Hi everyone, hope you all don't mind me starting the thread again?

happy to report the snot fairy has departed from the sign household! yay! Grin
dh has been up to his mums for 3 days this week, saw all his friends and basically got pampered by his mum... so he is a happy bunny, and ds has been a little star while daddy was away.

week has been good, although the marking is mounting up, Hmm and I am cooking for a dozen on Sunday (birthday next week)

How have all your weeks been?

Not a good day here. DS2 was up all night ill and home from school with high temp and really feeling dreadful (although not sure what's causing it, so keeping a close eye). My father has been in ICU in the states this week, and he passed away this morning (on their wedding anniversary). Thank God DH is taking over everything as my brain is on overload. Sad

asdx2 · 25/03/2011 18:34

Absolute rubbish here. Still waiting for LEA to name a school for ds's 16 plus education. Took them 10 days to contact the Independent SS I requested regarding suitable peer group. There is one I know I saw them myself with the head of the unit.
They are pissing about supposedly going through the motions when they let slip to the head of the unit I will have to go to Tribunal.
It's taking every bit of restraint I have not to phone and say put down whatever you want so that I can move it on but instead I am logging everything to send to the Ombudsman.
Ds to start anti d's this weekend which will be a trauma and an ordeal to get him to swallow 1.25 ml and heaven help us if he gets side effects.
Dd is dd nothing much changes there apart from the nagging for a Nintendo 3ds which will hit fever pitch when she actually sees one.

Thecarrotcake · 25/03/2011 18:35

Hey sign < waves>

glad the snot fairy has departed :)

bit RL mad here the last little while and mad mad next week.

But I am sort of still about .. And big bottle of wine is on the table.

intothewest · 25/03/2011 18:51

Hi all
Triggles, how are you? that must be very hard-
Sign-do you get to go away and be pampered ? Smile

Well it is that time again-wine in the fridge and bedtime routine-

Not been on much-struggling to come to some decisions about ds's school -going round in circles(as he is,running round and round the sitting room !)

difficult things going on in RL,so I may try to come back later with my real wine !

Smartiehouse · 25/03/2011 19:03

Hi All

Tough week with constipation, not eating and general grumpiness that sets in with all of that - dd that is, not me :)

But at least the sun has been shining!

moosemama · 25/03/2011 19:09

Evening,

Triggles so sorry for your loss. Hope you can take some time for yourself to process and grieve.

Sorry for all the continuing school struggles with everyone else.

As you've probably seen from my thread on Wednesday, we are finally en route to a statement. Inclusion team met with the SENCO yesterday and I have had an email from them today saying they've reviewed the evidence and now want to meet with me to move things forwards, which sounds promising.

I have also started the whole family on veggie omega and dha capsules after doing some research about it over the last couple of weeks. Have diaried it in, so it'll be interesting to see if there's any positive effects in the next few weeks.

Am hoping for a quiet weekend, as I am far more exhausted than I should be and worried I'm sliding into another CFS crash having barely recovered from the last one. So frustrating, am totally exhausted, but also imsomniac. Hmm Got a family party tomorrow, which I have to go and help cook and decorate for, but plan to veg as much as possible on Sunday.

Ds is in the school play on Monday and Tuesday, then leaves for his outward bound trip on Friday lunchtime and dh has two interviews, one of which is a second interview that he has to do a tonne of prep for. So its gearing up to be another stressful week.

We are late with tea this evening, so have bunged a load of frozen food in the oven and left dh to dish up.

I have dark chocolate macaroons and strawberry cheesecake Haagen Daas for snackies this evening - yum!

moosemama · 25/03/2011 19:10

Hi Smartiehouse,

Yes, it makes all the difference when the sun shines doesn't it. I hear you with the grumpy constipated child problems - that's ds2 in our house.

EllenJane1 · 25/03/2011 19:17

Oh, Triggles that's so sad, and so far away. Lots of (((hugs))).

It's been fine here this week. DS2 had a whistle stop tour of his soon to be secondary school. Took the camera but forgot to take any photos!

I sat in the park for an hour this pm and have burnt my nose.

We've got a babysitter and are going out for a curry. You may have picked up a bit of an Indian theme for my Fridays!

signandsmile · 25/03/2011 19:17

Hi smartie (didn't get to say welcome last week).

triggles I'm really sorry to hear your news, you and family are in our thoughts.

ASDx2 that sounds a bugger of a week..

and that sounds one very widely stretched moose , IFSWIM, Grin

evening all Smile

triggles, so sorry to hear your news about your dad Sad

I'm joining the trouble with school and LEA gang this week. Have been lied to one to many times this week and have upset the caseworker, guess it'll be even longer now until we hear about dd3s school place, time is ticking on her school offer, they need to stop pissing around and make a decision Angry I was also supposed to have the proposed amended statement this week as well

has been lovely to see a bit of sun though, sat drinking tea outside this morning with auntevil Smile she says hi to all this evening!

signandsmile · 25/03/2011 19:19

Now have visions of moose teetering above ravine with one hoof on each side... Grin

(my sis has CFS, so I am empathising...)

