Mahoosive congratulations starlight! I love having 3, but I must admit it did push me over the edge to insanity, but then i was teetering with 2 and it only took a nudge!
I too would not be without number 3. Every child adds a new dimension to the family.

brilliant star, congratulations Grin.

Congrats Star - wishing you every happiness!!

madwomanintheattic · 27/09/2011 15:40

oh, congrats starlight! how lovely!

StarlightMcKenzie · 27/09/2011 15:46

Thank you all.

I probably would have stuck at two if I had returned to work as planned (i.e. the plan wasn't to have a child with a disability), but I kind of feel that since this is my job, I deserve a promotion!

I know that is a bit of an odd way of thinking.

I have also managed to get ds into a poncy school with his statement (although he may well not stay there long term). I feel kind of obliged to push as many siblings through it as some kind of small consolation.

Doubt I'll get to 4 though Grin

Starlight, I've found having three has made me more laid-back as a parent, not only with dd, but also with the other two. I particularly loved the newborn and 'baby' stages, as the whole family just felt so right and connected by 'our baby', and it felt like we worked as more of a team than we had before. We feel right as a family of five - when there were four of us, I always felt there was something missing.

We were so worried about going for a third child, classic fear of being outnumbered quite apart from anything else Grin - but I can honestly say I/we have never regretted it for a second.

I honestly think I am less snappy and more patient now than I was when the boys were toddlers, despite being a lot busier and often meeting myself coming back! Grin
