Welcome Lookslikerain
I was really worried that Robin would say that he couldn't help us or that things wouldn't work for us while they did for everyone else. I think the main thing is that you can rely on him to be quite straight about things.
Notinthemood - my dc are too young to be assessed, but know from my own experiences at school how hit and miss dyslexia testing is
Daft - that is fantastic news, you must be so pleased! Hope you had a very thorough celebration! In fact, I hope you are still celebrating!
Badvoc - how are you feeling? Have you got snow?
Prince - well done on the potty training - that is such an achievement. Nursery aren't great at picking up these things. Mine told me not to worry for ages and then said they have been 'having concerns for a while'
Even now, they are still quite vague. It's really difficult with your first as you don't know what to expect. I think its great that you are doing things - TH and following up for a referral. Our 4yo is very good with the new diet, but our dd aged 2.5 isn't keen - she's good at turning her nose up. I just hope that eventually she will get it.
We went to see our new school yesterday and its all change! DS is going to start at their nursery after half term, so won't go back to his other one! All a bit of a rush, but they gave us the opportunity to start after half term and we've taken it. Given that we are moving, getting him settled now into the nursery should make the move to Reception easier in September. We talked about the transition and DS dislike of new things but didn't say that we'd been to see Robin and were quite vague... Wish we had been more honest as new Head called old Head for a chat. She then called me again and wants to see DS's reports ....
We are going for two introduction sessions next week and DS is already anxious about it - he woke up crying twice last night and peed in his room this afternoon. He hasn't peed in his room since we started TH in Nov and hasn't had any bad dreams for 9 weeks.... I know that we have to push through it, but it makes me feel anxious too!
