On the way to Ds' school she tripped in front of me and as I stepped forward to help she told me 'If you trip but don't fall, you gain a step!'

Now that's much more my kind of place! Wink

All more accurate than bloody Holland. If we were in Holland, the tulips would have their petals ripped off and the clogs would be whizzing past my ears as I was strapped to the windmill blades.

WetAugust · 30/05/2012 22:59

If you did that near a canal Ouryve, you could incorporate water-boarding

StarlightMaJesty · 30/05/2012 23:01

Ooh, lovely visions of caring carrots and TateEaters strapped to blades and half drowning!

coff33pot · 30/05/2012 23:10

I like this thought!! Grin

WetAugust · 30/05/2012 23:24

Yes, it makes me feel all warm and cosy too.

WetAugust · 30/05/2012 23:25

But why is it caring 'carrot'? I hadn't heard that expression til you used it upthread? Where does it come from?

StarlightMaJesty · 30/05/2012 23:27

Can't actually remember Wet. I think it might have been intervention suggested to zzzzz by a paed that she should consider giving her child carrots to eat, but I honestly don't remember.

WetAugust · 30/05/2012 23:54

That's OK. Just a new term to me.

Holland is cringe making OK the first time you hear it.........then Arghhhh the 20th!

And as for the God chose us because we are wonderful, patient, caring people....Arghhh again! Why can't the 'don't give a damn' drinking smoking mums get shafted, at least its not us.

StarlightMaJesty · 31/05/2012 14:05

I'm sure many of us are drinking smoking mums, and plenty of don't give a damn mums get shafted too, or at least their children do, which is why the do give a damn mums have such a hard time as professionals have always seen kids with greater needs!

proudmum74 · 31/05/2012 14:18

I can't stand the Holland story either!!! seriously, who thought it would help????

WetAugust - I prefer "don't get mad, destroy them!" Wink
