DD2 has been to school every day this week.

she has been pretty vile most evenings but still 5 days in a row!!!!!! Shock

and DD1 got an A and a B for her GCSE science modules Grin Shock [PFBmoment]

AtYourCervix · 14/01/2011 17:21

I also have a bottle of red calling me from the winerack.

StartingAfresh · 14/01/2011 17:21

Yay, - and AtYourCervix Gimme your name right NOW!!!!

AtYourCervix · 14/01/2011 17:23

the fabulous Pagwatch suggested it. i am rather liking it Grin

your softplay thing looks great. DD would have loved it a couple of years ago (is far too cool and grown up now)

StartingAfresh · 14/01/2011 17:24

lisad, we're all in non-descript boring clothes (with colourful odd socks however)

Honestly, I can't think of anything to describe us. But I'll try and find you.

StartingAfresh · 14/01/2011 17:26

But but it's got computers, and a climbing wall and Dodgems and everything (although I admit I've never been before but am quite excited).

StartingAfresh · 14/01/2011 17:26

Sorry (cakey) for banging on. You wanna talk about your IEP Shitpiss?

auntevil · 14/01/2011 17:27

AtYour Cervix - had you thought of a career in making up IKEA furniture? i heard that they charge a pretty penny for that service. Then we could all go on a night out at Gambado's (did i get the name right?) including Fanjo and her flight! Grin

lisad123isasnuttyasaboxoffrogs · 14/01/2011 17:28

scrap what I said DD2 would be wearing, shes wearing her tea so will have to change her Hmm
I think there is a pic on my profile and im on the FB group too

AtYourCervix · 14/01/2011 17:31

was signandsmile who can do Ikea furniture - I'm rubbish at it Grin

DD would love the sooftplay place but it's too far and she just said 'But i haven't got aspergers' Hmm yeah right DD.

Cake - where do you go from here? any plan?

StartingAfresh · 14/01/2011 17:31

Your profile is secret though!

It's okay. I'll find you if I have to ask everyone in the building Grin

Mssoul · 14/01/2011 17:35

Hi. Sorry for butting in - actually don't know why the sn topic suddenly has shown up but I am a nosey bugger, so couldn't help but peek Grin

I want to say I think you are all wonderful and love the fact that some of you have arranged to meet and have some fun at the same time supporting each other this evening.

Please don't find this patronising - I see and work with carers every day, my Mum is one to my aunt who has downs syndrome and I so often wish they had better networks of support...

Thecarrotcake · 14/01/2011 17:35

:) I have ammended the IEP ready for Monday ..i want to come to soft play but it's way too far! ( hours lol)

do have a great time :)

Have fun tonight, will raise a chilled glass of white to you, maybe more than one.

This week:
2 visits to potential new schools
1 sad meeting with Head of current one
1 time told by admissions team they don't care about children with physical disabilities
1 letter of complaint written
1 OFSTED contacted to complain
1 set of diclocated cervical vertebrae

still
0 answer re DLA
0 answer re spinal specialist being found
0 point of visiting hospital cos they are crap

but ended week with ds at home where he belongs so all in all....... could have been worse Grin

Now, where is that bottle opener?

StartingAfresh · 14/01/2011 17:41

Oh Mssoul this isn't a private party. We're a bit loose actually and let anyone in who likes us......Grin

signandsmile · 14/01/2011 17:44

Hi cervix (never thought I would get to type that!) I quite like the ikea stuff more alan (sp?) key than screwdriver!

altho I did plan and build 8 foot high and 3 foot wide bookcase/unit from scratch over christmas. (Is there an emoticon for boasting?? Blush)

proud owner of my own drill, and bought a work bench this week, (how sad am I???)

Marne · 14/01/2011 17:46

This week:
OT appointment for dd2
OT visit to the school for dd2
Trying to chase up OT for dd1
Arguing with school as they wont pay for a form they need to fill in for dd1.
Sent off forms for family fund.
Finished dd2's DLA forms (well almost)
Managed to get dd2 to do her first full day at school.

Oh and today i managed to take both dd's to the GP on my own without them running riot in the waiting room Grin, on the down side dd1 has flu and is wiping her nose on everything.

Ineed a glass (or 2) of wine and a big bar of chocolate Grin.

Mssoul · 14/01/2011 17:48

Aw ta. Yo all seem great - I have yet to find my Mumsnet place - been here on and off for ages, but find it all a bit scary and, dare I say it, cliquey (but extremely addictive!).

I could tell you some stories too(I work in adult ld service delivery and used to be front line in day services) Grin

Anyhoo bath time beckons... Maybe see ya later Smile

superfantastic · 14/01/2011 17:51

Evening all! :)

Overall a good week here;

Visited possible new MS school...love it, applied to tranfer DD.
DP had second interview for swanky job....waiting for the verdict!
Set up meeting with extra SALT at University...so DD can be studied/free SALT.
Nagged Autism outreach...coming on Monday.

(Bad bits....now 60 DCs in DDs class, she isnt coping, face picking and exhaustion along with irratic sleep patterns. :( ...I asked school to give her quiet time to help her cope, the answer i got...she gets quiet time, reading sat in the carpet area (still in the 60 dc classroom Angry ) ..A lot of dcs find the start of term tough....[buscuit] )

Wont be online much Im afraid...Im about to drink red wine, eat curry and attempt to play kinnect with my friend...who goes to the gym, has no kids and so is in much better shape than me!

bigcar · 14/01/2011 18:23

up and down week here, dla forms finally in the post, only 14 additional sheets and reports, didn't want to take any chances of not providing enough info Hmm LEA agreed to consult the out of borough school we want Grin Grin Grin got the paperwork to find no mention of the changes to the statement we needed Sad so primary need is wrong so have had to copy reports all over again and send off emails, still not sorted [sigh] Met lovely auntevil and made her late for collecting her ds Blush Got home to a phone call from the school we want saying they want to assess dd3 [yay] Grin
