Have you called for an update x

I will call today. Do people call 0800 121 4600 and go with options 1 2 5 1 and then 4?

Why I have tried option 4 previous I have waited 40 minutes without reply.

Am I doing this correct?

Thanks

Hopefullyitcan · 26/10/2026 11:19

Okay so I have just called. It is with a case manager now. Is this the same as a decision maker?

My 8 year old daughter is diagnosed with ADHD got autism assessments next month her ep mentioned autism with PDA profile also I feel ATM her ADHD is so severe that it overrides her ADHD her is a renewal this time and sent in her ehcp ep report and advice risk assessment suspension letters and two reduced timetables as in year 3 she was on one for 8 months with at ap provision she's now in a specialist school her fight or flight is so bad she climbed school gates and ran first time I've heard someone child benefit so similar to mine

Yes Very similar, Bless her it’s very tough isn’t it, hope you don’t have to wait too much longer for your renewal decision, we do have a blue badge already, detailed educational psychologist, occupational therapist, complex behaviour reports all detailing his fight flight tendencies and elopement so a little shocked they’ve overlooked this at the mobility part but I will request a relook, we’ve just secured his personal travel budget also for me to drive him safely to and from school.

Absolutely fight for what your child is entitled too. Aww thankyou yes my son was first awarded Mrc lrm in 2023 which I disagreed with so challenged it and won hrc lrm for him just had his renewal done last week with same award hrc lrm for 5 years, I don’t think they look at all the evidence properly in my opinion, my sons claim is water tight for both hrc and hrm it meets every single criteria backed up strongly with all relevant medical evidence. Just fustrating to have to go through it all again! If life isnt challenging enough with our children as it is.

That it mine was 2024 but my daughter was struggling so much I generally couldn't do it all over again but now I have so much evidence I would definitely Mr it this time but back then if she was suspended she was on reduce timetable or mental health day and I literally was pregnant and then all the big struggles hit when I not long gave birth so was a lot for ,e to handle

Scan date NC for youngest son 11/08. Just had a phone call saying I need to send more info in. Does anyone know if I need to put a stamp on the envelope? The address is Disability Benefit Centre 4, Post Handling Site B, Wolverhampton.

I dont think it should be to much longer for you now, ive seen people say its with dm and they get a decision that day, or a day or so after cxx

Rachael93 · 26/10/2026 13:54

Any coc or mr for July?

beardotdo · 26/10/2026 14:20

Just off the phone to them for an update. Scan date 20/07.
After being told all sorts of different things when I’ve phoned previously, today I was told that my forms were in fact scanned incorrectly as a renewal. She said that I would have heard by now if they’d been scanned correctly in the first place, but she’s manually changed it over now so that it’s definitely showing as a new claim on their end. Previously they told me that I’d used the wrong forms, which I just accepted. It wasn’t until I went back and double checked that I realised I definitely hadn’t used the wrong forms and it was an error on their part.

No idea how long it’ll take from this point, but I guess it’s progress?

Hopefullyitcan · 26/10/2026 14:30

Can anyone tell me what the difference is in a decision maker and a case worker please? Mine is with a caseworker.

From what I can gather, the case worker makes sure everything that's needed for the claim is there, that the forms have been filled out properly etc, and requests anything extra that might be needed. Then it goes into a queue for a decision maker to look at it. I think.

Thanks for that. Guessing it could still be quite a wait then. At least it's progressing.
