Have recently ventured out of the special needs board and was having a little browse walk about around the rest of the site and dipping in and out of AIBU. There is a bloody awful thread over there tonight called "Sick to death" and you guessed it they are sick of our bloody special needs children getting all the help one lovely lady even went as far to say if you have a DX "you are laughing" anyone laughing tonight guys!

No, she hasn't got a clue about what is actually possible and practical, or how hard the fight is, but she means well.

I imagine she was but it just shows how little those on the outside know. How many of our children get all the support they need one to one? Even when you have secured a statement you scrap over provision and those with statements are the most fortunate. What of all those who need support who get nothing or are tagged on to a child with support. It's so short sighted to think that SEN children get their needs met and so now lets look at Joe average. She suggests higher taxes well I hope not because the independent assessments and the solicitor's bills are crippling us and next year I face the prospect of a fight for dd as well so even more expense.Bah humbug I'm a grouch today

I dont think it should be for us to defend ourselves or for nice people to stick up for us, I think it simply shouldnt be tolerated..just the same as racism isnt.

It's just that I wear two hats at least Amberleaf, and one of them is a teacher in MS primary having to field questions like this from parents and random prats on a regular basis.
There's always a group that feel children with sn and EAL and EBD should be buried in some sort of oubliette so that the nice, normal children can learn in peace.
And I fight them in RL and I fight them on the internet. Me and my goat.

There was a SN revolt!

Its deleted and I had only got through two pages before it went. Not impressed but very impressed to see so many people making a stand. I agree it should be classed as racism it is no different.

It would be good if MNHQ had a moderator or moderators that just plain deleted the title posts before they even could get read. There are two many vulgar and selfish people in this world. And AIBU is one of the worst for it.

The problem is though that the only reason it got deleted was everyone started to direct their anger at MNHQ. Before that happened they were more than happy to let it stay as they stated that everyone has a different threshold for taste
