Have recently ventured out of the special needs board and was having a little browse walk about around the rest of the site and dipping in and out of AIBU. There is a bloody awful thread over there tonight called "Sick to death" and you guessed it they are sick of our bloody special needs children getting all the help one lovely lady even went as far to say if you have a DX "you are laughing" anyone laughing tonight guys!

I am back home now don't make me go there ever again!!!!

Smile So that's what we do next time. We might deplore that it takes poking MN towers with a sharp stick, but if it achieves the objective, then let's use the strategy next time.
Because there will be a next time. Angry

Amberleaf, been the parent of an Aspie for 17 years, been a teacher longer than that. I'm very stubborn.

HolyCalamityJane · 12/04/2012 22:11

We'll be out there patrolling the sites!

If you are in trouble! If no-one else can help maybe you can hire the SN team and their goatsGrin

MNHQ being a bit 'economical' with the truth? Or just the graveyard shift is on and the handover wasn't perfect? I did think they'd got a bit better deleting disablist threads recently, but perhaps it depends which MNHQ bod is dealing with it?

troutpout · 13/04/2012 01:42

SN and Camping. Surely there are no other boards on mumsnet ?

wraith · 13/04/2012 04:54

simple they dont know, they only see

when they have a child grandchild with special need thell come asking for advice or to have fears allayed

a lot of the attitude of arrogance of the world is fear,
watched some youtube videos of a mother dealing with her classic autistic son who was mid teens untoilettrained and could get agressive

if an nt saw that thed freak call him a monster and round up the pitchforks
but when its there child its fine

aragence fear and bigotry are what ruin our days

I was quite shocked that MN let it run and suspected the usual refusal to delete. But it was good to see how much the OP got their arse kicked and it was very funny. However, if MN had deleted it early on there would have been no need for the arse kicking. I'm glad the clever MN SNers were so funny and not all bleeding heart, "poor me" which was what was probably expected. Odd that the OP disappeared, a troll or something more sinister?!

FallenCaryatid · 13/04/2012 10:21

Joanna2012 is a fairly regular poster, and although not the OP she had very similar views.
I usually find mockery the most effective response, trolls and the like feed off other's distress and powerlessness like emotional vampires.

boredandrestless · 13/04/2012 10:54

A special needs bashing thread that actually got deleted?! Wow is that a first?!

I hate the usual stance MN take on disablist threads of leaving them up for 'educational purposes'. Hmm Angry So I'm glad someone did have the decency to delete it. I only saw the OP on it yesterday and actually physically walked away from the computer as I didn't have enough fight in me. Thanks to those on here that did go on there and fight our corner - it's a real shame it has to be done though in the first place.

suburbandream · 13/04/2012 13:54

I'm glad it was deleted - did the OP ever come back? Some people really have no clue do they.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 13/04/2012 14:28

No, she never came back. There was no defence, so what could she have posted, except more vitriol.

StarlightMcEggsie · 13/04/2012 16:09

Do you think it was deleted because is 'wasn't' educational but full of piss-takes instead?

FallenCaryatid · 13/04/2012 16:19

Perhaps.
Who knows how management see things? Certainly not how the ground troops do.

It's nice to see that the SN Kids forum are a force of nature! No wonder MNHQ deleted it. They probably like us being kept in our quiet little corner of Mumsnet Acres!Wink

SauvignonBlanche · 13/04/2012 16:52

Nobody puts us in the corner! Grin

SallyBear · 13/04/2012 17:06

FallenCaryatid · 13/04/2012 17:09

Probably GoblinGoatWarrior. I shall have to mull it over. I'm only just getting used to this one. Grin
I run the risk of forgetting who I am entirely, MN amnesia.
