Thanks to Thumbwitch for inspiring the title of this new thread. Smile

I will do my very best to minimise my worrying about the future as none of us know what it holds. For now, it's all about celebrating Beatrice's life today, every day.

As always, please feel free to follow us on our journey, and thank you in advance for the wonderful advice I am bound to receive from fellow parents, of SN children or otherwise.

Here's to a positive, uneventful thread!

Sending love and strength to you all cup.

Can they expedite her NJ (ie do it NOW!) or is that what you need a bed in Oxford for?

Praying hard here in the Cotswolds - for Bea, for her family, and for all the wise people who they have to trust with her care. May the experts be gentle with little Bea - there are an army of people who care passionately about this darling girl x

Thank you for all your prayers and best wishes. Beatrice had a comfortable night so avoided an IV. We headed off to Oxford this morning and arrived in plenty of time for her 9.30 slot in radiology... Only to be told that they couldn't see her until midday. By this time I couldn't disguise my annoyance and disgust of the incompetence we had experienced, so I had to get out. Dh rang the hospice and they invited us over for tea and a chat to allow us time to calm down and talk through our options.

Whilst we were there, we had an in depth conversation with one of the nurses about the meeting with the anaesthetist on Friday. She was so incredibly helpful, answering all of our questions and allowing us to express our fears. I feel a bit more positive about the meeting now I have had a little rehearsal of questions I would like to ask. Oh, and the hospice have invited us for lunch before the meeting, which is lovely of them. Smile

So, after tea it was back to hospital... This time, I chickened out and let dh take her in for the tube placement. I couldn't believe it when they were back out in just over 10 minutes with smiley faces, they got it in first time! Grin

Before leaving we confirmed AGAIN, that we have open access to radiology at Oxford and this time we got a doctor's name to quote next time.
