Coffee, sorry to hear your dd is so poorly. I hope she improves soon.
Beca, what a pita. £2k is a lot of money, especially when you hadn't budgetted for it. Perhaps we should do that MNSN camping trip after all so you could at least get a short break.
Crappy week here really, mainly because I had a follow up with the neuro yesterday and half my results weren't back.
The lumbar puncture was negative, but they are still not ruling out MS. Current dx is possible/probable MS (can't remember which word exactly). They are chasing my other results and will either call me back if there are any abnormalities or put me on 6 monthly neuro review appointments if there aren't.
Discussed the whole ME dx thing and basically she told me they just can't tell, as ME and MS look almost identical in terms of symptoms and progression/relapses. They can't rule out MS because I have experienced a significant neurological event, but can't dx because there's not enough clinical evidence to support the dx. MS dx can take years sometimes and in the meantime you are left with the whole insipid, possible/probably dx. She told me all they can do is monitor my symptoms and if/when I have another serious neurological episode, at that point the dx would probably be made and I would most likely be admitted for treatment.
So, still in limbo and feeling a bit cheesed off that the tests pushed me back into relapse after working really hard for six months to get myself fit and healthy, yet they yielded no answers.
Anyhoo, I'm not going to let it get to me. Am just going to get on with my life and deal with anything that might happen, if/when it does.
In other news, I went on a school trip to the theatre to see Jungle Book with the boys this week. Sat next to ds1 and thought I might have to take him out when it first started, as it was very dark and a bit scary (the little children from another school all started crying, poor little mites
) but he was determined to try and stick it out and ended up really enjoying it.
