i REALLY want some white wine, but DH isn't here, I can't drive, and not really worth getting DD ready and dragging her to offlicence..have got some red.

SparkleRainbow · 14/01/2011 18:31

Dunno could be worth it, just don't fancy red myself.

Have changed my mind.....it has been a rubbish week. I know ds is at home and safe now, but really........think most parents expect that every night. Plus have just read a post about DLA, I am thrilled it sounds like they will get it, because that is what should be happening, but feel gutted that we won't be so lucky. Why do we have to fight for everything? Sorry to lower upbeat mood, will try to be perkier next post Blush

Ineedalife · 14/01/2011 18:33

Oh forgot to say, bought a gymball from tesco for £4 Dd3 absolutly loves it, she has been sitting, lieing[sp], rolling on it all the time she has been in the huse this week.

It says 65cms on the box but there is no way it is, she is 135cms or 4ft 5 ins and can sit on it easily with her feet on the floor.

Lol ing at Starting's odd socks, Dd1 and Gd1 and Dd2 wear odd socks because they can't be arsed to match them up.
Dd3 would go bananas if I suggested odd socksSmile

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 14/01/2011 18:37

Sparkle, I understand, all the other parents at nursery are excitedly preparing for their DCs to start at local catchment school, I have had several meetings already to decide on DD's school, have to arrange school visits and then fight for the school we want and the support she needs, just seems so hard doesn't it.

And we bought this house as it was in catchment area for great mainstream school, which DD can't go to!

Dameednabeverage · 14/01/2011 18:54

Hi all. Am really fed up so won't be good company. Really annoyed that ds keeps getting punished for doing things that school should be preventing e.g reacting to kids that are bullying him. If they gave the right support these incidents wouldn't happen and he wouldn't be really worried all the time about threat of exclusion. H knows I am pissed off and we have a meeting early next week - if she's lucky I might have calmed down by then.
Hope you all have a good weekend.
Star & Lisa - play area looks great-have fun.

OverflowingMum · 14/01/2011 19:08

evening all

Sorry for all who have had bad weeks...

Soft play looks fab (no where near us...sob!) hope you all have fab time!

I have survived the week is about all I can say LOL
Monday was girls first day back at school, new Nanny's first day and I had job interview!
I got the job - but is 4 days when I am currently only 3 days ...so stressing over this!

New Nanny seems to have coped OK.... but still quite stresful...

Did have quite positive meeting with head teacher today, and apparently I have "ruffled some feathers" in the LEA and they have suddenly found extra funding to provide dd3 with her extra 1:1 sessions as per the recpmendations on her LSA report...yay LOL so will see how that goes...fingers crossed!

Have been for a 4 mile run once DH got home so am feeling virteous and have now opened bottle of wine!

hope everyone is getting to chill this evening Grin

OverflowingMum · 14/01/2011 19:12

oh and socks....with 6 dc can you imagine how horrendous the sock situation is in our house!
In then end I put all 4 girls white socks in a big bag and they play lucky dip every morning! Although have to always buy certain types as DD3 wont wear some sorts (anything with texture on) due to the feel of them!!

uniqua4 · 14/01/2011 19:29

Have a fab night out, looks a fab place. Already started on the wine, hope to still manage a run . Celebrating ds has been invited to a party Grin and been really sweet this week.

My brother always wore odd socks, saw him over xmas at nearly 50.... still Shock

oh, better put them to bed.

Respect Overflowing. Anyone that can ruffle feathers AND get them to open their purses deserves great things.
Another one that has a grey sock section in the DSs wardrobe. I also mix and match clothes sizes when i have to take spare. Whats slightly tight on 1 is slightly large on the other and means i only have to lug around half the stuff. Hope the day comes when they both don't have major clothes incidents on the same day!

lisad123isasnuttyasaboxoffrogs · 14/01/2011 19:49

I'm in soft play looking at peoples socks!! What a fun way to spend a Friday night. Lol

Thecarrotcake · 14/01/2011 20:01

:) lisa!

I'm back on now bedtime is done :)

( although I can hear dh Reading more books .. )

socks? Pah to socks.. Ds now has adult days of the week socks... And they have to match and be the right day! I thought that he'd line them.. And he does.. I however hate them!
But at least it has encouraged clean socks everyday! :)

Hi All

Well the week that was:

1 comm paed reassured that I didn't really mean it when I told her that I would insert something if she came to the CAT meeting

1 head teacher I owe for eating my humble pie

1 result in terms of agencies coming to the CAF

1 decision to go the CAF on my own

1 head teacher told of decision

1 huge intake of breathe from head teacher Grin

Scallypants has had an ok week... he's struggling a little the last 2 days

Some of you have had much worse weeks x

Hope the soft play is good!

Ineedalife · 14/01/2011 20:11

TCC, I know after we spoke about them the other day too.

I can't believe how much she loves it, mind you it has driven us all a bit bonkers cos she is rolling all over the place, but hey we will get used to it.

I managed to find some OT exercises which use the ball too so it is going to work well for us I hope.

intothewest · 14/01/2011 20:12

well ds is in bed and dd is off the computer for 2 minutes,so I sneaked back on- I've got a gym ball in the shed- I think I might dare to get it back out again-ds is really into bouncing, but got a bit 'dangerous' last time we tried it- had the meeting at school this week and it actually went o.k.but I guess I'll have to see how things work out. DS doesn't mind what socks he has on,but he HAS to have socks...tried to take them off in the summer.....Right I've opened the wine-cheeky red anyone ?

Ineedalife · 14/01/2011 20:13

TCC meant to say LOl about your Ds's socks, Dd1 once had pants with the days of the week on it was a nightmare, I have never bought any moreGrin
Glad he likes them.

DayShiftDoris · 14/01/2011 20:21

My son is funny about socks

non matching usually and anything I dont choose. Likes them to have holes. likes to hide them!

No idea why!!

Thecarrotcake · 14/01/2011 20:25

Ineed .. Glad the ball is going down a storm .. You do get used to it :) in our house it's a godsend!

We have a bouncing mad rolling on ball in the hallway rule.. Helps with it being irrating to us and any breakages.. although we have a very clear, everything to the edges and big spaces in middles of all rooms.. And very few things that break about house lol

in fact it looks like I'm house proud.. But I'm not it's just we can't have coffee table in the middle of the room or rugs on floors ( ds is a tad clumsy).. So the space make it look clean and tidy.. When new people come over we get them telling their dc not to touch..etc all worried .. But I then get out the wobble cushions and gym balls etc for them to play with :) and end up explaining we have a safe house for ds .. Rather than a house proud house!

Actually once somebody said to him 'Your socks are odd!'

and he said 'Nope - that is sportacus (holding up one foot) and Sportacus plays football (hold up other foot)!'

Thecarrotcake · 14/01/2011 20:31

Dayshift... That is utterly brilliant! :o

Indeed Grin

His take on the world is fantastic at times!

Dameednabeverage · 14/01/2011 20:42

Thanks Carrot - will try to pm you later.

Ineedalife · 14/01/2011 20:43

Dayshift, I am loving your Ds's sock explanation.

My cousin and I [best mates] used to wear odd socks when we were teens [many years ago]
If anyone commented we used to say "No they are not odd, I have another pair the same at home!!" hehe.

bigcar · 14/01/2011 20:46

Ineed, my friend and I used to do that too, wasn't 80s was it? I seem to remember luminous being popular at the time, brightly coloured, particularly sock shop Blush