EllenJane1 · 25/03/2011 19:21

Oh, moose, guess what? Yes, crossed again. Can't believe that school trip is so close now!

EllenJane1 · 25/03/2011 19:25

What are anti-ds ASDx2?

Ben10isthespawnofthedevil · 25/03/2011 19:26

Hello All

Sorry for your loss Triggles. You are right to let DH just deal with everything. You have enough to be dealing with.

Got put at risk of redundancy this week with neuro appt tomorrow to see why my arm and hand muscle are wasting away. Sad

Annoyed with the school yet again who don't seem to be able to manage their behaviour policies. DS got 29/30 smilies this week but didn't go in the "praise book" so didn't get the certificate that he was expecting in assembly. No wonder he switches off Confused

DS and I are home alone tonight so we are early to bed. DS with fruit shoot Blush and me with Magners Pear Wine

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 25/03/2011 19:26

sign waves back Grin they are indeed but I will get what dd3 needs, the sooner they realise and give in the better! How's the signing going at school?

Triggles · 25/03/2011 19:27

thank you all, I'm coping at the moment, but only just. Trying to keep busy now, as with DS2 ill, I can't afford to fall apart.

moose sounds like you're quite busy - but good idea with the Haagen Daas, sounds like an ideal bit of relaxation...

ellenjane hope you have a lovely evening!

sign glad the snot fairy left lol.. think she's still hovering over our house

intothewest I always feel like I'm on the back foot in making school decisions - I second guess myself all the time as I'm worried I'll mess it all up. Best of luck with your deliberating!

thecarrotcake sounds busy - enjoy your wine and your weekend!

smartie constipation is miserable, hope your dd is feeling better soon. should have a brilliant day of sunshine on sunday (according to weather reports), so enjoy!!

signandsmile · 25/03/2011 19:31

ninja signing going really well, they are so commited, (I went in to wait for the session and the secretary said, 'oh there have been complaints', I thought oh shit! and then she said 'yes all the other staff have been complaining they didn't get on the course, Grin. I said I would be happy to run it again for suitable remuneration, Grin Grin.

Hows your practice ? PS you don't know the sign for nits do you? (I have Deaf friend visiting sun, so can ask him).

OP posts:
Triggles · 25/03/2011 19:31

ninja good luck in the fight - can't believe they've lied to you! that's horrible. Am feeling very naive here. hope it all sorts out for you!

ben10 oh no - that's miserable! 29 out of 30 and no acknowledgement! unbelievable!! he must be gutted as well as frustrated. sorry about the redundancy risk - that means it's not definite, though, right? fingers crossed!

signandsmile · 25/03/2011 19:33

cross post, ben10 that sounds really demoralising for your ds, Sad

OP posts:
EllenJane1 · 25/03/2011 19:33

Hi triggles. The kids were what got me through it when my dad died 7 years ago. You have to carry on. Still hurts and I'm so sorry he didn't get to know my boys properly. Sounds like you have a good one in your DH.

Ninjagoose, you seem to be trying to keep lots of plates spinning!

EllenJane1 · 25/03/2011 19:37

Ben10, still no word about your job? Bloody schools should be more bloody consistent. Don't they realise how things like this can be devastating for our dc?

Ben10isthespawnofthedevil · 25/03/2011 19:37

The first thing he said as he bounded down the stairs this morning with a smile on his face was about this certificate. This would have been only his 5th good week since September to get to bronze level. Am very annoyed but I let him go to afterschool club so didn't see the teacher.

DS has his private OT assessment on Monday so will be challenging her on Tuesday.

I work for one of the big banks and they have put 400 of us on risk. I think a third to half will probably go. I find out on 6th April but combined with almost being at the end of my paid sick leave it is not a good combo!

EllenJane1 · 25/03/2011 19:38

I know the sign for bee, wasp and ant, might it be little crawly 'n' on head?

bochead · 25/03/2011 19:39

I'm just so tired and have had enough of constantly fighting.

DS's key issue is sensory, (noise) and is the key reason everything went to pot at the nursery/school transition stage; yet it's not even mentioned in his final statement. There's only so many times you can repeat yourself over 2.5 years. The NAS have advised me to go for a second opinion on his "borderline autistic diagnosis". The school named by the lea are taking him under duress, they copied me in on the letter they sent to the school to force him to take, and the language disturbs me.

His Dad (left when I was pg) has decided he still loves me and wants to come "to help sort him out". The man suffers from blunt effect so I must be in trouble.

At this stage it's tribunal or shove him in the new school for as long as it takes me to get back to work up, up sticks and move somewhere completely different. If we move to a different area my understanding is that the statement gets rewritten anyway & I'm thinking it could be faster in the long run as I can't sustain this crapola for another 12 years.

Gonna take DS out for some sunshine tomorrow & tackle some housework and stress about it all come Monday. Will bake a dozen cupcakes and eat the lot too. If adult mhs is as bad round here as Camhs I really can't afford to break down about it all lol!
