groovester I completely missed your photos last night! WOW! You have both done an amazing job.

Can I ask did DH follow the plan properly or was his loss just from you preparing SW meals for both of you?

FoofFighter · 09/06/2017 15:51

Wow groovester that is such an achievement FlowersStarStarStar

Groovee have followed you on instagram, I find it really a helpful tool to keep me on track 🙂
I'm loulaw73 if anyone else is on instagram

Groovester · 09/06/2017 19:24

Thanks guys. My husband has embraced SW meals (as have the kids) but has always eaten more bread and snacks than me. He works hard 4 times a week at gym too.

ALemonyPea · 09/06/2017 19:30

I don't do Instagram, I can barely do twitter Blush

My mam is getting on my nerves. She has asked me today when I'm stopping SW as getting too thin and verging on anorexia. She's clearly off her head as I Mam still classed as overweight and not as if I've lost my curves.

Has anyone else experienced this? People telling you you've lost too much weight. I suspect it's because she can't remember me thin as it's been quite a while. I weigh less now than when I did when I got married in 2001. It's quite annoying and not encouraging at all. I think she thinks that once I'm at goal I'll be eating loads again and she can feed me cakes and pies. She does make amazing puddings on Sundays and I go once a month for dinner, so I do intend on having a pudding then, but only once I am at target.

I reckon I'm half way through my journey and getting the same from my mum @ALemonyPea. I'm trying hard to ignore.

DH is below 200lb at long last. He's cut back on drinking and crisps.

FoofFighter · 09/06/2017 20:12

Jealousy basically

FaithAgain · 09/06/2017 21:00

Oh yes I'm getting that now. I am 1/2lb under the 'healthy' weight bracket and I'm getting You're wasting away! comments Hmm I do think people are accustomed to people being overweight now. People who lose weight seem to look at odds with what they expect to see!

useyourimagination · 10/06/2017 07:45

I'm loving these before and after photos - you all look amazing.

I have a question - I'd really like to change my weigh in day from Sunday to Saturday. It's not obvious how I do that, or if it's even possible? Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I've had a sneaky peak this morning and, after a less than glorious start to my journey at the beginning of the week (3 ½ stone to get to the top end of my healthy bmi) I managed to buckle down and I've lost 2 pounds!

PositiveAttitude · 10/06/2017 07:49

My BMI still has me as the top end of Obese - started in the severely obese, but if I want to get down to healthy I would have to lose another 6 stone nearly!!!! (Lost 4 stone 10lb so far) That is beyond ridiculous!
Yesterday I had someone say to me that I shouldn't lose anymore weight. Would anyone normally say that to someone that is supposedly 6 stone overweight?? I do think I have always carried weight well and weighed far more than I look as if I do. I have not been in the normal weight range since I was about 13 and I have no intention of getting there again. I know what I am aiming for and I am happy plodding along to get there.

ALemonyPea · 10/06/2017 08:24

Imagination, it's not hard at all. Do you go to group? The only thing is weigh weeks run from sun - sat, so you'd either have to get weighed on both sat and the sun, or put a holiday in and then get weighed on the Sunday. Does that make sense?

I'm at a party tomorrow where people I only see once a year will be. Looking forward to the comments (I realise that makes me sound shallow), hope they're kind and not stuck up look down your nose type ones as not keen on some of the people.

I think people don't always respond well to change. In that they think you look so much better than you did and maybe worry that you'll burn out and put it all back on, or develop an eating disorder, they probably secretly think you have been living unsustainably on cabbage soup or similar.

I also think I'm one of those people who carry/hide it fairly well. I am 5'5" and have been 12-14 stone for my entire adult life (25+ years), got up to 15st last year. But never been bigger than size 16. I don't really know what my target is weight-wise, it should be less than 10 stone I think, but my real goal is to routinely fit size 12 clothing.

I have had a mixed first few days since stsrting back up. Eaten LOTS of fruit, which is easy at this time of year. No crisps, which are one of my big addictions. But have had bread as carbs in my two main meals as they were already planned at the start of the week (fajitas and home made pizza). This on top of HEx B bread (I don't eat cereal).

My DS eats masses of frozen fruit from supermarkets and recently Sainsburys gave really expanded their range, I bought a bag of frozen watermelon cubes this week and they are gorgeous to nibble on.

OwlinaTree · 10/06/2017 10:21

The don't lose any more comments!! I only seem to get these from my mum, but she's got some issues round food and weight tbh. She's better than she was though. I know my dh would tell me honestly if I was going too far.

I think sometimes people feel a bit threatened by the change in you, like if you were the fat one and suddenly you are the slim, healthy, positive looking one they feel like the order of things has changed, and their position in the pack has changed!

Hope the party goes well lemony, enjoy the positive comments and the catch up.

FaithAgain · 10/06/2017 10:38

imagination do you mean you can't add your weight any earlier than the Sunday? I think if you go into setting you can change the day you wouldn't usually get weighed.

PA you've done amazingly well. Keep on plodding!

I've found the easiest way to respond if just to say I'm aiming to be a 'healthy' weight, then I'll stay where I am.

Groovee · 10/06/2017 14:35

You need to go onto the website to my progress and change weigh in there as I changed from Wednesday to Tuesday. And SW told me I had to use the website desktop site and not a mobile site.

Groovee · 10/06/2017 14:41

Got this from Poundland to measure my healthy extra milk.

useyourimagination · 10/06/2017 14:43

I've managed to change my day - thank you everyone :)

ALemonyPea · 10/06/2017 18:24

Ah I get what you meant now, I thought you meant in general, not online Blush. Doesn't take much to confuse me.

Day 5 SP today, managing fine, but a bit bored now of it. Only two more days. If I don't lose the 2.5lb to get my target I shall cry, then go to McDonald's.

Where's the strangest place you have lost weight on your body?

Have noticed for a few weeks that my glasses just couldn't stay up my nose. It appears I have lost weight on it and needed my glasses adjusted 😂

FoofFighter · 11/06/2017 14:39

Ditto to the glasses, they are too wide! they keep falling off

emwithme · 11/06/2017 16:06

I had to have my glasses adjusted too, Groovee was really annoying for a while (until I twigged what it was). I also lost 2 "bits" from my watch - I didn't think I had that much fat on my wrists, but I obviously did. My shoes are also all a little bit too big.

I have got a horrendous cold so today is mostly fruit, and porridge (and copious amounts of OJ and paracetamol). I am still having a roast later though, just got to get the oomph together to cook it.

ALemonyPea · 11/06/2017 17:08

I had to adjust the straps on my Birkenstocks. My feet are so nice and slim now haha

Fabulous photos, Groovester! I was interested in how your Dh has lost weight as my Dh wants to lose weight. He used to be super-fit (regular running, football, marathons etc) but work commitments have encroached on his fitness time in recent years so he can't get away with the between meal nibbles like he used to be able to without weight gain. He's happy to have SW meals but also eats too many crisps & biscuits. I need to have a think.
Lemony, don't let people derail you from your target. You've done brilliantly and have also given inspiration to loads of us on this thread. My Dm has always been very slim and actually quite likes me being overweight because it gives her something to be smug about. I'll be seeing her next weekend and I've already practised in my head verbal responses to comments she's likely to make.

Groovee · 11/06/2017 18:26

Lol Lemony I had to buy insoles for my shoes yesterday. What a difference.
