Have recently ventured out of the special needs board and was having a little browse walk about around the rest of the site and dipping in and out of AIBU. There is a bloody awful thread over there tonight called "Sick to death" and you guessed it they are sick of our bloody special needs children getting all the help one lovely lady even went as far to say if you have a DX "you are laughing" anyone laughing tonight guys!

I am back home now don't make me go there ever again!!!!

I know, it's so depressing isn't it? Sad

PersonalClown · 12/04/2012 18:14

Now you know why most of us hide in here or only venture onto the 'fluffier' threads.

We wouldn't wish our problems onto anyone but they begrudge the small help we get.Sad

keepingupwiththejoneses · 12/04/2012 18:14

Oh wow! that thread it horrid. Just the op of about 6 line is enough for your chin to hit the floor. I usually go over to AIBU for a laugh at how pathetic some people problems are, but I have too come back to hide.

HolyCalamityJane · 12/04/2012 18:14

It really is! Sad

UGH. Just UGH...

sazale · 12/04/2012 18:24

I've never ventured on to any of the other boards! Maybe I should go take a look!!!

FallenCaryatid · 12/04/2012 18:24

But look at all the decent people on that thread, like tethersend.
Yes, there are some ignorant and selfish posts, but there are good ones too.

Hippomaniac · 12/04/2012 18:28

Have read that thread and it's made me so angry. There just seems to be so much SN bashing going on just recently Sad . Think I'll just stick to this board in future.

HolyCalamityJane · 12/04/2012 18:28

Sazale don't do it!!!!!

SallyBear · 12/04/2012 18:41

Got about 2/3 into it. Hilarious! Not. Interestingly enough there doesn't seem to be another post from the OP (or is it further towards the end of the thread) as for the dreadful Joanna2012! Go go SN Kids boards MN! Talk about being a FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH!! Yep, all those ridiculous bitches looked sheepish after the roasting they just got from SN Kids. Angry

HolyCalamityJane · 12/04/2012 18:53

Yes the OP appears to have crawled back into her hole after some serious ass kickingGrin

It's almost funny, if it wasn't for the fact that people actually believe that shit about kids with ASD obviously have problems at home which of course is "why they are the way they are"! God for them to be able to walk a mile in our shoes. It might give them an insight into the lifetime of care and worry that we are all facing and dealing with.

WetAugust · 12/04/2012 19:12

There was fuck all wrong with the little shit that beat my son senseless at school. Angry He was totally NT - bastard.

that type of thread makes me soooo Angry Angry Angry

Especially when she claims on her profile to be some bollocksing practitioner of a particular type of vomit-inducing quackery.

SallyBear · 12/04/2012 19:18

I think that I will hibernate on here, and not venture out again. Sad

BarbarianMum · 12/04/2012 19:20

Look, it's quite simple really.....

Some people are simply ENTITLED to a PERFECT LIFE. As are their children.

I'm not sure exactly how they know this (perhaps they get born clutching little golden tickets) but when you meet one just remember that you, your children, your needs, your childrens' needs (and, quite often your/their right to exist), must be put aside in order not to cause them any inconvenience, ever.

Simple, isn't it. Hmm

The above was explained to me, at length if not exactly in those words, by a woman enraged that Easy Jet wouldn't sell her a packet of peanuts, 20 min before the end of the flight, because my ds1 had a severe allergy to them. It was a real eye opener.

SallyBear · 12/04/2012 19:29

Ooh don't Barbarian. I would be itching to shove those peanuts up that creature where the sun doesn't shine....

When my twins were babies (I finally got tdd out of SCBU at 5mos old) I would go to the mall with them in their double buggy. TDD had a feeding tube and a nasophangeal airway tube coming out of both nostrils. Not pretty admittedly. Then one day I saw a woman pushing a man in a wheelchair pass us, look at the twins and then looked at me and said "That's disgusting! It shouldn't be allowed to live" and walk off. You are so poleaxed that someone could say something like that, that you can't think quick enough! It's only afterwards, I realised that if I had said something I would have been charged with GBH. I was so upset! Btw. I am not given to violence.....Sad

Imogen. I made myself go back there the next day, and this time I met people in the eye. It was bizarrely a turning point for me, as previously I had been so immersed in her care that I hadn't faced the world at large in quite that way before. It's made me stronger to face prejudice, and I do for her constantly as people still stare. Sad

Davros · 12/04/2012 20:03

I loved that, thanks for posting about it on here. You are all very smart and funny ladies, I couldn't possibly post anything nearly good enough, or goat enough. No wonder I basically stick to SN and Telly Addicts!

FallenCaryatid · 12/04/2012 20:08

You just have to find your inner goat, Davros and then it all just flows naturally.

FallenCaryatid · 12/04/2012 20:10

In fact, the three Billy Goats gruff could be quite a good tale for us to adopt.
Troll sees vulnerable kid and sharpens fangs, then wallop!
Big Bad Billy Goat Gruff with attitude.

FallenCaryatid · 12/04/2012 20:10

In fact, on that thread there was quite a herd of us.
Stomp stomp stomp.

insanityscratching · 12/04/2012 20:18

Love the post where poster wants 1 to 1 for the average child seeing as SEN children are treated as individuals and get 1 to 1. She obviously doesn't have a bloody clue as to the fight we have to secure even minimal support for our children.I wonder if she has any idea how crippling the costs are by going to Tribunal? It's not as though it's handed to us on a plate now is it? I'd be dancing on the rooftops if I had average children tbh instead of wanting more.

Insanity, she does say that it won't harm her average child much if they don't get as much attention as a SEN child, though. I think she was trying to be reasonable.
