Hi- I'll jump in early while the computer's free !Hi to all.

Well terrible evening so far. DS is Sooo overtired he's just had a huge headbanging meltdown .....but we are finally going to try melatonin (hope it works !!!)
Paed can't prescribe it any more, but phoned me about a website and dosage etc. It seems unfair that some in county can still get it(but that's another thread) I'll come back later and let you know if it's worked

beingarebel · 09/12/2011 17:24

Hiya, I'm just sitting quietly with dd Smile doing colouring, watching a dvd. DS isn't back from after school club yet. Normally swim with dd on Fridays but we're both too tired. Hoping DS is OK when he gets in, dh is picking him up.

intothewest hope that the melatonin helps and your ds sleeps tonight.

intothewest · 09/12/2011 17:27

Thanks,I hope so.

He's happy now, watching Dr. Who Smile

santastooearlymustdache · 09/12/2011 17:38

evening all

DD is eating pizza and watching 'The Snowman' for the 2nd time tonight, and we only got in at 4.45pm Confused

we're lucky in the respect that once she is actually put in bed, she stays there until morning.

well, when i say morning, after 5am

DH and i managed to have a night away this week, together!

it's been our wedding anniversary and we try hard to make sure we do something special...not being woken up by songs and scratching at the door was a rare treat!

signandsingcarols · 09/12/2011 17:43

hi all.... my ds was watching dr who with dh this aft Grin. he is also enjoying space 1999, altho he calls it space 99, like its an ice cream Grin ...

good week here, school nativity over and done with... and my observered practice for college as well, so big 'phew' all round, Grin.

We had the 'mummy's (and daddy's) Christmas meal yesterday for all the people who come to the coffee and cake morning a friend and I do each week, lovely time had by all, good mulled wine and included some ukranian (sp) specialities done by one of the mums,

ds has been fab, (altho he is now so tired he is the king of grump, and he has been 'away with the fairies' all week, as far as instructions and sensible behaviour goes Hmm). Finally got round to getting to Hop Skip and Jump and ds is now booked in for a couple of sessions during the hols, (if he likes it I can plan to drop him there when I am teaching on a saturday, which will be better for dh)

right enough aimless detail, how is everyone else???

coff33pot · 09/12/2011 17:43

We will chat to you Indigo Grin

Fingers crossed for you on the melatonin front into having a lie in (or even a whole nights sleep) is like winning the lottery in this house so I hope it works for you.

Dont like Dr Who I am scared of the dialeks Grin

Hi rebel glad you are having a nice calming evening!

Just done DS tea. DD is at her nans after flute lessons, she is doing great there I think the playing for children in need gave her a real confidence boost.

Cat had op as some know. She is ok but trying to play Houdini and escape outside at every oportunity! DH left window open just now and I had to run out the door and leap on a wall to get her back quick before bandage got wet. So there I am in the dark up a wall in the RAIN with cat in arms and DS creeps up behind me and says "what about my pudding?" Confused Tell him I got a slight emergency at the moment and my hands are full. He tells me "its ok if you tuck the cat under your other arm you can have an emergency and still do my pudding for me" Hmm

Happy Anniversary Santa! Grin

creatovator · 09/12/2011 17:50

Hi all,

Into glad ds is more settled now. Hope the tablets work.

We've had a good week. A SALT who can't get a job contacted me wanting to shadow me on a voluntary basis in my work. I'm still not back to work yet, but suggested she could volunteer with DS. She's said she'd like to and is coming to see me on Tuesday Grin Grin. SALTs are impossible to get in my area so I'm over the moon.

I've also managed to finish an evaluation which was the end of the contract which I did have to do for work, but is also research for my MSc.

And today, I've actually felt good Smile.

Santastoo It's great when you manage to get away. DH and I try to do the same and usually manage at least 1 night.

I've probably cross posted now.

intothewest · 09/12/2011 17:52

COFF that's logical Grin

My cat came home limping last week-2 mins in the vet £50 please !! I know you paid loads. I wonder if I'm too old to retrain ....

sheepgomeep · 09/12/2011 17:52

good evening all Grin

Ive got a night of peace and quite. ds and dd1 have gone to thier dads for the night and all I gotta do is put the younger girls to bed and voila feet up for the night.

TOTU · 09/12/2011 17:54

Hello all

Happy anniversary Santa.

Sign I can't watch Dr Who at all. Bad memories from the theme tune and Daleks from when I was younger.

