On the way to Ds' school she tripped in front of me and as I stepped forward to help she told me 'If you trip but don't fall, you gain a step!'

Elderly mad Spanish woman then?

sneezecakesmum · 29/05/2012 20:44

Its very perceptive! We're all stumbling through life and hopefully making some progress along the way!

coff33pot · 29/05/2012 21:43

Well I am definately walking at an angle with everything but havent face planted yet lol so she might have a point Grin

WetAugust · 29/05/2012 22:21

Last time I tripped I tore a cartlidge (sp?)

Can't see any philosophical benefit in that.

DailyMailSpy · 29/05/2012 23:03

That is lovely, a couple I like are;

Judging someone does not define who they are, it defines who you are.

Worry does not empty tomorrow of its troubles; it empties today of its strength.

WetAugust · 29/05/2012 23:18

My favourite is

Don't get mad get even

but I never did get the hang of the fluffy bunny stuff

StarlightMcKenzie · 29/05/2012 23:20

Lol!

Yes, she was quite possibly mad.

I took it to mean something along the lines of what doesn't kill you makes you stronger though, I particularly hate that one!

Almost as bad as the 'Holland story'.

StarlightMcKenzie · 29/05/2012 23:24

Ah, well the Holland story isn't even meh, it makes me want to chuck things!

I suppose I liked the idea that I've been tripped up but not fallen, and that it means a better outcome overall!

OP posts:
StarlightMcKenzie · 29/05/2012 23:26

And tbh, even seeing the holland story mentioned has pissed me right off!

Well you're in good company Star cos me, FallenCarrot and Vicar all vomit copiously when we even have a whiff of the Holland story.

Some people seem to like it Confused

StarlightMcKenzie · 29/05/2012 23:34

I've always fecking hated tulips too, and since the Dx windmills also!

WetAugust · 29/05/2012 23:41

Too right. Don't last very long before they go limp. Bit like my exH.

I think it's far too accepting to say 'Oh well - planned to go to Italy byt will have just as good a time in Holland'.

No I fucking wouldn't Angry

I like really hot sun, hotel swimming pools, Italian ice cream, great scenery and iconic works of art - not fucking clogs, cheese, canals, bicycles and limp bloody tulips.

Perhaps that's what separates the fighters from the accepters.

StarlightMcKenzie · 29/05/2012 23:44

Do the Dutch know we in th UK band about this crap?

OP posts:
DailyMailSpy · 29/05/2012 23:44

coff33pot · 29/05/2012 23:45

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO dont ask!!! oooops too late Grin

WetAugust · 29/05/2012 23:46

Holland is the sort of place that Tate Eating officers would go on holiday to.

Don't wind me up DailyMail. I refuse to being suckering into putting a link up to the festering Holland story. Google it.

StarlightMcKenzie · 29/05/2012 23:47

I don't think I can bring myself to search or link it DMS but fairly certain google woukd get it for you searching 'holland story special needs' but please don't say you weren't warned. It's highly disturbing!
