If so, how are you all doing?

Life at chez sign is doing ok, huge amounts of PGCE homework Sad and the OU year is gearing up, so lots of student stuff too.

Am feeling really snowed under, but, ds has been doing well at school this week and has sucessfully been in assembly (yay!) Grin. We are off to the cafe at the church (lovely, quiet, run by volunteers) tomorrow with a little friend from school and his mum, (ds has a friend, Grin Grin) ).

sign glad things are going well. Sounds like your DS is really having a lot of positive things lately! Smile

We're still in chicken pox land here. DS2 is better and back to school. DS3 is covered in chicken pox and still breaking out! Still had to bring him to school with me for school run though, as DH is at work. Got a few raised eyebrows, but what can you do? (besides... DS2 caught them at school, so obviously there's an exposure risk anyway, right? Hmm)

We have to start looking at a few local schools in the week couple weeks - had been planning on organising that this week, but obviously we're in a bit of a quarantine. Grin

My stress has been a bit through the roof, mainly due to sleep deprivation. DH has actually made quite an effort over the last few days. Here's hoping it continues. Smile

creatovator · 06/01/2012 16:55

Vote we keep these up. I've been missing the chats.

Good to hear things are going okay Sign and hope the student stuff goes ok. Well done to DS for making a friend. Still trying to work on that here.

We've had a good hol. DCs go back to school on Monday. Part of me looking forward to it, part not.

Going out with my DH tonight without kids. First time in months Smile. Face has been quite sore at times though with sinusitus today. Hoping it won't be bad when we go.

LollipopViolet · 06/01/2012 16:56

Just getting prep work underway for my semester at uni. Making a film about a guy with CP who is training for his private pilots' licence. Had my first meeting with the people who want to take part, on Monday, and it was really good. I'm going up in a little 4 seat plane, and I'm scared of flying.

Someone PLEASE tell me what in the name of all that is good possessed me to think this was a good idea?

In theory it'll help sort my fear out, but I'm still nervous!

creatovator · 06/01/2012 16:59

xposted Triggles. Glad things are a bit better with DH. Has he started his appointments yet? Sorry to hear still in chicken pox land. Yes of course you have to take DS3 for school drop off and yes school is exposure risk. It's better they get them when children anyway. Grin

creatovator · 06/01/2012 17:00

Lolli Film sounds great and well done for being so brave.

StarlightMcKenzie · 06/01/2012 17:00

Yes please. I love catching up with people's 'other stuff'. But also, this is a useful thread to bury things that you want the people inside your computer to know but not those inside your LA iyswim.

StarlightMcKenzie · 06/01/2012 17:02

LOL at Lolli Sounds fab!

intothewest · 06/01/2012 17:12

Hi all-
Sign, sounds like hard work. Good your DS has a friend !
Creatover- have a great time
Lolli- you wouldn't catch me up there !!

oooh- Just got phone call ;my car has now passed the MOT (needed money spending)

Triggles, how is your DH doing? We are having similar troubles here.Sad

DS is possibly the least of my worries right now !!!!! Grin

intothewest · 06/01/2012 17:13

Oh and hi to starlight.........I'm not very good at this !

WilsonFrickett · 06/01/2012 17:16

Evening all.

We move house on Tuesday so the combined anxiety levels are through the roof. Went back to see the place on Tuesday and it is tons smaller than I remembered.

Lolli I bet you are totally cured after going up, you'll find out so much more about how the thing actually goes and you'll have the distraction of filming too.

sign I handed an OU assessment in yesterday, am now a week behind with course work and the next assessment is due in 5 weeks (and did I mention I'm moving?)

auntevil · 06/01/2012 17:16

Way to go Lolli - small planes are what my dad used to call 'real flying' and is far more fun than a huge faceless holiday plane. I so hope you enjoy it.
Triggles - I can't even read the word 'chicken pox' without it making me itch - but I do agree, better that DCs get it early. My DH got it late (17 and nearly fully grown) and had quite a few crater scars on his head. Little did he know he would lose the hair that covered them by age 20!
House of evil is as per normal - DH working away - me dealing with everything that gets thrown my way - chasing appointments, hanging back blinds that DS1 pulled down as he doesn't know how to manage his strength, putting the cord back on curtain rail that DS1 pulled and doesn't know how to manage his own strength, putting back loo seat, that DS1 'knocked off' as he doesn't know how to manage his own strength....I'm starting to see a theme! Grin

Becaroooo · 06/01/2012 17:20

Hi all Smile

Its been a busy week again, nephews here yesterday which was pandemonium Smile

So, jobs for me for the next few weeks;
potty train ds2
get him at pre school 2 x mornings per week
decorating
booking OU course to train as a TA!

