Thanks to Thumbwitch for inspiring the title of this new thread. Smile

I will do my very best to minimise my worrying about the future as none of us know what it holds. For now, it's all about celebrating Beatrice's life today, every day.

As always, please feel free to follow us on our journey, and thank you in advance for the wonderful advice I am bound to receive from fellow parents, of SN children or otherwise.

Here's to a positive, uneventful thread!

Hi Cup, I haven't posted since your first thread but have been lurking and thinking of you and your lovely family. Felt compelled to post when I read about your experience in A&E... as another poster said Bea clearly got the mummy she needed. You are incredibly strong and a beautiful example of the strength of a mother's love. thank you for sharing your journey on here, you and Bea are truly inspirational.

KateUnrulyBush · 29/04/2012 09:05

Really struggling (and failing) not to cry here too Cup.

You are all just so bloody brave.

Anyway, glad things have improved and hope you are home soon.

x Kate

Hi, I've been lurking here on and off for some time (last summer I contributed to the wooly garland) and I just wanted to let you know I'm about 25 mins from Oxford. I realise you don't know me from Adam but I can drop stuff off /deliver chocolate / whatever, if your family is unavailable. Or chat Smile

Just say the word!

JustFab · 29/04/2012 09:54

How are you all today, Cup?

BB3 · 29/04/2012 10:42

Morning cup, just popping in to see how you're doing this morning?

fhdl34 · 29/04/2012 14:55

I was in tears reading your post and then in tears again when I read it out loud to my DH. He said Bea must have a lot of strength and I think you both do. Thank goodness for that doctor and your connection with your little Bea. Hoping she is back on the up now and that you're discharged soon.

cupofteaplease · 29/04/2012 19:06

We're home! Grin

When the registrar looked in her ears he said one was swollen and red, so he thought her high temperature might be down to an ear infection. So she's come home on a treatment dose of her usual antibiotic.

I forgot to mention, but the ambulance crew cut Beatrice's clothes off at the hospice Sad I realised when I found a butchered playsuit in her bag. My mum took it home, and when I got back today, I realised she had fixed it, replacing the straps with those from one of the girls' old vests. Then she painstakingly darned the rip in the chest, and covered over the ruined embroidery with some embroidery of her own. I think that's own for the memory box. Smile

Sorry for making some people cry. Blush

Great that you are home Grin and what a lovely Mum you have Smile.

ohmeohmy · 29/04/2012 19:44

Just shows you have every strength to protect your baby whenever necessary. Hope all those medics remember that amazing effect you had forever.

JustFab · 29/04/2012 19:44

You don't have to apologise for making us cry. We cry because we care and we are all with you.

BB3 · 29/04/2012 19:53

Oh your mum is brilliant, definitely one for the memory box.

I wanted to ask before but with everything going it skipped my mind but how is your brother getting on now?

GalaxyAddict · 29/04/2012 19:54

Cup you know you can text or phone me when you are in Oxford! Please don't ever feel alone again, I can be at the hospital in 10 minutes!

I have only just read the update about Bee being taken into Oxford Children's Hospital, I am gutted I did not read it sooner, I would have visited you & brought you food & supplies.

Please, you have my mobile number, promise to get in touch if you ever need me x

BB3 · 29/04/2012 19:55

Ignore the appalling English in that last paragraph!

youarekidding · 29/04/2012 19:56

We cry because we care! We care because we are priveledged enough to be allowed on this journey with you, Beatrice and the teaset.

I'm so glad your home, sorry to hear Beatrice has an ear infection Sad.

Your mum sounds fab too btw Grin

AliceInordnung · 29/04/2012 20:08

Goodness, I had my heart in my mouth reading your account of Bea's experience in A&E. You are one AMAZING tiger mummy, cup !!

Do take the local MNers up on their offer to bring supplies and a friendly smile to you in hospital. I'm not nearby but if I was, I would be so pleased to help out and I'm sure it would be their privilege and pleasure to visit you.

Onward and upward, brave, beautiful Bea.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 29/04/2012 20:09

Glad you are home x

cupofteaplease · 29/04/2012 20:31

Thank you all. Galaxy I did consider texting you, but I was in such a down mood, I couldn't bear to inflict myself on anyone else, it wouldn't have been fair!

BB3 Thanks for asking, my brother started his chemo on Wednesday. He said it was ok, aprat from making him do a red wee! But he was sick yesterday and is on a cocktail of medication. The doctor has signed him off for 8 weeks. He remains resigned, but optimistic. It must run in the family. Wink

Cup, if you need me in future, text me. If you don't feel like seeing me, I can at least do a food drop off. I do totally understand if you don't want to see me, but just need some stuff dropping off x

BB3 · 29/04/2012 21:11

I'm glad the treatment has started and it's all progressing - keeping my fingers crossed for him xXx

oftengrumpy · 29/04/2012 21:29

Hi Cup. I have never posted on your thread before but I have been following you and Bea since your first thread. I'm glad to hear that you are home now. Best wishes xx

ExitPursuedByABear · 29/04/2012 21:42

Your Mum sounds delightful. It must run in the family.

So it was an ear infection. Bless her sweet heart.

Much love to all the teaset. I really don't know how you cope.

KateUnrulyBush · 29/04/2012 22:08

You're home :) Wonderful news x

JustFab · 30/04/2012 12:45

Cup, I have sent you a PM.

MNP · 30/04/2012 13:25

So glad that you got there, they listened and Bea is showing her fighting spirit.

fhdl34 · 30/04/2012 14:52

Please don't apologise for making some of us cry, I really do feel priviledged to read of your journey with Bea and your family and I'm grateful that you take time to update. I remember your post so long ago right before she was born, on the pregnancy board, I was pregnant at the same time although not as far along as you were. Yours and Bea's story touches so many people and it makes me grateful every day for my own daughter now she's arrived.
I'm so glad you're back home and am hoping now for an uneventful few weeks for all of you.
Good luck with Tea for Bea tomorrow, wish I could be there to eat lots of cake and meet Bea but you're too far away and I fear I'd probably drown her in postnatal tears. It's all just hormones Wink