High points: It was my boys 7th birthday this week. Xmas Smile

Low points: One of them has been extremely hard work this week.

Oh well, it could be worse! Have a good evening/weekend everyone. I'll be in the land of nod by 8pm.

creatovator · 09/12/2011 17:54

Sign sounds like you've been busy.

Hi coff33 glad you caught the cat

sheep enjoy your eve,

santastooearlymustdache · 09/12/2011 18:21

please forgive me for not being able to keep up with you all Blush but thanks for the good wishes Smile

i'm also trying not to get wound up by DDs disinterested unware teacher Sad

she is very likely to have a DX of Aspergers (according to our CAMHS nurse) and we are trying to get her some visual aids set up for her in school, eg. picture prompt cards to remind her to pick her bag up etc when she leaves to go home.
He has stuck the picture on her peg

I am making her a prompt card at home

coff33pot · 09/12/2011 18:33

Hi sheep oooh you have got a nice chilled night in store Grin

into TRAIN I will use you. It just cost me another £27 just for them to change her bandage on top of the op! Hope your cat is ok now. Oh and yes DS had his "logical for goodness sake mum" look on his face.....

sign you are ALWAYS busy! Grin

creator good for you with the in limbo SALT :) They are goldust so what an opportune moment for you.

coff33pot · 09/12/2011 18:36

sign The dialeks stil give me nightmares. I bought a small radio controlled blue one for DS last xmas thinking its tiny and it dont speak. Xmas day the thing ran up behind me in the kitchen and out came the "we will exterrrrrminate!" [shudder] I went upstairs and got proudly told that they now climb stairs tooooooo

Ineedchristmascake · 09/12/2011 18:48

Hi all, nothing exciting has happened here this week.

I have been ill most of the week, only a cold but it was the last thing I needed at this stage of the termHmm.

Dd3 has had a good week but is a bit stressy about all this xmas stuff at school and her friend has gone to hosp for an opp, no one has really talked to Dd3 about it so am popping in on Monday to see if someone can just have 5 mins with her to explain what is happening.

Hope everyone has a good weekend, we are going to try to have a quiet one.

coff33pot · 09/12/2011 18:53

Hi ineed grotty colds around everywhere.....hope you shake it off soon :)

madwomanintheattic · 09/12/2011 19:05

busy week here, been in and out of the city for ds1's full assessment, dd2 was visited by the physio in school and she has recommended total rehaul of everything and wants her to be referred to the neurodevelopmental clinic at the children's hosp for a few different things. (she changed her seating and dd2 had 3 day meltdown) my car had a catastrophic failure of a wheel bearing and has been in the shop all week, so i had to get a hire car to get ds1 to his appointments (then it was a snowstorm for my entire journey there and back the first day), then i had to change the hire car because they agreed i could have a courtesy car as the warranty would cover the repairs (but i had the wrong make) so i had to switch them again. dd2 fell over at dance and broke her new glasses . and i'm supposed to be taking the brownies to do a christmas concert at the senior's centre, but they are currently quarantined for gastric flu.

just another week in the life of a slightly harassed mother of 3. oh, and dd2 is now hacking her lungs up (which explains the overly wobbly dance ishoos) so now i'm doing the chest infection patrol.

but it's the weekend tomorrow. and whilst i quite fancy a pyjama day, i'm getting my hair cut at 9am. at least there will be no kids with me! Grin maybe sunday is pyjama day?

you all sound suspiciously calm. apparently it's christmas soon. i really must try to get that organised!

creatovator · 09/12/2011 19:12

Ineed Hope the cold goes soon.

Madwoman Sounds like a fraught week! Hope you have a calmer weekend.

We've nearly got Christmas covered now, but that's because I've been off work ill, have ordered online and have lowered my expectations Xmas Grin.

coff33pot · 09/12/2011 19:13

I was calm madwoman..............till I read your thread! Grin I think after a week like that I would probably be bald!

Extended LONG hair appointment is needed. Excuse of big que? slow learner? anything that gets you more relaxation Grin

Ineedchristmascake · 09/12/2011 19:14

Wow Madwoman, what a week you have had, I am exhausted just reading about itXmas Grin.

As far as being calm goes, I can only speak for me but I am sooo tired I can''t be anything but calm.

I have done most of the xmas shopping online, but now feel really sorry for the poor postie.

Am taking Dd2 and 3 shopping on Sunday morning to buy pressies for their friends, probably BHS and Wilco then home if Dd3 has anything to do with it.Xmas Grin.
