Hi everyone, hope you all don't mind me starting the thread again?

happy to report the snot fairy has departed from the sign household! yay! Grin
dh has been up to his mums for 3 days this week, saw all his friends and basically got pampered by his mum... so he is a happy bunny, and ds has been a little star while daddy was away.

week has been good, although the marking is mounting up, Hmm and I am cooking for a dozen on Sunday (birthday next week)

How have all your weeks been?

Not Mac West? My dsis works for them in Bristol and it's not good.

Ben10isthespawnofthedevil · 25/03/2011 19:43

I am still astounded having been on this boards for a few months how much parents have to fight for their children.

The parents of only NT children have no idea....... My DS has difficulties which are nowhere near as bad as some of you on here and it is just a constant daily battle at the moment.

The bank who didn't take a bailout and the CEO got a £6.5 m bonus

EllenJane1 · 25/03/2011 19:44

Crap day bochead. Saw your post but couldn't really add any advice. Sad

EllenJane1 · 25/03/2011 19:45

Oi Sign, what are you saying about me being stretched wide? (Does my bum look big in this? Blush Wink) AND I have hooves as well! Shock Grin

Ds2 told me this week that I am a very big Mummy! Hmm Then later on when I jokingly called him 'scruff boy' in reference to the state of his uniform when I picked him up from school, said "well you are scruffy Mummy". Shock I asked him what he meant and he told me that I'm sometimes scruffy in the playground. Pointed out to him that I always do my hair and get changed into something smart for the school run, so actually am never scruffy in the playground and he said "yes you were - once". Hmm Asked him when, only to be told, last year one day, when I wore a festival tshirt and jeans to pick him up! Said tshirt was in fact brand new, as were the rather smart black jeans and I only wore them to school as I was still on a bit of a festy alternative buzz and wanted to see what the other parents' reaction would be - I accurately predicted that they would give be the cold shoulder, despite being happy to speak to me every other bloomin day - bunch of snotty snobs!

So ds has done wonders for my self confidence, especially as I have gained back all the weight I lost recently and was already feeling fat and frumpy. Hmm

Despite all the above, I fully intend to indulge in the aforementioned ice-cream to my heart's content. Grin

Ben10isthespawnofthedevil · 25/03/2011 19:55

Love the "festy alternative buzz" just to piss off the other parents MM Grin

Enjoy your icecream!

EllenJane1 · 25/03/2011 19:56

My boys wouldn't know what I was wearing. I get told off occasionally if I wear a different coat cos they can't spot me 'tis all.

EllenJane1 · 25/03/2011 19:58

Know what you mean about putting weight back on. I'm now only one pound lighter than (tall) DH.

signandsmile · 25/03/2011 20:04

oh moose, they do have a way of bringing you down... ( i have to say its a lot mor relaxed round 'ere, trackies and jeans for pick up...)

Thankfully ds doesn't care what I wear-That's dd's department! ...'are you wearing that to....no it's fine' etc.

Well dh did the bathtime and bed Smilestill won't be able to get near computer often as dd is on it most of the time-our fault for not letting her have her own one in her bedroom

EllenJane1 · 25/03/2011 20:08

My babysitter has arrived! Yippee. See you much much later.

intothewest · 25/03/2011 20:08

....at least I make sure I'm not in my pjs when I put ds on the bus in the morning

moosemama · 25/03/2011 20:09

Thanks Ben10 - there's still a small fragment of rebel in me somewhere I guess. Grin

Sorry, I'm not keeping up with reading the thread, all three dcs are still up and creating merry mahem around me. Dh is supposed to be do the bedtime thing tonight, but is quite obviously underachieving at this point. Grin

I really need to do something about my weight, I have yo-yo'd really badly since I broke my foot last year. My size is bad enough, but I seriously want to do something about trying to be more healthy.

I usually find when I can walk, I feel much better, want to eat healthy food and just don't seem to crave junk food and chocolate. Once I've got into a regular routine and am doing a decent distance, I tend to find it staves off the CFS exhaustion - probably because my whole system is that much healther. I was doing so well until last June, but after 8 weeks in a cast followed by a walking ban, it was pretty much a foregone conclusion that I'd end up in this state.

