i was being overly optimistic wasn't I about the sensible views! hope that one of the 2 schools you look at seems like a good place for DS

That all doesn't sound too bad. Do you have anyone to go round the schools with for another opinion? What about ds's school helper or someone who knows him well, could they go too?

Tonight's probably ok, it all depends on DP and the wind. as he'd booked tonight for windsurfing, but it's calm so I think he won't go.

I just saw your other thread on the break-in

If I'm free I'd come with you but I'm away most of next week with work which I think is when you're going.

indiasmum · 07/06/2007 10:39

aww essbee- do you know which one? With the right special school life will get so much easier. After ds1 started his I had literally loads of people telling me how much better I looked, and how I'd always looked ill before. I'd never let ds1 anywhere near a mainstream school now. It makes a huge difference having staff who know their stuff.

gess · 14/06/2007 23:34

AND you lose the gawpers-any meltdowns ds1 has in front of other parents now are met with sympathetic smiles, or laughs as in "we're all in this together...."

seeing stuff like that in black and white is a bit dismal I imagine, but hopefully the change of school will make yours (and DS's!) life easier in the long run.

gess · 14/06/2007 23:42

hmm maybe best not to essbee. What type of schools are they? Are they ASD specific?

mummytosteven · 14/06/2007 23:42

don't see why there would be an issue with you naming the schools on here (well other than anonymity etc for you) but may be more prudent for responses to be mailed to you if not 100% glowing.

I'm off to bed now, but it will get easier essbee, get the school right and its easier for everyone (including dd).

gess · 14/06/2007 23:47
