Opening early as I have a few bits to do tonight.

As you all know I had a crappy week.. But ds came home from his sweetyrun ( with ds1) lastnight and he had bought me a twix.. To cheer me up :)

He's such a darling and I love him to bits ( even without the twix lol).

I'll hand over now and pop in when I get the time :)

Oh blimey I'd forgotten about blimming fireworks night (which round here means every night till new year).

We're actually going away for a week on Sunday, the first proper holiday in 2 years (since before dd was born, and cos DP is a workaholic who won't take time off). Is this crazy seeing as we've been toilet training ds for 3 weeks now and still are housebound every day till the poo has come (in the pants, sigh) and been dealt with, and the fact it's taken 3 weeks of major reinforcers to get him to use any loo other than our downstairs one (won't even use upstairs bathroom one). Hmm

I will regret this, won't I.

Lougle · 05/11/2010 17:36

I'm here, just.

Feel rubbish.

DD1 gone down hill lots over last few weeks. Paed is doing a blood test which will be couriered to London for AFP and White cell enzymes. Google is not my friend Sad

woolytree · 05/11/2010 17:38

OOOh holiday! :) Maybe crazy but fun too!

Ill have a large red wine and some ear defenders please! :)

Mixed bag this week...finished and posted my DLA!..At last! AAAHH! DDs school are still crap, did a project about fireworks...now shes confused and anxious...terrified of bonfires...got Mr Men ear plugs for later on. Her teacher said toilet visuals are in place, I looked..a picture of a toilet on the back of the cubicle door??? and a wash your hands picture over the sink! Apparently the strip Inclusion took in was 'too complicated for the other children' Angry...the timetable provided will be in use by next week...they said that 4 weeks ago
I emailed inclusion, meeting her on 15th to pass reports over so she can go in and tell them off! (Inclusion are withdrawing support, I presume because DD was 5 last week and they are Early Years?...waiting for Autism team in jan)

woolytree · 05/11/2010 17:39

Hi, please may a newbie join you? I have white wine to drink, and have brought posh Thornton's chocs?

Goblinchild · 05/11/2010 17:47

Google is rarely your friend when you are worried Lougle, hope the tests show something easy to identify and fix.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 05/11/2010 17:49

Sorry she is unwell Lougle. Sad

Goblinchild · 05/11/2010 17:49

Anyone who is a s good an auntie as you is welcome purplepidjin, saw your post about nappy changing and soft, hand-sewn tree decorations.

BialystockandBloom · 05/11/2010 17:50

Sorry to hear that lougle. How long will you have to wait for results?

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 05/11/2010 17:50

oh dear, we look like we have been burgled, have been letting DD free play this afternoon as she is tired from a week of full time nursery.....

5inthebed · 05/11/2010 17:57

Just marking my spot as taking DS1 to fireworks then my usual Asda shop.

Lougle, hope the results come quickly for you.

Went to docs yesterday, gave me ADs and going to get me some counselling. DS2 slowly wearing me down.He is going to kick off when I leave shortly.

signandsay · 05/11/2010 18:18

Hi all, glad you started early, thought I woul check before we went out, (out in eves v v rare, ) am conning ds with night garden dvd so he thinks its later than it is, so we can do the crying, (and hopefully!!! falling asleep) before the babysitter arrives.

week not bad at all, Smile ds first session at riding for the disabled, he grinned all way round Grin Grin also really good TAC meeting, (and school bod had face like a sucked lemon as all other professionals agreed with us not her) Grin

really sorry to hear about others crappy week, Sad

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 05/11/2010 18:26

aargh DD is too tired to eat dinner and is falling asleep now, this means lots of being wide-awake in the middle of the night, from past experience.

fightingthezombies · 05/11/2010 18:27

I've had a bit of a mixed week too. Ds having problems with being picked on again and been in tears a lot. Sent agreement for statement back to LA so can relax a bit after months on mumsnet of research and paperwork. Ds won a trip to theme park so we are out for the day tomorrow - hope he's not too agitated by the long wait for the big rides. Hoping all those that have had a crap week have a better weekend. Good to hear about your ds Arsenic and about the sucked lemon face professional Grin.

Goblinchild · 05/11/2010 18:29

Check out how to get permission to avoid the queues and fast track for an SN child, lots of people on here know about it and how to access.

fightingthezombies · 05/11/2010 18:31

Thanks Goblin but he doesn't have a dx.

Lougle · 05/11/2010 18:33

Sorry to hear of mixed weeks all round, really. Although there are a few bright spots out there Smile

I don't know what the Paed is actually testing for by doing AFP/White cell enzymes. Googling has led me to "Ataxia telangiectasia", but to be honest, by the description, he can keep it Shock

Having said that, he says he 'is convinced' they will come back negative. But of course, that begs the question as to why he is bothering to courier her blood to London.

Because they have to book the courier, he has asked us to bring her in on Tuesday to have the blood taken. She is petrified of blood tests, so that will be tricky.

Will post properly and general chit chat once kiddies are in bed. DH is only just home Hmm because his boss is hopelessly disorganised. Having said that, it is his last day and he starts a new job on Monday, YAY!

Goblinchild · 05/11/2010 18:34

Apologies FTZ, I assumed if you were going for a statement you had a Dx Blush

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 05/11/2010 18:34

DD has had/is having similar tests Lougle, it is very hard, I know.

SauvignonBlanche · 05/11/2010 18:35

I'll be having a large one! Smile
Disapointing day, went for a temporary promotion but didn't get it. Sad

fightingthezombies · 05/11/2010 18:36

That's o.k Goblin. I expect he will get a dx one day when the professionals finally see what we see!

lisad123isgoingcrazy · 05/11/2010 18:45

We are off to fireworks, be intresting to see how DD2 is Confused

purplepidjin · 05/11/2010 18:53

Thanks, Goblin. I only met them back in January, about a month after getting together with DP and because I'm an only, I LOVE having small people to play with!

I've worked for the past 5 years full time with kids and teens with SN, 2 mornings a week at a Rudolf Steiner school before that (uni before then) and start on Monday with adults with LD! I also just started a company called MimaPants, making nice clothes (mainly trousers) for kids with SN :)

@FTZ, I've taken kids with SN to theme parks, just tell them he's disabled and gets aggressive. I'd be surprised if they didn't fat-track you :)
