Where I live, the decree absolute is "official" 30 calendar days from the day it is signed by the magistrate... mine was signed on January 15th, making my divorce entirely official on St. Valentine's Day - the day of love.

It was my final act of "good riddance", and I didn't even plan it that way

Got my copy through the post today and it was made absolute last Friday. I've been divorced all weekend and didn't know. I thought I might shed a few tears, but, you know what, I may do in the next few days/weeks, but today it's fine. I would prefer him to be out of my life, but with 3 boys who still love their dad, I'm never going to be completely shot of him. Grrr!
