maryellenwalton · 27/09/2011 11:53

Huge congratulations. Having a third was the best thing we ever did, for every member of the family

moosemama · 27/09/2011 12:03

Snap, maryellen.

Dd (now 2.7) is our third and she has brought something very special to each of us, especially ds1. I think he's learned a lot about social interaction, reciprocal play and patience from being involved in her life as she develops and grows and he often asks questions about what she says and does in an attempt to understand nt behaviour better.

She's also been fantastic for ds2, having another sibling to play with, especially when ds1 is not in a good frame of mind. They have a lovely bond and play so sweetly together.

For dh and I, having dd has helped us to regain confidence in our parenting skills, after years of questioning whether ds1's problems were 'our fault'. Even once he had a dx and we essentially knew we weren't to blame, there was always that nagging doubt and somehow it helps seeing dd developing 'normally' (whatever that is) - even if it is the 'terrible twos' and potty training! Hi. Thanks for the info about three, but can I ask, will it make me more impatient and snappy or less so?
