All welcome Smile I joined Slimming World in November and so far lost 9.5lb, a bit of a gain over Christmas but getting there - I have around 3 stone to lose and I am looking forward to fitting into clothes not worn for a long time and have a big family wedding coming up. I would like to look like the slim, glamourous Aunt in the photos (without upstaging the bride!) Grin

A pound in today....Booked a holiday week for next Daturday as its my birthday, but need to get back on track. Am fighting the temptation to say to hell with it till after birthday weekend. Be good if I can get 5 good days in beforehand. On a good note I made a big pan of syn free soup!

LeftyLou · 24/09/2022 17:55

@SpongeBobJudgeyPants thank you 😊
I do like a browse around The Works.

3.5 lbs is great. Well done to your husband, "the focker" 😂

What soup did you make @Wilma55? I'm thinking of doing so again now the colder weather is coming.

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/09/2022 23:10

I also made a huge pot of free soup

carrot onion sweet potato

LightandAiry · 25/09/2022 09:04

Hi everyone I'm back from a week in Spain, looking at a pile of washing and feeling rather demotivated with sorting out the house, but motivated to get back on track with Slimming World. It's been a lovely week and I am looking up Spanish inspired veggie dishes. My Ds is going back to uni today, due to rubbish Covid I am hoping he has a good year and actually stays there! It feels like we can have a fresh start looking towards autumn.

I am hoping to avoid a sizeable gain as DH tells me we walked 77k sightseeing - but I won't know until Saturday's weigh in.

Welcome to ShakeItOff40 and DahliasRule also nice to see you again LeftyLou

These DH are jammy SpongeBobJudgeyPants 3.5lb what a cheek!! The marbles are a good idea of a visual syns reminder.

,Wilma55 do you use a slow cooker for soup?

Blondeshavemorefun sorry about gain but not a Biggie that's a relief.

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/09/2022 09:48

Welcome home @LightandAiry

Hopefully walking and swimming will help

Wilma55 · 25/09/2022 18:26

Re soup, it's usually "bottom of the fridge" soup! So this was courgette and tomato with onion and a handful of lentils. Sometimes use slow cooker but usually just pan on hob.
There is a new SW book coming out with the 12 week offer, 50 Soups (probably a snazzier name!) Think that offer is coming out next week.

Carpediem15 · 25/09/2022 20:25

1/2 lb off yesterday and also was Slimmer of the Week 😮Everybody except me had Maintained or Gained and there were 12 of us there.
We had a look at the new Soup book yesterday, I usually make bottom of the fridge type soup but was quite impressed by this one, lots of meal type soups. With the marbles syns idea I had lots of largish beads in the drawer - I used to make jewellery - so found a use for them at last.

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/09/2022 20:33

Well done @Carpediem15

LightandAiry · 26/09/2022 17:24

Hope everyone is OK on this dreary Monday. I already had around 10 syns but jacket potato in oven to have with salad for an early dinner.

Well done Carpediem15 I've won slimmer of the week

LightandAiry · 26/09/2022 17:30

Sent too early I've won slimmer of week before and been surprised. People are distracted by holidays etc I guess.

I looked at WW just out of curiosity....not thinking of swapping, but it looks complicated. The less to think about the better!

Wilma55 looks like I'll be getting myself a soup book. I have to get another 12 weeks and hoping for another stone in that time.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants I am thinking of your marbles idea, anything to keep on track.

ShakeItOff40 · 27/09/2022 10:23

Welcome home @LightandAiry hope you had a fab holiday!

Well done @Carpediem15 👏

-0.5lb for me this morning. It could have been more if I'd done better, but also came on (which is a shock as I take tablets to stop them) which explains why I ate like a knob yesterday. Onwards for next week. Have been watching videos on YouTube, to try and get me in the mindset.

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/09/2022 10:27

Well done @ShakeItOff40

also have period. Maybe that my gain

obviously the roast dinner pots yorkies and pudding had nothing to do with it

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 27/09/2022 10:54

Well done to losers! I am finding it quite hard to be in the zone at the moment. Is it becuause there is no threat of being in a swimsuit, and Crimbo do's are a little way off, so less incentive? Anyhoo, I need to try harder!
How is everyone today?

LeftyLou · 27/09/2022 14:59

I haven't listened to the podcast in ages, so started again yesterday. Feel like that is helping me get some motivation.

About slimmer of the week. I won it on the week between Christmas and New Year with around 1lbs loss.

I have got into a really bad habit of weighing myself constantly at home. I need to nip that in the bud. Think I'm going to put them somewhere out of sight and go in next week without knowing what it might be. See if that helps me get better into the right mindset.

@ShakeItOff40 and @Carpediem15 well done on your losses😊

@Blondeshavemorefun I love the sound of your soup.

@Wilma55 love the idea of a bottom of the fridge soup too.

@LightandAiry thankyou for the welcome back 😊

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 27/09/2022 15:51

Podcasts. I could do with getting back in the habit.

LightandAiry · 27/09/2022 16:14

It's my tricky day tomorrow - grotty Wednesday - planning it the best I can. Breakfast at home, salad take to work, a few syns (prob a rich tea & skinny bar) & fruit. I find it easier now the cooler weather is here with veggie stews which are lower calorie.

Well done ShakeItOff40 in right direction

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/09/2022 17:03

I find soup and salad doesn’t fill me up

im Better with spag bol

had Remainder of my soup for lunch and starving

This is why I liked the new book, not just blended soup, plenty of meal types. I find that with blended soup I could have it in a mug and drink at any time not for lunch unless I had bread with it, much prefer it left as it is cooked then takes longer to eat. I throw everything at salad, egg, cheese, a bit of left over chicken if there is any or whatever we had last night as I don't mind "wet" food with it - the other day I had salad with the above plus left over baked beans. 😃
If you buy Skinny bars beware of them in Aldi - they are £1.49 a box, didn't look and shoved them in the trolley, hubby pointed it out and they went back onto the shelf.

ShakeItOff40 · 28/09/2022 14:21

How's everyone doing?

I'm trying to follow the mindset of 'i shouldn't be hungry on slimming world' and not fall into the 'eat as little as possible in hope that I lose weight, then binge and gain it back' and it feels utterly alien.

Yesterday was fine, yogurt and fruit, curry with aldi sweet potato burger, and then left over chilli. Some Hi fi bars, and a shed load of tea. And probably slightly too much wine (I KNOWWWWW)

Today, poached eggs on toast, then SW frozen lasange (half of one) and broccoli, and tonight a honey chicken slow cooker with caulirice and more broccoli. Feel like big meals to me, but maybe that's the point?!

ShakeItOff40 · 28/09/2022 14:23

Also - @LightandAiry I hear you about Wednesday. Tuesday and Wednesday are our worst days of the week! Exhausting, and long, so I'm trying so hard to put something in the slow cooker at lunch as if something isn't cooked, I'll be wacking in something beige!

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/09/2022 14:38

Half a sw lasagne ? I are a whole one last night

are they for two 😱
