which then caused all this. Somethings obviously up with their system I'm guessing but I have seen people on the Facebook advice page say they received texts in the last couple of days about coc and theirs had been completed.

I won’t even bother to ring, as I was told this morning it hadn’t even been looked at. My COC is 17th they are upto the 9th January apparently so I’m hoping not long

Bizzlemizzle · 11/05/2022 16:02

@Ltb17 That's bloody awful! Sorry you are having to go through the extra stress of it all. I know how much HRM would change my sons life so if this happened to us (and then wasn't awarded it) I would be absolutely devastated. I'm glad they are taking it seriously but should not have happened in the first place.

I sent some more evidence off this week, I was a noggin and didn't make copies of the forms when I filled them out so forgot what I actually wrote and paranoid I haven't included everything that needs to be there so I'll be ringing at the end of the month to check the extra (probably doubled haha) evidence has been scanned in. I still have roughly 7 weeks wait with it being a renewal and going from this thread and what the lady told me when I last rang because that isn't due until mid July I have a long wait until around end of June but I'll ask when I ring in a few weeks and ask when I SHOULD hear about the new award.

I have found it more difficult this time round to fill out forms and remember everything, some things have become so 'normal' for us they just go out of my brain as things to mention, so hard to put across how much care and help he needs too.

@Needanewadventure2021 I completely agree with you, it astounds me you can send in as much as you did and a stranger decides it's not enough. And mobility doesn't just have to be because of no pain or loss of limbs either. I would defo mr because it sounds like you've completely lost out.

@Twinmummyanda6yearold he was awarded under vuw not smi. They did say they couldn't award under smi because of lack of evidence of restraint and also because he doesn't have his diagnosis yet (didn't think they needed one)

Hi I have applied for my son dla he's been assessment for autism and I send the form on the 7th off April sighed for and next day there scanned it on the 27th April it's been two weeks now but I had no text

Twinmummyanda6yearold · 12/05/2022 06:45

@ronanmummy19 I never received a text either so don't worry, I posted 11th and it was signed for on the 12th.. I rang a few days later to check it was on the system and they'd put it on on the 12th.. I received a letter acknowledgment on the 23rd, but it was sent out on the 18th.. maybe give them a call if you're worried?

Kerrik94 · 12/05/2022 08:21

Have anyone called to see if they been awarded dla from the 4th to the 7th of march

Wilzo235 · 12/05/2022 09:45

Hi just an update scanned 1st of march and dla was awarded yesterday!

Nicky80catri · 12/05/2022 10:00

Just had a sorry your decision is taking so long letter. Was scanned 18th march x

Bluemum87 · 12/05/2022 10:01

U must be so happy @Wilzo235 wait over now I did call them yesterday but still waiting they said should be seen this week as mine was scanned on 4th march

Leaf1216 · 12/05/2022 10:03

@Wilzo235 congratulations! Great news for you.

March 11th here, so eager to know our outcome now.

kimmy2022 · 12/05/2022 10:37

@Kerrik94 Mine is the 3rd of March. I have phoned twice this week and both times told it is with a decision maker and should hear by the beginning of next week.

Kerrik94 · 12/05/2022 10:47

@kimmy2022 well than I will call them on Monday to see what happening as this is the 10th or 11weeks they had my son dla and don’t know about back payment either 🫣

kimmy2022 · 12/05/2022 11:26

@Kerrik94 I'm week 10 today. If you have been awarded DLA then you will get it backdated to when you first made the initial phone call for the forms.

Leaf1216 · 12/05/2022 12:23

@kimmy2022 I thought it was backdated to the date the forms were returned and scanned onto the system?