Ds1 doing really really well on his new healthy eating plan - v proud of him! He is back to school on monday - he will be upset on sunday night Sad

Hoping to get back to "normal" after monday - what with the house move, house problems, broken toes, viruses and xmas, its been a bit mad so need to get back in routine (or what passes for it in this house!)

Am watching the 2006 The Thick of It special - v v funny Smile

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 06/01/2012 17:21

Yes, it was a bit messy around Christmas. I never know what day of the week it is, just how long til Christmas, New Year's Eve etc. Nice to have this back.

My first 2 day weekend with the boys staying with Dickhead. So soon after Christmas holidays that I haven't arranged anything. Sad I think a bit of 'spring' cleaning will be in order tomorrow, joy! But tonight, there's MN!

Sorry you're still poxy, Triggles, WOW lollipop! Have a good evening creatovator, nice to see you back with your old name, star!

I've got a review meeting at DS's school on Monday. Nothing to say really, it's all pretty good so far, it's just hard letting them get on with it. Much less communication with secondary, I'm trying to believe no news is good news! He's been set for everything now, 4th set out of 5 for all the ASD unfriendly subjects, English, RE, History, Art, 3rd set for science and still in 1st set for maths (by the skin of his teeth!) Grin I've heard of a potential friend, a boy called Ryan who is in the learning skills dept and now is in some of DS2's sets. Really hoping he@ll be a potential buddy, DS2's Harry, maybe.

AtYourCervix · 06/01/2012 17:24

evening all. i have a feeling i may be spending more time hanging around here than i have been. DD2 has big, massive problems at school. i foolishly gave up wine as a new year resolution but cracked yesterday evening as i couldn't even remember why i ever thought that was a good idea.

Both DDs also have PMT. hideous.

intothewest · 06/01/2012 17:25

Agree it's good to get back to some sort of routine.

Christmas was good.On another thread someone mentioned a didicar, which we got and DS......PLAYED with it !Grin

We had friends visiting with the latter stages of chickenpox. We've all had it,so hoping it was safe !

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 06/01/2012 17:26

Crossed with you all!
Auntevil, DS2 also broke the toilet seat by bouncing on it over Christmas. Grin
Becs, was nice to see you on primary thread! Potty training, eh?
Wilson, OMG, moving and SN. Need I say more? Good luck and (((hugs)))
Intothewest, what have you been up to?

intothewest · 06/01/2012 17:27

Hi to everyone else.
AYC...foolish NY resolution....will be opening some in a bit !

WilsonFrickett · 06/01/2012 17:28

Poor Cervix that's why I'm glad I have a DS. Can't imagine two of us in the house in that mood!

'Mon Ellen, what are you going to do with all that time! Don't waste it cleaning Grin

You could...
get drunk in the bath
Make yourself the most amazing meal that the DCs would turn their noses at and eat it all by yourself. Naked.
Dig out all your old CDs and have a dance party for one.

intothewest · 06/01/2012 17:29

Crossed again...too slow

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 06/01/2012 17:30

Your DDs in synchronised PMT, AtYourCervix? Perhaps you should join them, get it all over with in one big mood swing? Grin I saw your schoo refusal thread. The school do sound a bit shit. Sad

Glad didicar? was a success, Into.

intothewest · 06/01/2012 17:32

Yes two favourite things. Didicar....and the nutcracker !

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 06/01/2012 17:33

Wilson, you are a bad influence! Grin Hmm, takeaway curry in the bath? Dig out all old CDs and stamp on Dickheads that he hasn't asked for yet? Talking Heads and the Smiths, anyone?

WilsonFrickett · 06/01/2012 17:35

Do it!!!!!

creatovator · 06/01/2012 17:35

Posts are going up too fast for me now. Hi to everyone I've not said Hi to . I'm going to get ready to go out now. Will catch up over the weekend.

intothewest · 06/01/2012 17:37

Oh...don't stamp on the Smiths !...but curry in the bath...there's a thought !
