Hi all. Enjoying the lovely weather?

Do you like my new name? I got bored with the "1".

Evening Ellenjaneisnotmyname! Yes, like the new name, thinking of changing mine tbh. Weather is now crap over here, it's raining. However, kids (touch wood) are behaving and I have sweets, chocolate and a good book for later on when all in bed! Have you had a good week?

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 06/05/2011 19:37

Yes, thanks. Shame about the rain. I had a day off with DS2 and DS3 yesterday as school was shut for polling. I'm getting a bit stressed about the SATs next week, but playing down for DS2. It doesn't matter how he does, of course, but the school get all worried about it.

Pass some chocolate over here, please.

Evening ladies! Have just got my jammies on and have opened a tub of Caramel Cinnamon waffle ice-cream probably not the most nutritious of evening meals but who cares!!!!!

cankles · 06/05/2011 19:44

It's a crunchie. I'll break you a bit off ......... here.

Yeah, ds2 was off yesterday as well created childcare problems!! which thankfully we got sorted!

Why do the school get worried? I'm not sure that our lot are doing SAT's (have a feeling school opted out?).

that's my new name what do you think?

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 06/05/2011 19:49

Hi Giggles, ice cream sounds yummy!

Hey Cankles. Who were you? Give us a few clues, see if we can guess!

It doesn't matter to me how DS does in his SATs but the school like their league table position to be good. No employer ever asks you how you did in your Y6 SATs!

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 06/05/2011 19:51

Damn, you're HelensMelons aren't you? Dur!

OP posts:
cankles · 06/05/2011 19:53

thank goodness, a bit like the 11+ then! (was HelensMelons). We will know what school ds1 gets into in 2 weeks, fingers crossed.

Ice cream sounds good.

cankles · 06/05/2011 19:53

lol!!

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 06/05/2011 19:54

evening all Smile

is that you helens?

ellen, my ds1 does his next week, definitely more for the benefit of the school than the child! High schools all do their own testing in the first half term anyway.

my hay fever has been awful this week but have spent most of my time trying to get people to look at dd2s amended proposed statement, that's been fun Hmm At least all the groups we do have been back to usual.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 06/05/2011 19:56

How old is your DS1, cankles?

asdx2 · 06/05/2011 19:59

Hi everyone the euphoria of yesterday was brought to a swift end when ds's school rang at lunchtime to say ds was having a bad day Sad After much chilling and his favourite TA joining him in the chill out he was eventually able to write that he thinks I am going to send him to a care home. He didn't grasp at all that the head yesterday was from a school because she spoke of living skills and no exams. He has acute separation anxiety so it would be his worst nightmare and has knocked him for six Sad Lots of reassurance that he will need repeatedly for the next few days to hopefully get him back on an even keel.So sad for him today.

cankles · 06/05/2011 20:00

He's 11 so over here he's in P7 and will move into Year 8 (first form) in September.

Hi Ninja, think the hayfever has been worse because it has been windy (it has been blowy here but nice until today)but kwym.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 06/05/2011 20:08

I'm still flapping about the transition, Ninja! Where are you, Cankles, N Ireland?

Poor old DS, asdx2. So easy to get the wrong end of the stick, especially if they don't tell you their concerns. Big hug that he will probably hate!

cankles · 06/05/2011 20:10

Poor ds asdx2; I hope he feels better in a few days.

Yes in N. Ireland.

asdx2 · 06/05/2011 20:11

No hugs here Ellen but has allowed a kiss on the particular spot on the top of his head. That's the only physical contact he'll tolerate.

nenevomito · 06/05/2011 20:12

Evening all. Glad to know I'm not the only one in my pjs eating chocolate already. I'm just waiting for my Brew to arrive

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 06/05/2011 20:27

Evening babyheave. Will you be sharing that chocolate?

Cankles, is it your DS who will go on the train? We got our school places through end of Feb!

Asdx2, doesn't stop you wanting to hug them, does it! Sad

Ooh, great thunder and lightning here in Glos!

IndigoBell · 06/05/2011 20:28

Evening.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 06/05/2011 20:32

Hi Indigo. How are you and your DD doing?

OP posts:
nenevomito · 06/05/2011 20:36

Yes

Its the last of the DCs easter eggs you understand Grin

No rain here yet, but threatening clouds so the lid is firmly on the sandpit!

cankles · 06/05/2011 20:37

Evening Indigo!

Yes, if he gets into the school he would like to go to, he will go by train (can't imagine it, but have to let go!). Am now in jammies.

I wish we found out in February too, the end of May seems soooooo long (although only 2 wks left)!

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 06/05/2011 20:39

They've only got Nestles Easter egg left, it's not the same. Great forked lightning here, no rain yet.

Hi, am checking in for the first time!

Have been on hols this week, went well, late bedtimes and a few strops but nothing different to being at home. So, all in all had a relaxing (sort of!) time as family there to cook, tidy up and pour me Wine.

Hoping to start ABA soon but just waiting for DH to do his research now!!

Bit worried about DS2 (19mths) and not walking/cruising yet.

Hope the SATs week goes v quickly for your DC's and not too much anxiety. I am years away but makes me nervous just thinking about it.

Enjoy your chocolates and any other treats you having tonight.

I am on the Wine

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 06/05/2011 20:42

Cankles, that doesn't seem fair.

Ooh, thunderspots!

IndigoBell · 06/05/2011 20:47

Good. DD is doing really well. Even school have noticed that she can read (After she made a point of reading her chapter book at lunchtime where everyone could see Grin)

Although just found out that the class TA acted as a writer for her today during their writing assessment. Not happy about that. They need to teach her to write not dictate.
