Could you post if:

A) You have booked and received a confirmation by email.

B) You have sent the form and cheque but have not had confirmation of your booking.

Or

C) Intend to book but have not yet sent the form/cheque.

Moondog has received 12 bookings so far, but I have had 26 forms requested.

If Moondog receives less than 15 bookings the event can't go ahead, so she may have to open it up to people from other places, but ideally we'd like to keep it to MNSN only.

I'm trying to get an idea of who else wants to come Smile

Got mine from Sainsburys. Should prob be able to provide something approx.

I can confirm Swindon is monsoon city! Just dashed through the deluge in me Birkenstocks in search of lager!

Had to be done.

frizzcat · 13/06/2014 22:37

But I did buy tortillas and chocolate

So I should leave my Birkenstocks at home then?

lougle · 13/06/2014 23:00

Well it's thunder and lightening right now.

StarlightMcKenzie · 14/06/2014 14:53

a fabbily fab day! huge thanks to moondog and lovely colleague and to lougle for all the admin work, learned so much, got to meet so many old and new faces. utterly knackered but a happy bunny!

lougle · 14/06/2014 21:12

Thank you all for coming!

Sign, you were so generous with putting me up, cooking for the hordes, sorting the venue (Thanks to your DH for tech support) and your general loveliness!

Moondog and Lovely Colleague, I've had to work very, very hard to keep my responses short to my exhausted DH, "Mmm, lovely time, thanks", so I don't overwhelm him. Of course what I really want to do is "blah, blah, blah....ABA. Amazing results...DI....Oh what? Well it's.... Anyway, loads to do..." leaving DH even more exhausted.

DH said he really enjoyed the day. He is also relieved to discover the people in my computer are actually real and lovely.

He also said that it was like a lesson in how to use the contents of our large dining room cupboard which has had him perplexed now for a couple of years. He's is however concerned that those damn chickens have spread everywhere..........

lougle · 14/06/2014 21:46

It was so very lovely to meet people. Star, I was telling your DH that I have a very cool tape measure -when I find it, I'll ask you for your address and post it to you for your DS.

It was a great day for us too. Lovely Colleague and myself not used to training folk who are as uber receptive as you lot. So nice to be in the church and to feel part of a really nice scene. People chatting and cooking and helping each other about and being so kind and friendly. This surely is the model if the future-rediscovering community support as opposed to statutory support.

Sign and dh and your lovely ds- thank you do much. Sign, your gift is already precious to me. I will treasure it always.
Lougle- you should be running the world! Admin and logistics whizzkid that you are.

We wish we had had more of a chance to talk to you all and I know some folk felt they did not get an individual chat they wanted. I will email you people and try to help.

Lovely colleague and I now sitting on Crewe station concourse. Oh the glamour!!

Star, you were missed.
Haha, yes, your dh did observe the detritus surrounding us and murmur ' a lot of this stuff is very familiar.'
He is lovely, and great to have a healthy number if menfolk about.

frizzcat · 14/06/2014 22:23

Really fantastic, realised how much we were actually setting ds up to fail, and actually some relatively small changes could, and I believe will make all the difference to ds' independence in the long run.

Thanks so much to Lougle for organising Thanks
signandsmile for such a nice venue and lovely food Thanks
moondog & Gandhi-lovely colleague for all the info, advice and not talking to us like idiots Thanks

Annnnd pinkshark thanks so much for the lift Thanks. It went really fast Smile

Right, I'm off before I start whimpering like Gywneth Paltrow and then thanking the Academy Grin

Just back from the pub with my bestie to whom I've been gushing re ABA and Precision Teaching To Moondog, LovelyColleague, Lougle and Sign thank you for an amazing day. You filled a void with method and inspiration! Quite something Smile

Hope the journey back to Wales was smoother. Thanks again Thanks

lougle · 15/06/2014 07:01

Zzzzz, how was your day yesterday? I thought of you often. I hope it was a lovely day to share with your DD.

Thanks to lougle and sign for organising (and the delicious chilli) and to moondog and lovely colleague for a very informative day, dd has woken to me with the super duper data tracker downloaded to the iPad ready to go Grin!

lougle · 15/06/2014 11:16

I am sat in the lounge, dog on my lap, while all 3 girls are using their own Headsprout.

I did start Headsprout with DD2 a couple of years ago, but then it was $33 per month for 6 months ($198 total) and each extra child was $100. Now, it's $99.95 for a 'class' license, which can register up to 36 pupils. So just £60 for all 3 girls. Smile

They MUST do the 'speak out loud' exercises!!
I cannot stress this strongly enough.
There is a reason wqhy. Phonological awareness does not develop unless you speak out loud and without good phonological awareness, prognosis is poor for literacy.
So.. SPEAK OUT LOUD!

Just sorting my notes. Will send you Lougle, my slides (as will Lovely Colleague) and an article I have written and had published recently on using TAGteach. Also Language for Thinking cribsheets.
Thank you for agreeing to be the distribution point for MNers. :)

Will also contact a couple of folk to chase some points up as promised.

Re Headsprout, many of you with children with greater needs will need to do this with the additional paper based exercises. It is not complicated, but necessitates a couple of hours training as well as committing to probably a day of admin in terms of printing out online stories and SAFMEDS and sorting out tracker sheets.

It would be easy to sort out a session on this if enough people are interested and/or I know plenty of super competent classroom assistants who would be able to show you how to do this.

StarlightMcKenzie · 15/06/2014 12:01

Lougle, perhaps you could ask the co. if you can organise a home-school class?

I did it without the additional paper stuff as didn't have access, but did have to give 1:1 monitoring and additional reinforcement throughout the programme, repeat and go back many times and give additional teaching on the bits Ds was struggling with.

lougle · 15/06/2014 12:04

Yes, they were all doing the programme with head phones on and speaking out loud.

With DD1 at the moment, it's covering the sound she knows, I think. If she slows progress once it starts new territory, I'll contact you to sort out training. Thank you.

DD2 and I had to have a conversation about the fact that she doesn't have to speak in an American accent!! It's interesting, because DD1 & DD3 both used their normal voices instinctively, whereas DD2 is trying to replicate the accent.

She took great joy in saying 'daaaaag' (dog) then giving me a meaningful look.

Do you mean for the home Ed group I meet with, Star?
