I won a tribunal against a nil.
Ds is 7 in year two. When he started school I asked about a statement. Lovely senco told me "you will never get a statement or diagnosis for ds. He has to be at least two years behind before we can act"
Well I had been battling since he was 18 months old.
I appealed for a satatory assessment in year one (after being told ds was where the school expected a child entering reception year to be)
That was refused. We appealed. We was told " you'd better have a good solicitor" by the la - just before they conceded.
Ds was assessed but given a nil in the beginning of 2014. He has dyspraxia. That was totally ignored. He has sensory issues - ignored.
Appealed the nil and won.
It's been about 1.5 years to appeal, a lifetime of being ignored. Systematically ignored.
It wasn't easy but from the first step of thinking " I can't sit back and watch my kid fail for two years" I have had zero choice
This is victory thanks to mnsn. I would have believed that senco otherwise.
Of course it's bitter sweet I should never had to do this, no one should. Plus ds really is as bad as I though. Never nice always being right on that front.
Off to buy a dartboard and gear up to fight a crappy statement as they will out if spite. I can't believe spite hasn't played a big part of this "how dare you question us you silly little mummy"
Who looks stupid now?
