@livpotter i have been including the LA the nice one and our sendo and sendiass in all of my emails to school. Everyone knows everything that is going on and sometimes when the head replies back she purposely replies back just to us not everyone. We are still waiting to hear if they will do the ehcp assesment it was 6 weeks yesterday so dh phoned and they said i letter was sent we haven't recieved it as of yet.
@littleswede Unfortunately even on the parttime time table ds is still very stessed today it took 20 minutes and 5 people to talk him in he just kept running to find a corner to go cry in.
Oh no sounds like dd is really struggling. I really hope you manage to get hold of la and they do something for your dd.

Awww @openupmyeagereyes thats really really lovely well done and how amazing of your ds 🙂♥️

LittleSwede · 05/12/2019 18:05

How lovely open! StarStar to your DS

dimples76 · 05/12/2019 22:08

Open that's so lovely! I'm thrilled for you

Sorry to hear of troubles elsewhere. A fairly quiet week with DS - I think next week with the Christmas play performances and Christmas jumper day it might all be too much.

openupmyeagereyes · 06/12/2019 07:01

Thanks everyone. He went back and did the second performance. Both times he left the hall after his bit, obviously that was as much as he could cope with - he had to dance to a song for about 1 3/4 minutes (he didn’t sing). So we will have him on the official DVD too. I’m super proud of him Xmas Smile

I hope everyone else’s plays go well too. I know it can be a stressful time.

Harley fingers crossed you get the EHCP assessment. Great that the school are finally using the communication book and taking him to the toilet. Is he having fewer accidents as a result?

Harleyisme · 06/12/2019 09:37

@openupmyeagereyes when they actually do it yes. Yesterday again no toileting at all and came home soiled communication book not filled in. So i have eamiled head and everyone cc'd in to ask them to please keep on top of his toileting.

@Burpeesshmurpees Sorry to hear your son is in a difficult situation. My thought would be to tell your son that this other child is still learning about how to play well with other children. If the child hurts him, say "I don't like it when you hurt me" and go to the teacher straight away.

Do you know the other child's parents? Any idea how engaged they are with the school? They may be doing all they can and just holding on for the 1:1 funding. If you have good communication with them, gently ask if you can chat and get their advice on what strategies or words your child can use to deflect any hurting , or what the possible triggers may be for the other child. Try to listen and be supportive, he parents may be under strain and may worry about their child being isolated or ostracised.

Hope things become smoother soon.

openupmyeagereyes · 07/12/2019 05:40

Burpees I second what Map has written above. You have raised it with the class teacher, who is aware of the situation and taking steps to prevent it reoccurring. You should only contact the headteacher (her boss) if you think the teacher is not listening or is being ineffective.

I hope that the steps they have taken resolve the situation until the LA decision is received.

You seem reasonable of the situation @Burpeesshmurpees Thanks

Harleyisme · 07/12/2019 14:07

Ehcp reject due to school saying that hes ha happy little boy with hardly any issues only issues is is lack of attendance.

openupmyeagereyes · 07/12/2019 14:41

Oh no Harley, I’m sorry. Will you appeal? It’s a good job you started keeping a log of all the issues, you can use them if you appeal Flowers

Harleyisme · 07/12/2019 14:45

I am appealing. I am changing schools if i can. I am also lodging complaints with governors, head, LA, Ofstead and my local Mp.

openupmyeagereyes · 07/12/2019 14:50

Good. They have been dreadful. I’m really sorry it’s come to this though Flowers

Ds is sick today. Similar to a few weeks ago, he woke up and developed a fever. He’s been sick once and is on his second nap which is most unlike him. Poor thing.

danni0509 · 07/12/2019 15:04

Harley it's unbelievable, really is!

Harleyisme · 07/12/2019 15:29

Thing is they have rejected due to the school as everything i put in the request was backed up woth the fact of his diagnosis and his SALT report but school say he doesn't need any of the support that is in all of his medical professionals reports. Even if i move schools i will still continue with the complaints to try and ensure it never happens to anyother sen child at that school.

openupmyeagereyes · 07/12/2019 15:43

school say he doesn't need any of the support that is in all of his medical professionals reports and yet he is not in school full time because he is so stressed Hmm

Harleyisme · 07/12/2019 15:53

@open they say hes not in school because of me they are denying his stress and anxiety.

openupmyeagereyes · 07/12/2019 16:11

They are ignoring the opinion of professionals because they think they know better.

LittleSwede · 07/12/2019 16:51

They are bullies Harley unfortunately there are quite a few narcissistic bullies of Head Teachers about (I've worked for two!) Who will try to put it on you. Definitely the right thing to take him out, you have tried everything. If you have the camhs referral the school won't be able to prosecute you for being absent (I think that is right?) Sorry you have to go through this Flowers

LittleSwede · 07/12/2019 16:56

Hope your DS is alright open does he vomit because of the raise in temperature? DD used to projectile vomit whenever she was as having a raise in temperature. So many awful bugs going around.

Conjunctivitis is doing the rounds at DD's school, lots of kids off (not DD, yet). Norovirus too. And some coldy ones with temperatures.

Harleyisme · 07/12/2019 16:59

We didn't get the cahms referral as they say he needs EP not Cahms but school see he needs nothing.

openupmyeagereyes · 07/12/2019 19:47

I don’t think so Little, he doesn’t usually anyway. I think it’s just a bug, several of his classmates have had it a few times too. It doesn’t usually last long but because of the sickness usually means a few days off school. Poor thing has a fever but is feeling cold, he’s just been sick again but as he’s eaten nothing today it’s just bile.

MapLand · 07/12/2019 23:10

Hope your DS is better soon open. Two naps does sound novel!!

Harley words fail me. I'm glad you're moving schools. And putting in the complaint.

DS had a completely left-field meltdown this afternoon about going trampolining. He was shouting and kicking about not wearing the paper bracelet they give you as proof of admission. It was such a strong reaction I was caught off guard. Ended up taking DD alone and asking staff if DS could forego the bracelet if we take him tomorrow- staff said he could wear it on his ankle over his sock. Hoping DS goes for it as would love him to get the benefit of trampolining Confused
