Thanks to Thumbwitch for inspiring the title of this new thread.

I will do my very best to minimise my worrying about the future as none of us know what it holds. For now, it's all about celebrating Beatrice's life today, every day.

As always, please feel free to follow us on our journey, and thank you in advance for the wonderful advice I am bound to receive from fellow parents, of SN children or otherwise.

You came to mind while I was at church this morning, smiled to think of you and your beautiful daughters. Pray it went well

We had a perfect day. The sun shone so all the children present went out to run and play on the cricket pitches. Beatrice had lots of cuddles and was spoilt with gifts.

In church we sang Morning Has Broken and This Little Light Of Mine. We had a hairy moment with the baptism candle as oxygen and open flames don't mix...

This evening I feel a little maudlin as it always hits home at times like this how much I miss my Dad being alive to share the good times. He'd love Beatrice, he really would.

Anyway, tomorrow we go to Oxford to meet the gastro surgery team, then go onto the hospice for a 3 night stay. But before that, I'm taking Bea to yoga and for a weigh in. Fingers and toes crossed please that she's gained some weight!!

I lit a candle for Bea at church today especially for her baptism day. I was thinking what a light Bea is to so many lives, including so many of us on MN. So I think that the hymn you sang - 'This Little Light of Mine' is just perfect. Let it shine, shine, shine Bea!

I expect the angels were smiling down on Bea yesterday, little love that she is. Sounds as though it was a happy time for everyone.

Thinking of you today. From your posts it's clear you have become so well-informed and confident, being Bea's advocate, so I hope you can negotiate your way through things in Oxford with the same success.

I hope they really listen to you and give Bea the very best treatment plan. Your little star deserves it - she's battled through doing her bit after all.
