HolyCalamityJane · 20/01/2012 17:13

Hi Indigo and everyone

A week with mainly ups apart from Wednesday which has a big blue sad face on the Reward chart. DD had massive meltdown in her new school resulting in HT being summoned and removed from class. However that is the first serious meltdown in her 3 weeks at the school so am dwelling on the positives!

No stair walking tonight Indigo. DD at Granny's for tea probably drinking coke and eating smarties and will arrive home like a wee maniac Grin

Out for a girls night to morrow night leaving DH in charge bring on the Wine

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 20/01/2012 17:24

Hi Indigo and Calamity (great name.)

Had an appointment with DS2's Paed, first time we'd seen her for 7 years! After his faint/fit at school the doctor in A & E referred us back. I've seen the epilepsy nurse, who was lovely and DS2 had an ECG, which seemed normal to the paed but she's going to pass it on to the cardiologist. This is just to rule out a family condition of prolonged QT (I think.) Still hoping it's a one off as he's had no recurrence and apparantly 1 in 20 people have one seizure in their lives.

Boys are with dickhead tonight and tomorrow. I'm out for a quick drink at 6 until 8, so may catch up with you all later. Out tomorrow for a Chinese, trying to use my time well. Wink

Hi Indigo and Holy

I feel like I'm a terrible Mum tonight! I feel like I'm always on DCs back and there's no time for fun! The daily routine seems to be getting them out to school, doing homework when they come back, keeping a check on how much time they spend on TV computer games, trying to get healthy food into them, then bed.

DS has been behaving more autistically recently. Don't understand what's going on really.

Sorry to be negative. Sad

creatovator · 20/01/2012 17:30

Cross posted Ellen. Hope you have a good night and things turn out ok for DS2.

intothewest · 20/01/2012 17:40

Hi all.
Jumping in quickly as I am going OUT...with DH.....(I am hoping I don't fall asleep in my chair)
Melatonin gets DS to sleep, but he wakes at about 2-3 am singing and shouting.
CREATOVER..I feel the same(particularly with DD NT 15)She has exams and I'm having to nag her to revise.DS also seems more autistic lately. His behaviours are pretty full on at the moment.
ELLEN-It's good they're checking it out. My SDD had a seizure when she was 7.She's now 22 and never had another.
HOLY-sounds like there are more positives than negatives!

Becaroooo · 20/01/2012 17:41

creatovator · 20/01/2012 17:47

Hi Into Glad I'm not the only one. Hope you have a good night.

Hi Beca Really sorry to hear that. Have some Wine.

coff33pot · 20/01/2012 17:48

Evening all. Sorry to hear you feel terrible Creator. It is awfull isnt it constantly being a human checklist!

Have a good time out Ellen! enjoy yourself and relax. Glad your DS results came back normal I hope that lessens the worry for you :)

Have loads of fun tomorrow Holy! Hope DH also gives you a nice lie in to recover from a well earned hangover Grin

Mixed week this week. Thought I would speak to Juniors as DS going there in sept and looks like they dont want him there and are going to be opositional but thats another thread.

Still waiting for the apointment phone call from Maudsley but they did say it could be 10 days and so think it will be next week now. It will be good to write that date in my diary.

Unfortunately Eldest DD is poorly again and cant eat or drink for last two days as in so much pain and collapsed. Doctor is arranging hospital referral at the moment so I am currently waiting the phone call from him to get her there so things are a bit manic as poor DS is stressed about her going "away" again as it is because he wasnt nice to her this morning :( I am seriously thinking of booking my own bed at the hospital I am there so often!

Anyhow if I disapear you know why x

coff33pot · 20/01/2012 17:49

Oh noooooo 2K!!!! oh Becs :(

HolyCalamityJane · 20/01/2012 17:51

Becaroooo holidays are overrated anyway!

Into the west- Have a great night out, well deserved!!

Creatovator- If you are like me you are probably just dreading the weekend as it doesn't have the structure of the school week. I know the thought of keeping DD entertained and fending off temper tantrums is making me feel sick already but that's why wine was invented.

Ellenjane hope you enjoy your action packed weekend!

HolyCalamityJane · 20/01/2012 17:54

Coff Sad Hope your DD improves over the weekend x

wasuup3000 · 20/01/2012 17:57

Well I have a 2 annual review apointments, one tribunal date and a agreement to statutory assess a 3rd child.

coff33pot · 20/01/2012 17:59

Thanks for the sympathy re; boiler....not such a major issue in the great scheme of things but we now have no savings left which panics me.....and if anything else goes wrong we are buggered.....

Ds1 has coped pretty well tbh with all the upset/mess this week - better than ds2 actually!!!

Thanks Creatovator - I don't know is the answer, hope you feel more positive soon.

Hope everyone enjoys their nights/evenings out.

wasuup3000 · 20/01/2012 18:27

Thanks Becaroooo - time will tell!

moosemama · 20/01/2012 18:31

Coffee, sorry to hear your dd is so poorly. I hope she improves soon.

Beca, what a pita. £2k is a lot of money, especially when you hadn't budgetted for it. Perhaps we should do that MNSN camping trip after all so you could at least get a short break.

Crappy week here really, mainly because I had a follow up with the neuro yesterday and half my results weren't back. Hmm The lumbar puncture was negative, but they are still not ruling out MS. Current dx is possible/probable MS (can't remember which word exactly). They are chasing my other results and will either call me back if there are any abnormalities or put me on 6 monthly neuro review appointments if there aren't.

Discussed the whole ME dx thing and basically she told me they just can't tell, as ME and MS look almost identical in terms of symptoms and progression/relapses. They can't rule out MS because I have experienced a significant neurological event, but can't dx because there's not enough clinical evidence to support the dx. MS dx can take years sometimes and in the meantime you are left with the whole insipid, possible/probably dx. She told me all they can do is monitor my symptoms and if/when I have another serious neurological episode, at that point the dx would probably be made and I would most likely be admitted for treatment.

So, still in limbo and feeling a bit cheesed off that the tests pushed me back into relapse after working really hard for six months to get myself fit and healthy, yet they yielded no answers.

Anyhoo, I'm not going to let it get to me. Am just going to get on with my life and deal with anything that might happen, if/when it does.

In other news, I went on a school trip to the theatre to see Jungle Book with the boys this week. Sat next to ds1 and thought I might have to take him out when it first started, as it was very dark and a bit scary (the little children from another school all started crying, poor little mites Sad) but he was determined to try and stick it out and ended up really enjoying it.

coff33pot · 20/01/2012 18:31

Ok guys I am off to the hospital with DD. The surgeon is waiting for her now to get some tests done and decide what to do. Scared shitless tbh but at least they moved fast for once.

Hope everyone that comes here enjoys their nights/days/events! and those that have had a bad week I hope the sun shines for you next week xx

wasuup3000 · 20/01/2012 18:35

Good Luck Coff!!

creatovator · 20/01/2012 18:36
