To soak ds1 in disinfectant?

hiddenhome · 17/09/2012 20:37

ds1 has pooed in the bath Sad He's taken a whole load of plastic figures in there, played with them and there's faecal bits floating around in there now.

I've drained the bath, swilled him down with warm water and am now refilling it with disinfectant in.

I'm disgusted Angry

StealthPolarBear · 17/09/2012 20:39

RuleBritannia · 17/09/2012 20:39

hiddenhome · 17/09/2012 20:40

I'd wash him in the bath with the toys, using dettol (or similar!). Yuck. Somehow we managed to avoid this over the years, but I feel for you.

LadySybildeChocolate · 17/09/2012 20:42

He's 14 Shock Is this usual behaviour?

TheCalmingManatee · 17/09/2012 20:43

disinfectant? nooooo - you need to use pure bleach!

seriously though, tis only a bit of poo - drain the bath, clean it out, shower DS down or re bath and give the toys a good wash in dishwasher or just use washing up liquid or a bit of disinfectant for the TOYS

hiddenhome · 17/09/2012 20:44

The toys have been chucked.

He's done it all his life LadySybilde Sad I thought he'd grown out of it though.

Gosh, hes 14? is he ok? might he have a bit of a tummy bug do you think?

Socknickingpixie · 17/09/2012 20:44

jesus wept how about a bit of sympathy for the lad,its not a normal thing for a 14yo to do, is he ill or something? i bet hes mortifyed

TheCalmingManatee · 17/09/2012 20:45

Does he have special needs? sorry, but its not normal for lads of 14 to be pooing in the bath. Are you getting support?

YouBrokeMySmoulder · 17/09/2012 20:45

It has happened a few times here. We just chuck all the toys and clean the bath. No biggie. No need to be disgusted either, in fact at 14 he can clean it himself so that's even better.

TheCalmingManatee · 17/09/2012 20:46

socknickingpixie - i think the OP sounds at the end of her tether over this, lets not give her a hard time

pigletmania · 17/09/2012 20:47

Has he got sn, sounds like he has

hiddenhome · 17/09/2012 20:47

He's now going mad because he read the disinfectant bottle and it has do not allow contact with skin written on the label Hmm I told him I had considered using bleach!

OP posts:
CSIJanner · 17/09/2012 20:47

Warm baths help with movements. Be thankful there weren't bubbles. Makes it worse to scrub down

hiddenhome · 17/09/2012 20:49

He's cleaning the bath out now Sad

OP posts:
squeakytoy · 17/09/2012 20:49

warm soapy water is all that is needed to clean it off.. you really dont need to use disinfectant on his skin

YouBrokeMySmoulder · 17/09/2012 20:50

I would just use baby wipes. That's what they're made for after all.

LadySybildeChocolate · 17/09/2012 20:51

Has he been assessed as having SN? Sad

Socknickingpixie · 17/09/2012 20:52

i was actually aiming that at the people surgesting he go in the dishwasher or microwave and bleach.
it was blatently obvious the op was probally at the end of her tether and probally needed a more supportive approach than those surgestions

pigletmania · 17/09/2012 20:53

My dd5 has ASD and has a habit of poo in swimmingpool

sleepybump · 17/09/2012 20:53

Dont actually wash him in disenfectant, he might get chemical burns...

toofattorun · 17/09/2012 20:54