I've think I've decided to ignore the phsyio and just start building my walking up now, especially now the weather is so much better, it makes such a difference to me mentally as well as physically. Not sure how long its going to take to get me back up to 5 miles a day though, it hurts to walk to the corner shop at the moment. Sad

bochead · 25/03/2011 20:11

moose - your lad needs to have a chat with mine ; ) His Gran is not fat "she's just right to cuddle" and woe betide anyone who says different.

I'm not allowed to wear lipstick, pink would deffo be made illegal if ds was world dictator and he HATES women "who spend all their time making themselves beautiful".

moosemama · 25/03/2011 20:17

Have a good one Ellen! Smile

Jeans are ok on the school run, but trackies are out unless very expensive, accompanied by even more expensive trainers and meticulously groomed Mum is obviously en-route to the gym.

We have the derigeur school run dress thing going on as well, in the summer its a veritable fashion parade - clouds of white linen, White Company, White Stuff, Joules etc. I usually go for a smart pair of clean jeans and a plain, unnoticeable top - I do however always wear my Dr Martens with bright purple stripey laces - so I never quite pass unnoticed. Wink

Personally I love the winter, as as long as you have a good quality coat you can shove it over anything and no-one knows you have your egg-stained, dyed grey in the wash, tshirt on underneath. Wink Grin

moosemama · 25/03/2011 20:20

Lol at making lipstick illegal bochead. Ds1 hates pink with a vengeance. I told him today that I'm going to try and desensitise him by making him watch Barbie on NickJr - he ran away screaming! Grin

Ds2 on the other hand, secretly harbours pink as his favourite colour (it always has been ever since he learned his colours). He tells his friends that his favourite is red though - as apparently that's as close as you can get to pink without being called girly. Wink Grin

signandsmile · 25/03/2011 20:21

ive got an annual pass for the council sports centres, so now the snot has disapated i must get back to swimming.. you are encouraging me moose. Grin

sign, I'd sign school pet as that's what nits are known as here, just got rid of a load last week! Good to hear all is well with the school, that's rather reassuring isn't it Smile Practice is slow but getting there, some of us a meeting tomorrow for a little extra practice, someone is baking so think there will be a good turnout!

enjoy your evening ellenjane Smile

moose, it's hard not to go out when we have lovely sun, especially after the miserable winter we had this year. It's always jeans and tshirt here thankfully, couldn't be doing with dressing for the school run, not my thing at all, not that I wouldn't mind looking half decent for once . . .

ben10, hope you get some answers soon, losing job isn't good. Hope you can sort something with the teacher.

bochead, keep plodding on, they'll get fed up of the stuck record repeating eventually.

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 25/03/2011 20:25

moose, barbie has that effect on me too Grin

moosemama · 25/03/2011 20:37

And me - but don't tell ds. Wink

I remember years ago when I was expecting ds1, dh found an Australian doll called Feral Cheryl online. It was sold as an anti-fashion doll and as the thinking girl's alternative to to Barbie. It was proper woman shaped, had dreadlocks, piercings and pubic hair and dressed like a crusty! Shock

Dh was determined to buy one had ds been a girl. He checked again when we found out we were expecting dd, but the company that made them has gone out of business! Their website is still up though Grin

Marne · 25/03/2011 20:42

I'm too tired to move Grin.

Have had a good week is some ways, bad in others, i'm loving the sun shine (as i suffer from SAD) so have been feeling great and managed to get out in the garden. Got our grant from family fund and went out and got the dd's a climbing frame today (which will take all weekend to put together), Dd2 had a great session with OT on monday and has been relaxed all week.

On the down side, dd1 seems to be suffering with depression and has spent all week curled up in a ball crying and moaning, have now drugged her to get her to sleep and i really don't know what i'm going to do with her for 2 days Sad.

moosemama · 25/03/2011 20:53

Hi Marne, just posted on your other thread. Not sure how much help I can be, but have explained what we did with ds1 when he got into a similar state last year.

Would a day out over the weekend take her mind off it at all. We didn't think we could reach ds1 last weekend, but it was a visit to some old friends on Sunday that finally brought him out of it.
